I really enjoyed my time with the 3 chapters. I think playing co-op helped, some things would be a bit unwieldy playing it solo. Gonna do the ranking. MI2 CMI SMI Legend of Monkey Island TMI/RMI/EMI Obviously less of its own thing and playing on a lot of nostalgia, but I had a lot more fun with it than the 'newer' MIs. I think a Sam and Max style remaster might push TMI up a bit.

Yeah, it's actually the one question I wish was asked in recent interviews with Ron, but I'm partially afraid his answer would be "It didn't actually mean anything, it was nothing more than a joke at the time." lol All that being said, this discussion has reminded me again why I love this game and this series so much. So many layers to it, especially in Return. Over a year later, and I'm still constantly thinking about how everything fits together. In other cases, that would be frustrating, but for these games, it's great because there is enough evidence to support multiple theories. Monkey Island is really the one series I know that wholly embraces head-canons in such a unique way.

That fake DOTT box is fantastic.

I've got a similar one as a gift from a German LucasArts fan with a knack for designing custom big boxes (he offered one to me, since he used my restoration). I think he came up with the design first and the guy above just expanded on the idea (by, well, stealing it). This is the one I have: He also designed this one: They are both empty though (and he only ever sold them at cost, not to make money off of them). Is it presumptuous to assume that our mini-run of MI SE boxes (as seen above left) kicked off several more of these kinds of projects? At least I can't say I've seen many custom big boxes including goodies appear online before that.
