But I had played a word without # first that eliminated a bunch of common letters then I played another word without # where the last letter went green… and two yellows. So I knew it had to start with at least one #. As the list of words that are accepted starting with one or more # is limited, I started trying all words I could make with the three letters I had first with 3 leading # (as those are less words and would help me sniff out how many leading # there are), then 2 # and so on. It took a few minutes of entering words that were all rejected but finally one of them was the right answer on my third go. But I can’t remember what it was…
