  1. There are some neat room scribbles for Monkey 2 that I haven't seen before.

  2. I'm gonna repeat what I mentioned to Marius earlier -- the El Carlo thing was briefly mentioned in both marketing and previews for the Amiga version before it just... stopped. I was quite literally starting to think I had imagined it (as I never gained any traction talking about it over the last 30 years) so I'm very happy it is now a stated fact!

  3. "Hey Ron, remember the many cards you signed? We, uh, need a couple more of them."

  4. It's Limited Run Games... there's not gonna be a reprint. From the photos I can already tell there are a few more things I'd have fixed beforehand, but due to my communication with LRG I'm fully aware that this was changed in very little time, and I'm happy that they went with a lot of my design proposals (which I've basically just threw at them to make sure they DON'T release their initial black box).

  5. I think the value could be retained if they went the book route and called it a "second edition" that way first editions would still actively be sought after. As it is we will have the usual ebay suspects driving the cost up for the post-sale market (the amount of bs ebay pre-order listings for the anthology shows that at least a chunk went to scalpers). A second/third/etc. edition run scheme for their releases would allow for a planned continuous income from projects. This would both protect the early editions value (which for the most part benefits resellers and short term collectors looking to flip eventually, dedicated collectors are likely to keep unless they manage to get a better copy(ie lower numbering, one of rons notes he said he slipped onto some of the signatures, etc.) so the additional value to them is less of a concern. This also provides oppertunity for those same collectors to expand and snatch up the following editions. Typically things like changes in cover art are common between editions of books so differences like that could help protect the value of each release as well. I do however completely agree that just making more of the exact same product after the numbered 7000 or so would definitely cheapen the anthology as is and be an affront to those early adopters I think one easy change to differentiate a second edition is the removal of the Ron signature (which would save our lords wrist and let him go back to making games lol) which would be in line with a lot of collectors editions where there is a short run of signed copies available and then a larger unsigned batch.

  7. I don't know how I've ended up there, but the title pretty much says it all. It looks like Mr. Kierdorf has once again stopped pretending to working on Bad Brain games and... went all-in on YouTube? I wasn't sure initially, after all having boxed LEC Games is de facto standard for a German citizen. However, I doubt this applies to unreleased gems as "The Orgastic 4". Here's a less scammy look from a shady, shady character that tried to enter the games industry from the back door. From better days it seems! Well, the Bad Brain website is dead again, and I just found this stuff grotesque: That's all I got, till next Wolfie mischief!

  8. Maybe that's why it shows up on the back of the MI2 Kixx XL box from the UK, which always made me wonder: And, thanks to the original game backgrounds in the MI2 SE concept art gallery, we know that Peter Chan's painting of LeChuck's office in MI2 was labeled "El Carlo's office" on the original art: This definitely clears up some mysteries, I'd say.

  9. Yeah I went for years believing I’d imagined the ‘LeChuck’s brother’ thing until I saw it on an old box.

  10. I did this with Broken Age... sorta. The box is unsealed but the blu-ray box is still fully wrapped lol Me too, I also didn't realize fangamer still offered it and bought mine at a much higher price on ebay because I didn't do my research first in that case 😞 at least it was listed as a backers edition which the code that it came with seemed to confirm but yeah... that still stings a bit

  11. Just got a response on Twitter: "The production emails were sent using our active mailing list, if you've not opted in you may not receive those. Shipping notifications will go out as the team is packing out orders though and those are not tied to the newsletter mailing list. -SE" That explains why I wasn't receiving emails from Limited Run Games even in my spam folder (except when I changed my password). Hopefully at some point that "item shipped" email does show up in my inbox...

  12. All mails LRG sents me are going straight to the spam folder, so make sure you check in there. "In production" is usually the status up until it switches to "shipped", so just be patient, it'll go through. If it doesn't, you can always contact their support. They always have spares.

  13. I regret not getting LRG's Switch version of Thimbleweed Park. Only got Fangamer's PC box.
