  1. Defiance is the Trion game accompanying the TV show on SyFy of the same name. It is a third person shooter set in the ruins of California, specifically San Francisco and the surrounding area. Is anyone playing? I'm playing on PC as Jureth. I've found it quite an enjoyable game despite its shortcomings...lots of different weapons...lots of things to shoot
  2. An interesting take...to each his own I suppose...I never finished New Vegas either but it was more because other games came out I wanted to play more than any sense of role playing morality or not wanting to finish it.
  3. Looking forward to seeing what they show at E3...I'm trying to be optimistic even if it is difficult to do so with LucasArts right now.
  4. From shacknews.com: Lucas plans on launching yet another extension of his Star Wars franchise. Last week, the company bought a number of domains regarding a project likely to be titled "Star Wars 1313." The company now owns 1313starwars.com and starwars1313.com, which has many fans wondering what this mysterious project could be. Whatever it is, it will be a video game, new evidence reveals. Fusible, which first discovered the domain registrations theorized 1313 could refer to a movie based on Boba Fett. "CT-1313 was once an alias used by Boba Fett on Aargau when he was confronted by a clone trooper," the site noted. However, additional information unearthed by Siliconera suggests that the project will not be a film, but a video game instead. Lucas filed a trademark with the USPTO earlier this month--and the trademark notes that it is for use as "video game software" and "entertainment services provided on-line." Whatever 1313 is, it will likely be an online (multiplayer?) video game. Could this be a Boba Fett game--or something different altogether? source: http://www.shacknews.com/article/73674/star-wars-1313-trademarked-will-be-a-game/ I think I probably know how most of us feel about LucasArts and games lately, but anyone think this will turn into anything decent?
  5. It does seem a bit extreme to me as well...the only caveat I could imagine is that on most employment applications there is a question that asks if you have ever committed a crime. If she said no and didn't declare it then they could have grounds to fire her on falsifying her application. The story doesn't say that though and I were her I'd try to fight this somehow.
  6. I saw that and the speculation that ensued. I would love a BG port for iOS, but I'd love another BG game even more Not likely, but still one can hope!
  7. In the name of all that is good an holy what is wrong with those people? One of the articles is right, if that had happened here in the US there would likely be a lawsuit and rightly so, harassment, wrongful prosecution, illegal search and seizure...just to name a few things that would likely be claimed. Those children are now traumatized for no good reason at all. *sigh*
  8. As if the copyright rules weren't crap as they are...I'd heard about this a bit ago and kept hoping it would go away or that someone would step up and quash it, but it doesn't sound like that is the case.
  9. I played both KOTOR games many many times...and most of the games I tend to replay are RPGS such as Dragon Age: Origins, and Mass Effect 1&2.
  10. She's adorable Shem...are you fully recovered from your sleepless nights?
  11. For those of you who are fans of the Fallout series and have followed the legal battle between Bethesda and Iterplay over the rights to develop a Fallout MMO the battle has been settled. As reported by Game Informer: Bethesda Softworks parent company ZeniMax Media said today it has settled the ongoing legal battle between it and Interplay over the Fallout MMO game license. Under the terms of the settlement, the license granted to Interplay to develop the Fallout MMO title is now null and void, and all rights to develop the MMO have been turned over to Bethesda effective immediately. Additionally, Interplay can no longer use the Fallout brand for game development. ZeniMax will pay Interplay $2 million as part of the settlement and each party will pay their own legal costs. However, Interplay can continue to sell the original Fallout Tactics, Fallout, and Fallout 2 PC games and merchandise through December 2013. After that time, the rights to those titles become property of Bethesda. Bethesda also said it also reached a settlement with the purported developer of the Fallout MMO, Masthead Studios. No payments were made by either party in this settlement, and the developer acknowledges it has no legal right to use any Fallout intellectual property and agrees it will not use any such intellectual property of Bethesda in the future. "While we strongly believe in the merits of our suits, we are pleased to avoid the distraction and expense of litigation while completely resolving all claims to the Fallout IP," said Robert Altman, chairman and CEO of ZeniMax Media. "Fallout is an important property of ZeniMax and we are now able to develop future Fallout titles for our fans without third party involvement or the overhang of others' legal claims." This lawsuit began after Bethesda acquired the Fallout license from Interplay in 2007. Bethesda conditionally licensed back to Interplay trademark rights to make a Fallout MMO provided the company could secure $30 million for the project and began development by April 2009. Bethesda alleged Interplay did not meet those conditions, but Interplay would not give up the license for the Fallout MMO; insisting it would eventually develop the game. 12. Congratulations, and good luck on your business venture!
  13. Thank you for the b-day wishes!

  14. You can get items that do not have an alignment choice attached to them through crafting, quest rewards, and such. So in no way are you forced into an alignment. As a Sith you can even make light side choices and vice versa for a Jedi. I've been testing the game for about a month and I've never felt forced into a particular alignment. I won't say any more...NDA and all that, but take that for what its worth.
  15. Yay for thread necromancy! I still haven't seen this movie even though I started this thread I want to see it and I'm glad that it seems to have lived up to my original supposition that it looked like it had the potential to be a good movie.
  16. Perry is not high on my list of candidates either his religious convictions/pandering not withstanding. He has some "interesting" (read insane) ideas about repealing several constitutional amendments and giving Congress the power to override the Supreme Court with a 2/3 vote. source: http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/seven-ways-rick-perry-wants-change-constitution-131634517.html
  17. Awesome job Stoffe! Thanks to you and all the rest of the staff as well!
  18. (This BBCode requires its accompanying plugin to work properly.)
  19. The Space Shuttle Atlantis left the launch pad today for the final space shuttle mission. I have to admit I felt a little sad watching it, it almost felt like a step back for space exploration rather than a step forward.
  20. Whilst slightly irrelevant in case anyone cares Earth and Beyond does have an emulator running: http://forum.enb-emulator.com/
  21. I'm pretty sure legally Sony can't help the emulator...I believe I read that SOE's license with LucasArts runs out at the end of this year. I'm not shocked that Sony is allowing SWG to die. They probably don't want to have to shell out the cash to renew the license to try and compete with SWTOR a competition they likely would lose. I myself haven't played SWG in about a year or so but I might come back for the end. It would be the second MMO that I've been on at end of service with EA's Earth and Beyond being the first.
