  1. There is one thing I was wondering about concerning the map editor/mod tools that I haven't been able to find an answer to. Will you be able to make new planets in the galactic overview map as well? I take it that the map editor is primarily aimed at creating new tactical maps (at least that's how most people talk about it) but I would like to make my own galactic map as well. Create new planets, assign new space/ground maps to them, give the planets special abilities/bonuses and so on. Will this be possible?
  2. Interesting. I wonder whose side they would be on when you invade...
  3. I read somewhere that in the new campaign the characters who died in A New Hope (Obi-Wan, Tarkin etc.) will no longer be available. However they will still be available in Galactic Conquest mode.
  4. In all fairness the expansion doesn't just "go sideways". The incorporation of the B-wing, the SSD and not to mention the second Death Star certainly demonstrates that the timeline is moving steadily forward. So we probably don't get to replay the Battle of Endor (although who knows?) but I can live with that. When I blew up the first Death Star in the Rebel campaign it didn't happen anywhere near Yavin and that was fine.
  5. The pen-and-paper roleplaying games have lots of really interesting vehicles for all sides; UAVs, Freerunners, AT-PTs, Floating Fortresses... Not to mention that the Rebels have lots of other types of SpecForce soldiers in addition to Infiltrators.
  6. That sounds great, if you ask me. I knew there wasn't going to be any implementation of a Z-axis, and diplomacy and persistent damage were long shots at best (still would have been sweet, though). As much as I love the game I have to say that the AI could do with some serious upgrading. Something I would really love to see is the ability to pick which ships are to be included in the initial force when attacking/defending a system. By all means the computer makes a well-rounded choice, but some times it would be nice to specialize a little. For example, if the Rebels have lots of starfighters but no capital ships it would be good to be able to go in with a bunch of Tartans first and save the big guns for later. Any chance of seeing this in the expansion pack?
  7. I know Xizor was cut from EaW; I think they'll put him in again for this one. And the "Lady of the Sith" is a Dathomir Nightsister, a group of Force-wielding witches from the secluded planet Dathomir.
  8. I'm not so sure it's set in stone that Zann gets the Eclipse. My guess is that the Underworld campaign is centred on GETTING the Eclipse, and if you succeed you get to use it in the last mission. If it is in the Galactic Conquest game at all I'm betting that it costs a bundle, requires level 5 research and moves really, really slow. But I still think it's a background unit. It doesn't seem to have any hardpoints in any of the screens I've seen, and no one seems to be targetting it. I'm thinking it'll be like Death Star II, hanging back from the action and taking potshots at other ships, maybe even spawning some garrisoned units like the Death Star does.
  9. Does it ever have me excited! I can't wait to get my hands on this baby. I can't for the life of me figure out why so many people are so negative about it. Every single thing I've seen about it looks incredibly promising. Base customization, a whole new faction, new units, new heroes, bigger maps, additional rules... I ask you, what's not to love?
  10. Wasn't there a new and improved version of the Mon Calamari cruisers in the Dark Empire comics called the MD-90 or something? That could be a counter. And provided the B-wigs pack a sufficiently powerful punch (one squardon can take out a single hardpoint in one pass) that could also work. In the pen-and-paper roleplaying game (West End Games version) the B-wing has a downright ridiculous firepower.
  11. I'm pretty sure that we'll be seeing Leia and Lando in there. Xizor will almost certainly make it in there too, at least in the Underworld single-player campaign.
  12. It would be cool if the special ability associated with Honoghr was that it would spawn a bounty hunter (or similar) for free every so often, to represent a Noghri team being made available to whomever controls is.
  13. Maybe it's just me, but from watching the videos it looks like the Eclipse is a "background" unit, like the Death Star. It hangs untouchable in the background and fires its laser at certain intervals. Is this correct?
  14. One thing I've been wondering about: what new units does the Rebellion get? The Underworld faction of course gets all new units, and the Empire is getting DarkTroopers, the SSD, TIE Interceptors, the Juggernaut etc. Hopefully the Rebels will be getting some goodies too? (And I'm not counting heroes like Luke and Yoda here, mind you.)
  15. Mmmmmm... stealth unit. I love stealth units. Now all I need is a couple of MPTL-2As, and then I'll have some fun...
  16. I thought the voice was just right. It had menace, bitterness and a certain cold quality. I'd be perfectly happy if that's the voice that makes it into the final game. Although if you had to change it, I agree with Wedge2211: Jeremy Irons would be outstanding.
