  1. There are several tutorials about capes here http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3497 One is for bf1 capes, the other is for bf2 capes
  2. This is what I did. Sniper rifle, aimed it with no zoom, no sight, at the jedi, point blank range. It was pretty effective, got me through the level!

Some website said that behind it was the GeForce 6800, which is what I have. Do you have the latest drivers? What setting are you changing? I can't see how there could be a problem anywhere else. Go to the BF2 autoplay menu, (the red one) and go to help> analyze my computer. I really don't know how to help beyond this.
  4. Hmm, that's mysterious. What video card do you have? And which video options? Any of them, or just a specific one?
  5. Yep you're right about flightsim. Scenery has collision boxes, not meshes. I posted my speeder at game toast. With any luck some person who made the conversion pack will see it. YEAH!!!!!! I did it! I exported my speeder from gmax, to yafray, to 3DOC, to blender, to XSI. Now I can give it to the people with the real XSI, to export to battlefront. phew. Here's an idea for a BF3 Expansion pack. We could go through all the mod maps at battlefront files and put the good ones in the pack. I think we should correct other small details such as putting in the right trooper skins at Utapau, and putting in the green skins for clone marines and so on, to make it truly accurate to the movie.
  6. Flightsim has the whole world. They use autogen and some other stuff to make it work, but really, worlds would be so big the battles wouldn't be battles, they would be wars that could drag on for years. Anyway, the conversion pack is great! A lot of bugs though. Thanks for the link to gametoast. In order to export msh you need the $500 version of XSI. I'm trying to find away around XSI, but it looks like thats not possible. That's too bad, because I made a good coruscant speeder model thats way better then the one in the conversion pack. (If anyone cares it's on my homepage)
  7. Thanks both of you. I wondered why everything was all messed up. At least some of the things are fixed though Here's a wild idea, how about a dynamic map, one faction in one location, another faction in another location, and the team members build their base, sort of like building a real base. One problem though, nothing would stop the factions from putting in hundreds of turrets, or something like that. Still, it would be cool to have your own barracks, weapons locker, etc. etc.. But this is going towards the realm of a rpg, and yeah I know SWBF is a shooter, not an rpg. But when someone is defending their own base, one that they built themselves, won't they fight with more dedication? Also, where can I find recent BF2 modding support? Most relevant threads are months old at the least, if not years. (I have trouble with XSI and exporting)
  8. Mod maps, ok, I downloaded a SWBF Conversion Pack v1.75. I think this is it. My opinions on BF3: -Include destructible scenery, like a lot of it. The engine definitely supports it. Destructible buildings? Maybe not, but that would be cool like in KOTOR to bomb your enemy like they did to Taris, and have the buildings just shatter and explode. -More classes. Surely there aren't only 5 different troops in a whole army. -Not necessarily bigger, but more in-depth maps. -Like other people were saying, the ability to just walk in a vehicle would be cool, sorta like GCMOD for BF1942. In that game you can walk around inside the corridors of cruisers. If you go to the bridge, you can actually fly them at other cruisers. The weapons work, and the cruisers are even destructible.
  9. Dactillion33, What console do you have? If you have a PC, there are no unlockables and no jedi fighters on Naboo. I think those appear in the PS2 or Xbox versions.

  11. Yeah BF3, but are we planning on making it? Or are we just throwing opinions out for the gaming industry? I think we should just mod BF2, and try and implement some of the suggestions on this forum. Why don't we pick a map and get started? If you wanna try, go here for BF2 mod tools http://www.lucasfiles.com/?s=&action=category&id=159 I need that free Softimage XSI 4.2 Mod Tool to work. Anybody out there that understands what I'm talking about? Of course I COULD give the commando unlimited jet, and I could also give him unlimited ammo. But that takes the fun out of it, and makes it unrealistic. I can re-skin his armor though, that's definitely possible. PS I put more coruscant pictures on my site. Yeah, thats too bad about BF1. I saw all the posts were about a year old. I have both BF1 and BF2 mod tools. I was starting with BF1 because its simpler. But its still the Zero engine, and I still have to get XSI running for either of them to work. Zero editor didn't change much from BF1 to BF2.
  12. All this about BF3 is cool. Are any of you programmers, modelers, etc? If you have any experience in Softimage XSI or just modding, could you go over to the swbfI - mods and editing- mod tools thread and help me out? I'm trying to get a Softimage XSI 4.2 Mod Tool to work (Its free). My opinion about BF3: Well, there's a lot of things I could say. Bigger maps would be cool, but there would need to be more organization in single player, such as the ability to tell all the bots which command post to go to etc. Urban combat on coruscant would be cool. In fact, I tried to make a coruscant level for BF1942, but I never finished it. There's some pictures of it at my site (l put the url in my signature)
