The Gamespy servers for "internet" Starwars Battlefront got shutdown in 11/7/2012, taking away the internet option for multiplayer games.
However, there is still a way to play muliplayer by using the LAN option.
Follow this link to learn how to play using Tunngle:

Hi Lucas Forums viewers,
Just to let you know, there are still players that play the original SWBF. Come and visit us a http://www.SWBFgamers.com
We host PC based servers and Direct Connection based servers including regular mod-map nights and tournaments.
We have a small but very active number of daily users that can help with game tips and making of game modifications (not just maps).
We host a large selection of mod maps and are actively working on new ones, and even take requests.
If you visit, please sign up for an account there and say hello!

Hi Axelrd,
My date is in US format, so yes November 7, 2012 is the day the Gamespy master server went away. LAN option is the only means left to play on-line, but fortunately, we have found a home by using a Virtual LAN (VLAN) solution called Tunngle.
Direct Connection will not work, as that method also tries to connect to the master server.
