actually, for the past couple days i happened to be messing around with... hard drives!
(and RAM).quite simply its like in k2, getting the upgrade parts for three different armors and figuring how to get the best bonuses to suit your character (or their current situaution).
...i think i just got +2 repair
lol, i timed one of my comps with 128mb of ram in its current degenerated, virus infected, andgodknowswhat state. it took 12 minutes to start up.
i stuck in another 512mb and it started in...
2 minutes. (geeky tip. more RAM=faster computer
)lol. man, whenever i stop using a family computer, it degenerates into computer hell. but then, i get blamed for the computer problems. :¬:
but yeah, ive practically been trying to get all our computers cleaned up with the best hardware setups. it sounds geeky, but to me, its just as fun as getting the perfect kotor upgrade item combination.

i had those exact symptoms once... it was a couple years ago and we gave the computer to a techie friend of ours. he said that the hard drive literally blew. like, smoke and smell and all. o_O
i dont know if thats what your laptop's problem, but its a good thing you backed up your stuff.

heh, 'the nerd within'. i thought i knew quite a bit about computers... that is, until i wandered over to astro's tech section. it was there that my geek confidence was shattered as i found out that i am indeed, a floundering n00b.

yeah.. im kinda worried about some people in the class... gosh, a lot of these people didnt even know how to double click a few weeks ago... im not sure they still do! and now theyre teaching them garbage like specific knowledge about network protocols and the detailed processes of a companies team of geeks (it guys). and this is just the beginning... apparently wer're actually going to be programming by the end of the course. since i can understand all this stuff, i have a lot of people coming to me for help. yesterday i was helping out like, 4 people at the same time in a star formation.

ive been doin a computer course to learn ms office and all that stuff. i already know a bit about computers, (because i like em) but learning the office apps are essential. it started out pretty easy, but now its quite hard and i actually have to read the study material they give me! (
) speaking off, i have class tommorow and should probably read my 7 or so mm thick unit on 'computer systems development'. (at leats they dont use thin paper! ... but bleh. ill do it tommorow. -
spring/summer break... heh, i dont quite understand those. whats it like in the US? how long are those spring/summer breaks? in NZ, there are four terms of school, roughly 10 weeks each. in between terms, we get 2 week holidays. im currently in the second week of holidays between term 1 and term 2.
no holidays...are you homeschooled?
