  3. Mentat, if you pull this off, then you truly are a Godsend from The Force. I'm so enthralled about this potential jediBoard revival! It's been far too long. Much thanks and appreciation for this.
  4. I've complained, beckoned, and begged so much about this ATI HD Radeon series graphics card bug glitch issue. LucasArts has been notified. ATI / AMD has been notified. They don't care. It is really sad, pathetic, and shameful too. And no big journalistic game / hardware news coverage online web sites seem to want to make it known either. Reminder: other LucasArts PC games are affected by this as well: X-Wing Alliance X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter + Balance of Power Star Wars Episode 1 Racer Shadows of the Empire

  6. Tim Shafer will probably ultimately be the one who decides to continue a sequel game of Day of the Tentacle. I've always clamored for the story of Day of the Tentacle 2: Purple Tentacle's Revenge, just to follow the title similarities of the Secret of Monkey Island series. The next generation adventure type game of this sort will probably be 3D or third person. 2D point and click interface is probably ancient history though I wouldn't mind seeing or playing either way.
  7. Where is danbeck - Daniel Beckham - when we need him?! JediBoard was one of the truly simplistic, awesome, and uniquely conceived ip bulletin boards ever devised for multiplayer star wars gaming! To this day I've never seen its Equal. I and a whole lot of other community members would still be using it today if it were still around and properly maintained and operational - too bad the Death Star blew it up by a script file error and server transfer years ago.
  8. I've looked, read, and submitted all over the place and can't seem to find a solution for this issue anywhere. A lot of the same explanations (or excuses) have been given though, such as a hindered bug / glitch of the bit depth z buffer in the latest video card driver software releases or that the newer video card hardware is no longer supporting bit dithering. It's been like over a year and a half since the ATI Catalyst drivers went out of whack with making a handful of the greatest LucasArts Star Wars games cease to no longer run, work, play, or display properly - in 3D acceleration. I've also been asking myself this question a lot lately: Is it mainly LucasArts' responsibility or mainly ATI's responsibility in handling fixing the situation? I doubt now that neither will ever do anything about it and we'll have to wait until someone still involved in the community comes up with a homemade patch or update. For me it's been definitely discouraging and frustrating having to wait without having to downgrade or rollback or build another legacy computer.
  9. Its too bad that Rogue Squadron PC has got no more extra play value to it anymore. I know that the game is over 10 years old now. The official Naboo Starfighter patch, the XP crash patch file update, and the black car (roguecar) mod seem like the only "bonus things" able to keep this game alive still. It would've been nice to also fly the Cloud Car or mod swap it with the AW, VW or Snowspeeder and have it also shoot out tow cable. Same goes with editing a driveable AT-PT mod swapped w/ AT-ST or the TIE Bomber w/ YW or regular TIE Fighter w/ TI.
  10. Battle for Naboo PC version does still seems to be playable in Windows XP and with no video graphics card problems and doesn't crash like Rogue Squadron PC. The only problem is that the braking and thrust glitch issues continue to linger on like its predecessor RS on faster machines and XP. All the playable vehicles seem to move very sluggishly if not at all - almost like the same glitch issue Star Wars DroidWorks has on faster PCs and XP. Any input is greatly appreciated. ------------------------ Windows XP Home 32 bit with SP 3 Asus M3A Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.3 Ghz Kingston 2GB Dual Channel RAM Sapphire Radeon 3650 HD Creative SoundBlaster Audigy (original)
  11. What is the 3D Accelerator min texture size settings feature used for in Jedi Knight Dark Forces II & Mysteries of the Sith?? What is the optimal # to be set at for different resolutions or different hardware video cards such as ATI Radeon (s) or Nvidia Geforce (s)? In the original manual it stated that for a Matrox Mystique that it should be set at 4. What other variables does it constitute changing? Or should it just be left alone at default # 1 ? When should the Backbuffer in System Memory be enabled or checked off / on ?
  12. Only 2 Jedi still appear after the cutscene. The Kel Dor Jedi with the 2 lightsabers does not appear after the cutscene. Would it have to do with the skill level I'm playing the mod on? I selected Padawan / Sithspit. Gotta admit that that jump over to that elevator is pretty difficult - even with rank 3. Got a youtube video demo for that jump? Perhaps you should've added a wall nook ledge to jump above and hug 'n walk along the edge to get over there for the less challenged and impatient Dark Jedi Sith. Heh. I'm playing the mod with all video details set on high / very high. Below is my computer info: Windows XP Professional with SP3 PC Chips M848A 5.0 Motherboard AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2.167 Ghz 2 GB Patriot PC2700 DDR RAM ATI Radeon x850 XT Platinum AGP / Catalyst 9.1 drivers Creative SoundBlaster Audigy (original) All latest drivers & patches etc.
  13. Yeah that's what I thought too. I did notice 3 beings standing by or near the airspeeder that took off and flew away in the cutscene before you fight them. Strange. I guess perhaps maybe it's because I used god & noclip cheat codes to get over to that elevator. I've noticed in certain custom add on levels / maps / mods that things do tend to go awry with certain cheat codes turned on. I will replay that portion of the level without using anything special and see what happens and report back. Thanks nizwiz & Mercenary.
  14. I'm stuck at the top after killing the 2 Jedi (twi'lek female & human male w/ green double bladed lightsaber) where the Airspeeders are parked and not sure where or what to do next - ? Any hint or walkthrough at this teeny tiny juncture point is appreciated. Thanks.
  15. I'm having the same exact issues with my Radeon 3650 HD as everyone else with Jedi Knight. It also is happening and doing the same exact thing with X-Wing Alliance too! A lot of black blotchy square tiling saturated mess like digital cable tv on a bad day. I really hope ATI addresses and corrects this issue.
  16. I was able to fix or get rid of the sky textures bright off yellow problem in a very 1/2-@$$ed dedeuceable approach. I just uninstalled a lot of games I had on my primary HDD that were on there for a while and didn't play for a while - Call of Duty and its Expansion, Devastation, original Half Life and all its expansions, Medal of Honor and its expansions, and Tron 2.0. I also uninstalled then reinstalled Jedi Outcast. I just have to suspect that one or some of these games caused a conflict / glitch with the video card graphics drivers. I've seen this similar problem before and maybe others could atest to that or be more specific.? Thanks.
  17. I just installed Jedi Outcast with the latest official released patches for it on Windows XP Home Edition and started playing and noticed the sky was bright off yellow. I didn't pay it any mind until I got to the end of the level where the cutscene Imperial Admiral Fyar is on his Star Destroyer Bridge and the outside was the same bright off yellow. And the next mining world level was the same too. What's up with the sky texture? Has anyone else experienced this problem? I tried changing the compatibility to Windows 98 / ME but it wouldn't launch the game that way. Below is my computer system info: Windows XP Home 32 bit version with Service Pack 3 and all latest updates Asus M3A Motherboard AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ 2.3 Ghz 2 GB Dual Channel RAM ATI Radeon 3650 PCIE x16 with latest 8.12 drivers 160 GB Seagate SATA HDD
  18. Here is a thread you may want to check out: http://www.ntcompatible.com/Star_Wars_Droidworks_c9705.html I had the same XP (and 98 SE) problems too in missions with droids going up hills and pushing moving objects up inclines. Oh how I wish a mod or restoration or official patch would cure my woes to make this game run right and with 3D acceleration too. :/
  19. Now years later I'm having an issue with this rdroid_gnome release build problem just after installing and running the game. The very first loading screen flashes and an error comes up with rdroid_gnome release build error. I installed the game and installed the "white screen" patch and also checked & unchecked the Windows 98 / ME compatibility option. This Star Wars Racer game used to run fine under XP a while ago and I'm not sure why it ain't now - ? Perhaps b/c I upgraded my system from a single core CPU to AMD 64 Dual Core or XP Service pack 3 ?? Or my latest video card? Any help or solution fix is greatly appreciated. Thank-you. 20. From LucasArts FAQ Regarding Star Wars Episode 1 Racer PC Q: I am getting a white screen at the start of the race or having trouble running the game in Windows XP/2000. A: We have received reports of problems with our Windows 95/98 game titles from users of Windows 2000. All of our original Windows 95/98 titles were developed and tested using only the standard Windows 95 & Windows 98 operating systems. Windows 2000 was designed for business users and is not currently compatible with all Windows 95/98 applications. LucasArts cannot guarantee full compatibility of our original Windows 95/98 titles with the Windows 2000 operating system. Unfortunately, Racer is not officially supported for use with the Windows XP Operating System. However, we do have a new executable file for the game (Swep1rcr.exe) that we are currently testing. This new .exe file addresses a known issue with Racer in Windows XP, where users encounter a white screen once they enter a race. This fix usually works for Windows 2000 users as well. We recommend that you download the new exe file for the game from our FTP site at: ftp://ftp.lucasarts.com/patches/pc/swep1rcr.exe Simply copy or save this file into your Racer folder on the harddrive (the default location is C:\Program Files\LucasArts\RACER). When you are asked if you want to overwrite the existing Swep1rcr.exe file, select yes. Then try playing the game once more to see if the new file corrects the problem. If you use a mail program which has security precautions which will not allow you to download the updated file, please highlight and copy the FTP address above, and paste it into the address bar on your web browser to download the update. Please note that this updated version of the game exe is for the domestic (U.S.) and other English versions of the game. If you have a non-English version of Star Wars Episode I Racer, please write back and we can send you the international version of the update. At your earliest convenience, please write back and let us know if this update allows you to run the game without any problems. If you experience any sound issues during gameplay, please exit the game and try the following: Try adjusting the sound card's "hardware sound acceleration level" in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool Sound menu. - Exit the game - Click on the Windows Start button - Choose "Run..." - Type DXDIAG in the "Open" field and click OK - Select the Sound tab on the DirectX Diagnostic Tool - Lower the "hardware sound acceleration level" one notch and click "Exit" Try playing the game with this setting. If the problem continues to occur, you may want to return to this menu and try a different acceleration setting. You may need to reset sound acceleration to the original setting once you have finished playing the game to avoid problems with other applications. Note: When playing Racer under Windows 2000/XP, you should select the option to create a new player on the main menu. We have received reports that using the default player file, Anakin, will cause the game to not save your progress once you exit the game. Simply delete or remove the default "Anakin" player file profile in the menu and create another different one. -----------------------------------
  21. How about any chance of ever seeing DroidWorks become ' enhanced ' or accelerated for that matter? Of all the JK editing forums I've ever browsed and perused, nobody's even touched this topic - or game probably - heh. It used the same type of .gob files so what gives?
  22. Hey MotS multiplayer on 28.8 / 56K was the golden age of multiplayer gaming for me too! I went by the name Bombo Biggles in multiplayer MotS and I originally wrote - typed up the 1st MOTS Taunt List that I submitted years and years ago (almost a decade) to jediknight.net and I can't believe you can still find it out there at this particular link: http://www.geocities.com/area51/stargate/7933/MotS-Taunts.txt God I wish someone would just bring back jediboard and improve upon it! I used to love just posting and hosting my ip address on there and writing a description and leaving comments about that particular game played. JediBoard was just great. Bring back JediBoard!
  23. I miss JediBoard! Please post and link it back onto JediKnight.net main page! Thanks.
  24. Has anyone been able to fix this problem yet for this game??? I'm not sure whether it has to do with running the game in Windows XP or on a fast computer machine with a fast processor with a high end video card. ? I've used the 'White Screen' fix I got from LucasArts' web site, and I have all the latest hardware driver updates for my computer. But the acceleration / boost meter in the game continues to flicker really fast and can't use the engine boost! I've also tried the alternate compatibility mode option in XP, but just seems to make the game run choppy. Also, not to go too much off topic, but a similar glitch happens like this as well in the Star Wars DroidWorks computer game, where you try to move a droid and the droid acceleration meter in the game flickers really fast - especially when trying to make your droid go up any sort of certain steep slopes or inclines! Any help is appreciated. Thanks. System Information: ABIT KD7 VIA KT400 Motherboard ! Gig DDR PC2700 333 RAM AMD Athlon XP 2400 2 Ghz processor ATI Radeon 9800 SE 128 MB Sound Blaster Audigy
  25. Does anyone else find this problem to be annoying? It happens every time you start to begin flying in any level of Rogue Squadron PC. Once you hit the joystick brake and let go, your starfighter will fly off way in the distance until you die or crash. Then the game / starfighter will fly and play normally till you complete that level. Then it does it again when you play the next or different level. Is there any way to correct or fix this problem? I have the latest (naboo starfighter) patch for the game. Plus I've tried the compatibility change option in Windows XP Home Edition. I have all the latest hardware drivers as well. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. System Information: ABIT KD7 VIA KT400 Motherboard !
