  1. Stupid character limit...

Anyways, another thing stumping me details the villain and this link between the protaganists and the Composer. Naturally, one would think that because the heroes are connected to God, then the villain would be somehow linked to Satan. In fact, the villain is Satan. And because each of the characters quite literally has Christ living inside them, the antagonist naturally fears them. He desires to remove Demos, Thais, Galen and Ebony, thus removing Christ, and by extension, destroying the Composer. The catch is that he can't destroy them by conventional means. What I need help with here is a way that one could potentially, albeit fictitiously, destroy Christ. Think of this as Lucifer's attempt to usurp Heaven, round two, and he's got a secret weapon.

So to sum up what I need help with: 1) What the four pieces of Christ represent & 2) How Satan might unconventionally destroy Christ.

  2. While I'vealready conquered this issue with the help of some friends at another forum, I'm still open to suggestions.

The four protaganists, Demos, Thais, Galen and Ebony, are all directly linked to the Composer, who is God. Like in the Holy Trinity in Christianity, the Composer is split up into three distinct parts of a greater whole. The part of the Trinity that links them to the Composer is analogous to God the Son, or Christ. Unlike the real Christ, this part of the Composer is split into four parts, and each character has one of the fragments inside them. What I need help with here is what these shards represent.

  3. My apologies for a lack of communication in a while.

So I just had a super big, and I hate to use this phrase, brain blast for Ex Tenebris Luxus. And for more developement on this epiphany, I really need some major help. This plot point is by far the most important in the story, and is beyond one man alone. But be warned: by assisting me with this, you are practically spoiling some major points of the story for yourself. But you will receive a very extra special thanks in the acknowledgements in return.

  4. I have that same issue EVERYWHERE!! It drives me crazy. I too respect musical opinions, but I do get tired of people constantly mocking me for what I listen to. They never go deep into the lyrical themes. They just hear something they like and start spitting it out. Me, I listen for three things when I'm looking at bands: 1) lyrical themes 2) a heavy, dark sound 3)actual talent. If they lack any of those things, I discard them. Take the Chariot for example. They have very Christ-centered themes and an extremely heavy sound, but Josh Scogin's hard vocals aren't the best in the world. But I have respect for them, though; they're from where I live, as is Norma Jean and Luti-Kriss. For all I know, my band director may have gone to school with some with the members. I know the Youth pastor at local church and current adult sponsor for 1st priority at my school schooled with members of Becoming the Archetype.

  5. I've heard of all of them. My favorites are, in order alphabetical: A Hope For Home; A Plea For Purging; As Hell Retreats; As I Lay Dying; The Ascendicate; August Burns Red, Becoming the Archetype; Blessthefall; Day of Fire; Dead Poetic; Decyfer Down; Demon Hunter; Disciple; Ember; Emery; Falling Up; For All Eternity; For Today; Haste the Day; Hawk Nelson; Hope For the Dying; I Am Empire; Impending Doom; In the Midst of Lions; Inhale Exhale; Jonah33; Kutless; The Letter Black; Letter To the Exiles; Living Sacrifice; Monday Morning; Mychildren Mybride; Oh, Sleeper; Onward To Olympas; Pillar; Red; Relient K; Run Kid Run; The Showdown; Since October; Skillet; Sleeping Giant; Tait; Thousand Foot Krutch; To Speak of Wolves; Trenches; Underoath; and War of Ages.

Any Christian who hasn't heard Skillet either lives in the darkest depths of the ocean, or they're OOOOLD!!

  6. I was wondering what kind of music you listen to. I listen to rock, but mainly metal, and here comes the wierd part, I only listen to Christian rock. Life as a Christian metalhead is pretty difficult; I'm rejected by the metalhead community for being a "self-righteous zealot," and I'm rejected by the Christian community for listening to "blasphemous noise."

I used to listen to bands like Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, Tool, and Disturbed all the time. But the lyrical themes and content in their songs began to have a psychological affect on me. I was more aggressive, hateful, violent, and on the verge of things I shouldn't do such as drugs and premarital sex. I've since stopped listening to them. But I do long to hear a Christian metal band with the sound of Godsmack. If such a band does or will exist, they will automatically replace Red as my favorite band. So how about you?

  7. Darn character limit.

Anyways, as far as being saved, that's a rather complicated subject. I was baptized and technically saved in 7th grade, but I never lived like I was saved. At the end of freshman year, I slipped into depression after years of being on both ends of the bullying spectrum and was on the verge of suicide, with suicidal thoughts every other day. During a winter retreat sophomore year, I began a u-turn back to God. Last year I recommitted myself, and been living more Christ-like since. So technically, I've been saved for six year, but personally, I've been saved for barely a year. It's just how you look at it.

  8. Yes indeed, I am '11. lml It is my fullest intention to write fiction, specifically Christian fiction. As you already know, I'm writing one piece already, and recently just finished chapter 11. College wise, I would love to go to Truett-McConnell college in northern Georgia, but due to money issues, I'm probably gonna be stuck with West Central Tech, a local campus. The advantage to that would be I could walk to work, that is if I get a job at either LifeWay Christian Bookstore or Borders.

I've actually been playing bass in church for a year now, in the Youth. Our music minister is really excited about getting a new bassist, as our current bassist can't be there all the time. You can actually watch our Wednesday night services live and by extention my bass skills, but I'll have to find a link first. When I do find one, I'll give it to you.

  9. You are very welcome!

Understandable about the wishes on fb. The quickest response would to simply say "Thanks for all the birthday wishes." or something along the lines of that.

It's no problem that it's been a year since we've conversed. There are some people I haven't talked to in years, and yet we're friends on fb. If you have anything to say, by all means, say it, whether it be feedback on my story (now found on fb), just to say hey, or assistance with something.

In all honesty, I don't care what games you play. I strongly dislike CoD, but if that's what entertains you, then play your heart out.

I don't have a PS3, but I do have an account on XBL. I'm very rarely on, though. I've got much better and more productive things to do, like continue with "Ex Tenebris Luxus" (I recently finished chapter 11, and have up to chapter 13 planned) apply to colleges and jobs (both of which I need to get around to doing), and getting ready to play bass in "big" praise band at church.

  10. Happy birthdary bro! Sorry our "conversations" have been a bit bleak for the past year. But anyways, how was your big day?

  11. i feel slow and dumb for reading your review of my four poems just now. but i do thank you for reviewing them. you were fairly accurate in what they are about. but the theme you suggested about Christianity, actually was not my intended theme for each poem. it just comes with the faith. when i write poems, my faith is not the first thing on my mind. im not criticizing your review, im simply clarifying something. again, thank you for reviewing my poetry and not being too harsh.

  12. happy apparent birthday, ner vod

  13. i just sent you a request. im Ian McMichen. and my email is beanlord.i@gmail.com

  14. hey man. i actually like you fic Defects. its hard for me to follow because of the legnth and your style. im not criticizing, im just saying its a big change for me. keep up the good work

  15. eh. i talked to another close friend at church a few hours ago. he apparently didnt know that she was in the hospital, so when i told him the news, he was really hurt. we then had a long, deep conversation about friendship. the three of us are really close friends. just keep us in your prayers, brother. thank you for checking on me. it means a lot.

  16. Red's the musical cause of why i didnt commit suicide when i stuggled with a rather severe case of unclinically diagnosed depression

  17. im a bit confused. i feel an urge to post a story ive written up in the CEC, but the rules consistently say Star Wars only. and i see a few fics that arent Star Wars related, but the [NSW] tells me that so long as it has that, its ok. but i noticed that those few are fanfics of official and fairly well known series. my story has absolutely nothing to do with real world series other than inspiration. so does it go there, or in a section i havent seen yet?

  18. im writing a story, but it has nothing to do with Star Wars. i want to post it up here because i know ill get feedback. is it ok if i post it up in the AWL discussion? or does it belong somewhere else on LF?

  19. i know my RC2 fanfic is a month or two, maybe tree, oldbut is it alright if i update it? or do i have to restart it?

  20. its called copyright. there might be someone whod want to steal it, but i doubt anyone here would try it because theyd have to put up with me! >:D but realistically, we need to find a free copyrighting source, so until then we're using creative license.

  21. if we do copyright it will have to be free. i tried finding a free copyrighting program for a few of my projects, but its almost impossible.

  22. thanks for the assist.

  23. about the ARC mod thing, im doing a bit of art for it and im ready to post up some. would it go in the mod thread or idea thread?

  24. theyll listen, but they wont. its a company policy. i know from experience in dealing with Nintendo, Bungie and Blizzard. they always say that they appreciate your idea (although they actually dont care), but cannot accept it. imagine how many StarCraft or Halo games there would be if Blizzard and Bungie accepted everyone's ideas.

  25. through extensive research i have confirmed that my story idea could be considered canon!
