  1. Hey T7,

As best I can tell, filefront is down for good. Does Weapons of the Old Republic still exist anywhere, or is it dead?

  2. Just played through the demo... again. Can't wait for the final release!
  3. It's by Darth333 and can be found here: http://www.geocities.ws/d333mods/ Go to "Other Mods" on the left, and it's the third one down. I don't think I'm supposed to post a direct link.
  4. I'm glad everything is working now!

    =)

  5. I've tried 7-zip and WinRar, but it turns out that it was just a fluke of corrupt downloads - it said it was 1.08 gigs, but apparently the file index kept getting corrupt or... something. I tried from a different, wired connection, and it seems to have worked fine. (Apart from a few corrupt tga files that I ignored.) Thanks for checking up anyway. RoR appears to be working now. :)

  6. What version or unzip are using?

If you click the rar file and check for file size is it saying 1.08 gigs?

I know sometimes you are able to download you will get the option for to download it as a zip or Rar format? Have you tried the opposite of originally downloaded?

Once I can understand why the we can find away so you can see the other folders and play the game.

  7. "...Also, when I opened the .rar archive, the only thing in it is a movies folder with some random .bik files. What am I missing here?" I've tried moddb, and I'm still having the same problem. WinRar gives me an "Unexpected end of archive" error, and then shows an archive containing only a movies folder. 7-zip does the same thing, minus the error message. Is anyone else having this problem?
  8. Logan, you said "MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INSTALL DOC." Where can I find that? Also, when I opened the .rar archive, the only thing in it is a movies folder with some random .bik files. What am I missing here?
  9. As amusing as this is in a KotOR forum, I believe he's referring to the Leviathan. Look it up on Wikipedia.
  10. I really enjoy Korriban. Showing up all those Sith is pretty awesome.
  11. 1. You're confusing your classes a bit here. At the beginning of the game you can choose Soldier, Scout, or Scoundrel. At a later point, you will choose Guardian, Sentential, or Consular. Therefore, you could theoretically be both a Soldier and a Consular. If you want to own with lightsabers on the second time through, the most extreme duelist would be a Soldier Guardian. 2. Wisdom determines how hard it is for others to resist your force powers, and how well you resist other's powers. I wouldn't max it out though - that would leave you wide open in other areas. Soldiers are generally going to fight with lightsabers more than the force, so 12 should be more than enough. 3. Difficult to say. However, you should know that (especially for types such as Consulars) DEX can be quite useful. A character with a high DEX can dance through a fight and never get hit - quite useful for Consulars, considering that they can then just stand there and fry everyone with Force Lightning. CHA, aside from affecting things such as persuade, determines how many force points you have. Since Consulars aren't going to have awesome lightsaber skills, it's important not to run out of force points. 4. Personally, I'm not a big fan of awareness. There are a few times later in the game that it could be... useful... but it's not that big of a deal. I tend to have at least one character high in computer skills, since you get extra experience points for using computers instead of simply bashing your enemies, and there are lots of computers throughout the whole game. Demolitions is similar to awareness in that it will be useful in a few key spots. However, there are mines scattered through the KotOR world, so it's best to have at least one character with good Demolitions skills. Most of the other skills you can do without; you will only really need stealth once in the game, and anything with security can just be bashed open instead.
  12. Well, yes. That's entirely possible. I've had that game on my mind recently... @Lynk Former, yes I suppose that when stereotypes are abandoned and reality is evaluated, social skills (or a lack thereof) are more or less evenly distributed across the population. But stereotypes are so much more fun, don't you think?
  13. Nice definitions Lynk Former. One more question; is it geeks, nerds, or both who automatically have poor social skills? @Jai'galaar Bralor, 'fraid not. @Sabretooth; different type of Blender, but that type goes better with ice cream I suppose. It did give me the interesting vision of attempting to get ice cream through my screen into a piece of software.
  14. The definition of words sometimes being relative to the speaker, may I inquire as to the differentiation between a nerd and a geek?
  15. Primogen - you're right. I would guess that the majority of the fan base are nerds. Who else would stay interested in the game after a play through or two? KotOR is a good game, a great game even - but it's not that good. However, when combined with the ability to script the game to do virtually anything, it goes from being a great game to a phenomenal game. Scripting in NWscript, or any modding for that matter, doesn't come naturally to non-nerds. That said, about me: I'm a nerd. I work as a software developer for American National Insurance. Some of my interests are Blender, web design, and ice cream.
