  1. I am replying to your forum post about the Elder Settlement on the Unknown World here to avoid resurrecting an old thread. If you want to avoid a trip to the Elder settlement all together, I believe you can kill The One (SAVE FIRST!...just to be safe...) After ypu slaughter The One and his band of Rakata, see if the Elder Settlement is fixed. If it isn't...idk what to tell you

  2. Traya would use that Sithy psychological thing, pausing in between the duel to say something insulting, making Sion so angry that he would leave openings.
  3. Geredi, my favourite Duros. How are the cards treating you? I was wondering, what have been your biggest wins on the pazaak tables? Mine was a winning streak against Pato Ado on Datooine. I managed to get about 3,000 credits before my first loss, but eventually my addiction consumed me and I lost more than I gained. So what about you?
  4. I was thinking earlier about the KotOR mod that someone was doing, and how awesome it would be to have an official expansion focussing on the era. It would be nice to breathe some life into EaW and I think the pack would do just that, though we all know it won't happen. Still, we can hope, can't we?
  5. It's a great book. I was re-reading it for a book club that I organize.

  6. Oh really? What do you think of it? Might be worth me picking up a copy.

  7. I am currently reading, god is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything, by Christopher Hitchens. Chapter 16 is titled, "Is religion child abuse?".

  8. I haven't found a book I've enjoyed for a long time. The last one was Stone Cold by Robert Swindells. An OK book but it seems that the author strings it together in odd ways just to make a social commentary. I've been reading the Art of War by Sun Tzu, but that's more research than leisurely reading.
  9. Many of the heavy-hitters in the secular community agree with you. I believe that Dawkins has written the most extensively on the subject, but others have as well.

  10. I hadn't seen that article - thanks for bringing it to me. I naively assumed that I was the only one who'd pondered the topic.

  11. That may be, but Matthew 10:28 says "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." Assuming the child has been taught that the soul lives on after death, I'd still be pretty scared.
  12. I didn't mean to imply that all religious teaching is bad - sorry if it did - I meant that if you're going to back up your Christian morals with threats (and that is what they are) of eternal damnation, rather than an explanation of the consequences - that is abuse.
  13. I suspect that you're already familiar with Richard Dawkins and his argument that childhood indoctrination is child abuse. Just in case I am wrong though:

  14. Excuse me, but you'll have to hand over your Nietzsche 'stache for identification, miss.
