MASTA, Heavyarms and DMUK! Who would've said it? How have you all been doing?
-
Hey! How are you? It's nice to see someone familiar's still around. So what's happened since I left?

Hello people, I am Compa_Mighty, I was one of the first registered users in GalacticBattles.com when it was opened back in 2001. Time flies. I didn't know these forums still existed, but I am really happy to know they are still here. As some of you may recall, most members of our 2004 active community moved to EchoBase, so if there are still any of you who shared impressions and ideas with me 4 years ago... hello, and I hope I can talk to you soon! I'll try and stay in touch.

The Conquerors, no doubt. Then SWGB:CC.

Who knows? Once they did put something in Clone Campaigns that I had been asking for all year long. When asked in an interview about the feature, Mr. Gaber said it had been a fan request. Oh, BTW, I'm back.

When's the move?

Young David! Wow. Not everyone's dead after all.

banthas, nerfs, and holocrons
Compa_Mighty replied to Majin Boba Fett's topic in Galactic Discussion
Of course they are important. Holocrons are vital when Nova runs out. I never had any such game in SWGB, but in AoK we really fought for relics. And I mean really fighting. -
*Ahem* GB.COM EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2003-2004
Compa_Mighty replied to Clefo's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
You've got to include the Forummer with Oldest Avatar Award! -
Definitely a good idea, still it'd be sad to abandon this place. I think we must ask DMUK what he thinks first, as he saved this site form what seemed a sure death about a year ago. Other than that, I'm all for it, as long as everyone is informed. As for the Administrator, I think Rhett should be it, unless Sherack wants the work.

I like the Gungans, but I'd have to say Rebels.

What games are we going to this fall?
Compa_Mighty replied to FroZticles's topic in Galactic Discussion
I think I'll try BFME, I would love to play WoW, but well, you can't get those Massive On-line games in Mexico, and considering how much I really play, it would be a waste of money. -
Well, hope everything turns out well Sharon. Good to see some of you posting. While we're at it, my MSN is: andcares@hotmail.com and the address where I receive mail is: andcares@terra.com.mx I'm only online pretty often, and my nickname is always changing, so look for the address, not the name!

Does Kvan count? hehehe. There also JEDI_MASTA, and I haven't seen krkode for a while. Well, it's nice to know someone is still posting, considering the forum turns 4 in two months.

OK, after a long time on the margin of this discussion, and after reading it all, I have to say a few things. About the balance, it's clear you need fewer civs. 5 at the most. However, having the four political powers as "unique" civs wouldn't turn out that good. Besides being entirely anachronical, it would turn out to be one huge civ divided in four factions. Makes no sense? Think about it. The Empire is the Republic AND The Confederacy. Yet, the Rebels ARE also The Republic. And wait a minute! Weren't Rebels and the Confederacy fighting against the central power? Add the fact that the Confederacy is almost an illusion, being a branch of the Republic designed by the own Republic to bring itself down? All four civs are exactly the same. Name it X-Wing Fighter or Tie Fighter, they're different in a merely aesthetic way. Last but not least, don't you think it's a little silly to get personal fights due to a silly discussion about something, that at least for the time being, isn't happenning? Take it easy people. We have a good community, let's not tear it apart upon baseless arguements.

I really don't think this is real. I really hope this is not real. -
RTS won't die anytime soon. It's one of the most clever genres out there. Not everyone likes shooting everything down. As luke's dad said it was logical to release a MMPOFPS and MMPORPG because in the end it gives the company more money. As for the big companies staying low lately, I'd say it's a good sign, perhaps we won't get any major RTS this year, but that gives a whole other year to them, meaning it would be possible we could get both Starcraft 2 and Age of Empires 3 by December 2005. Talking about Rome: Total War, I recently was to England, and as DMUK said, the Total War series is a huge success, I don't know about the US, but for example, here in Mexico, we haven't got any of the series, the truth is, no matter how good R:TW is, it isn't as huge as a Blizzard/Ensemble/Westwood game... We'll just have to wait, KOTOR 2 was a good move and will probably be contending for the game of the year, we'll have to settle with that for the time being.

Help. IE keeps crashing. Don't know why.
Compa_Mighty replied to pbguy1211's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
That's pretty weird man. If you have everything updated, I don't see what your problem might be. However if I learn of a way to fix it I'll make sure to let you know. -
Hehehe. Even if you don't visit... sorry if they don't send you that stuff you could get it. Anyway, one last thing, in the process of erasing all the infected files I erased by mistake a "bridge.dll" file. Doesn't seem like it's been much of a problem, but each time I start the PC it tells me the file was not found. Is there a way I can get that file I erased? Thanks in advance.

Hehehe, good one saber. Yeah, they are probably working in the "Template for convincing people in fan forums to stop making templates for a game that's not gonna happen"
