  1. I'm glad GOG just released KOTOR II... same place I got KOTOR a decade late. =)
  2. Can we change the 60 seconds between reporting posts? I get on at least once a day, check the new posts, and find like 5 spam/ad nonsense posts that I try and report, and the 60 seconds between reporting just makes it a pain. Even 10-15 seconds would deter spam-reporting by humans or bots... without deterring actual forum members from helping out.
  3. Just starting "Kindly Inquisitors" by Jonathan Rauch, and "Deception Point" by Dan Brown. Well, trying to read them both at the same time anyway.
  4. I just finished reading "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell. Non-fic. Great read if you're a philosophical type or are interested in learning more about how the mind works. Before that, "Waking Up: A Guide to Spirituality Without Religion" by Sam Harris. No idea what I'm going to start reading now, but I have the itch!
  5. You're welcome. It is a bit confusing. Even doing the terminals, it took me forever to kill the droids my first time through, before I considered using ion weapons.
  6. You have to try talking to them first. Then insert datapad. Talk again. Remove datapad. Answer questions. I'm surprised you beat the droids first. The terminals disable their shields, making them easier to kill. However I'm not sure if the terminals are necessary to unseal the sealed door... so this is a good time for you to find out if the door is already unsealed! If not, do the steps I said above for both terminals.
  7. Still hard to find people to play Pazaak with. I know you can play online, and I think there's also a program, but I'm a bit of a do-it-yourself kinda guy. I have experience creating Java games... so I may just churn out my own Pazaak app with multiple deck designs and difficulties (opponents with scripted behaviors and varying side decks). I could make the game award you additional side deck cards for wins, keep track of high score and a player's name, even throw in a 2-player mode. 'Tis a thought, at any rate. Maybe tomorrow I'll see if it's something I wanna commit to doing.
  8. You're right; it's practically impossible to do things right your first time through. You'll still be figuring things out 5+ gameplays from now. There's just too much, but that also adds to the replay value of the game. Don't worry if you don't complete every little quest.
  9. I think you only get like half the amount of skill points as a Consular that you do as a Scoundrel. Actually I think it's like that for all the Jedi classes.
  10. Where are you trying to get Mission to appear? The UnderCity? Make sure you've spoken to the Hidden Beks and been told that you need to find Mission to break into the Black Vulkar base... otherwise you're not "on the mission" to find Mission.
  11. Yeah make sure you've spoken to the Hidden Beks, that's where you learn about needing Mission to break into the Black Vulkar base. Before that you should run into her and Big Z in the Lower City Cantina. Also you shouldn't get "stuck" at all, you should be able to open the gate back up or travel back to your apartment (by accessing your Map) and go back down. I had Hendar die on me a couple times until I tried using melee weapons on the rakghoul instead. Light Side points may be the only thing you get from saving him though.
  12. And make sure you're telling the guard that you won't allow them to continue interrogating the prisoner... that's what initiates the fighting!
  13. Exit completely out of KOTOR and restart, to make sure it's not a memory bug, then load a save that's before you enter the apartments and try again. Or, do it "the other way". Go to the Cantina first and find a Sith Officer who will invite you to a party (if you get on their good side). There are two officers; only the opposite sex one will invite you. Then return to the apartments and find the party in progress. They pass out from drinking, and you find the uniform in a backpack! I didn't even know about the way you're trying it for the longest time. I always went to the Cantina first. It's good to have options. =)
  14. Sure it'll work. KOTOR is actually quite old... any system you buy now should be good enough. I'm on a 2009 laptop with 128MB of video memory and KOTOR runs fine. =) If you read the system requirements here, you'll find them quite laughable compared to today's speeds: http://gamesystemrequirements.com/games.php?id=98
  15. One thing I didn't anticipate was how hard it would be to break in "mini" cards. Usually you need to shuffle and bend poker cards a bit before they lend themselves naturally to being shuffled (unless they're plastic). I must've shuffled these a thousand times, and they finally feel like cards people would be playing with on a regular basis. Still very nice in any case.
