The game crashed.. And the \cache\ String moved to 032118EA , so it seems... Its not fixed, probably something to do with the offsets or something. -

The following opcodes accessed 003B18EA. I loaded mos espa arena saved game. Counts:3 004743DA - 8B 7D FC - mov edi,[ebp-04] Counts:1 004748A0 - C1 E9 02 - shr ecx,02 Counts:1 004748A3 - F3 A5 - repe movsd Counts:1 004748AA - F3 A4 - repe movsb Counts:4 004738A5 - 8A 02 - mov al,[edx] Counts:3 004738BA - 8A 42 01 - mov al,[edx+01] Interesting. So the game is loading the dir reference to save files in the cache. Now... I just need to find which code erases the cache. ~~ So i pressed quit and the files inside the cache were erased. No 'count' changes in this address. So i guess once it loads the address , it doesnt need to load it until the next time the game is open. So what we know.. We know it access it during a 'load' We know cache is generated during the 'load' We know cache files are erased when quit is pressed We know cache folder is erased when quit is pressed on main menu. So somehow. using that information, i will have to isolate the op that erases the cache -

I tried to wavpack a different audio and substitute a obi voice but, it wont play. The game skips the coverting and wont play it. Although if i do change it in cache folder as a wave, it works fine. So, if wv -> wave and wave -> wv is impossible for TPM then, we could force WMAIN to not erase cache folder or write on it... right ? and simply have a static cache with all the game voices? Is that possible? hmm -

After some hours trying to convert the .wv files i decided to create this topic. The game caches the audio used in game in a folder called "cache" All the files in cache are wave, which are playable. The files in VOICE.LAB which can be opened using SCUMM program, are in .wv format, aka wavepack. These files are smaller and cant be converted even with the 2003 wvunpack. All the files in voice.lab starts with INDYWV tag. Which must be a clue to something. wvunpack AGD6201 WVUNPACK Hybrid Lossless Wavefile Decompressor Win32 Version 3.97 2-18-03 Copyright (coffee) 1998 - 2003 Conifer Software. All Rights Reserved. AGD6201.WV is not a valid WavPack file! Still researching. But getting hopeless http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=8271 Theres also an old topic here where zanzibar says they didnt do anything complicated with the audio files. 2 ideas : a) I will try to look for anything related to wavepack on WMAIN process with cheat engine. b) look for "Indiana Jones and his Desktop Adventures" wv topics
