I always found Tales's logo really distracting. Looks so much better like this. Thank you for making this 😁 You know what would be cool to see? A logo of Mi2 but that fits with the naming structure of the other games. Like... Revenge of Monkey Island

I'm finally ready to start my Monkey-a-thon. I was hoping for a release date before I started but I'm getting a bit impatient waiting for news. My only issue is what order to play them. With Return being a Monkey Island game that takes place right after 2, my natural conclusion is to play 2 last. So I'm thinking of playing the Non Gilbert trilogy first (Curse, Escape and Tales) and then play the Ron Gilbert trilogy of Secret, Revenge and Return. Kinda like watching star wars is better out of order with episodes 4, 5, 6, 1, 2 & 3 Or... Do i just play 1 and 2, then play Return... then play Curse, Escape and Tales. The lack of clarity on what Return is makes it hard to plan a marathon...

My eyes focused on the logo and for a second i legit thought there was a new trailer 😭 I think maybe i need to stop waiting for news as the lack of news is killer. Thank god for psychonauts 2, great distraction. Sad Double Fine with be xbox exclusive after such a great game but happy the developer has stability.

Aww that's a shame. I really missed it in mi2 and Tales.

Memoirs of Monkey Island 😍

What if Monkey Island 2 is like the 'Ocarina of Time' of the series. The carnival is all about time travelling. Maybe a certain event of you as a 'kid' causes a time split. The good ending and a bad ending? Maybe Curse of Monkey Island is the good ending where you get married. I dunno just random thoughts. Ocarina has a time split. One leads to Majora's Mask, the other to a Windwaker timeline i believe. That way everything is canon but doesn't effect anything.

Just read the new Ron Gilbert interview. "The ending of Monkey Island 2 had a huge cliffhanger," Gilbert explained. "I left Lucasfilm right after that and never resolved it. Future games did their best but we wanted to tackle it head on. While Return to Monkey Island does start right after Monkey 2 ends, it's not a 'sequel' to Monkey 2 either. It's going to be a fun journey. It will be an e-ticket ride." Glad to hear they won't gloss over the cliffhanger. Sounds like they will fully explain it.

He did do the Tales poster after, but maybe that was more of a one off special favour to Telltale.

During my lunch break i thought i do some quick sketches on how I think Guybrush might look in Return. Sorry they are pretty rough looking.

Random thought i just had is that i think it's a safe bet that a Steve Purcell cover art is likely out of the question now. I think after the backlash about art styles, its probably soured any possibilty. Part of me thinks it wasn't in the cards anyway as where they have a single artist vision, they will likely get Rex to do the cover art to keep it consistant. Also if they plan to appeal to a new audience they will likely want to showcase Rex's art.

Hi everybody, hope your all having a good weekend😃 I woke up with this optimistic feeling that this morning their would be some news but sadly no dice. June feels so far away... 😂 I have a question for you all. How have you been dealing with wait? What have you been playing? For me as soon as Return to Monkey Island was announced I played: - Grim Fandango, i finally beat it for the first time - i played through Putt Putt saves the zoo and Pajama Sam 1 - I started DeathSpank but kept getting lost and put it on hold Also, I'm finally playing Psychonauts 2 and loving it. It's really helped me come out of a low period. After that I'm planning to play Knights and Bikes (because of Rex's art) and Sam and Max Beyond Time and Space Remastered. 😁
