Any news on the debugging commands Torpid?
-
They should follow how Battlenet works. Up to 10 players with a bit of lag and units on screen move smoothly instead of jerkily (Generals Online any1?)
-
It only works for the US?
-
It happens to me sometimes as well. It's a problem with the engine itself.
I'll FRAPS it and post it here just to be sure.
-
I love fighters. I only use them to capture pads and mining facilities.
-
Try to unplug all other devices except ur mouse and keyboard. I had this problem with King Kong too.
-
The console was used as a debugging tool during developement. As far as I know, all of the debugging commands have been disabled in the boxed version of the game. I can check on it though.
Hi Torpid, any word yet whether we can enable the commands?
-
Hi all, I guess I'll start it off.
) Space Skirmish Mode 2v2: Unit stuck. I hypered in Vader and Boba Fett on the same spot and Boba Fett's Slave 1 was stuck and couldn't move. And if you happen to hyper in on a spot where a turret build pad was destroyed and it respawned at the same time, the unit would get stuck too.
) Space Skirmish Mode 2v2: Ion Cannon effects on Piett's ship doesn't wear off. Everything looks ok and his ship has full shields but he still moves so slowly. Tried stopping and moving but doesn't clear his state.
) Space Skirmish Mode 2v2: AI sometimes doesn't progress/upgrade. It happened twice where the enemy AI would stop upgrading at space station level 3 but it still continues to fight with level 3 ships even though I didn't attack it's mining facilities at all.
) Space SKirmish Mode 2v2: In late-game, the game would suddenly move-freeze-move-freeze for several seconds before normal real time play continues. Happens even when there's only one enemy left on the map.

Thanks Torpid, if there's a way to change some settings to squeeze every amount of performance I can get from the engine, it'll be great!

Hello there sir,
I noticed the ability to bring up the console. As with any other games, let me take for example, Half Life 2 and the Source engine, therein contains a whole lot of console commands to tweak the sound, memory buffer, textures and a whole lot of stuff. For example in HL2, I suffered a bit of stuttering even though Valve claimed to fix it. I managed to find a tweak that a helpful forumer posted that eliminated the stutter.
So in retrospect, are there any commands that adjust these settings in EAW through the console?

Torpid has mentioned that anything beyond the base of the main game is not within the scope of the expansion. But perhaps for a sequel.
-
Yeah, I thought that EAW was merely a "proof of concept" because it really felt like one to me. Since it took off really well, I believe that there would a remake disguised as a sequel.
The remake would probably include everything that was missing in the first game. Ability to toggle between realistic/easy gameplay for those hardcore/leisure players. Ability for assistants to manage productions.

Try to move only Vader onto that planet. Could be a mission trigger problem.
-
The SSD is nothing more than a remodeled level 5 space station. Well at least that's what I think. And the other super huge Star Destroyer will probably be uncontrollable like the Death Star.
-
Haven't played it because of Oblivion.
-
April Fool's Joke? I'm pretty damn sure that they're not going to make us PAY again for something that should have been included in the game in the first place.
-
Try to go into the volume controls within the game and set the controls to max.

If the empire never loses, then why did they lose a little thing called the Galactic Civil War?
Lol it's just a story by GL. The poll is about how many of us likes which side more than the other.
So what if the Empire lost? I think they're cool. The discipline, the seriousness, just simply my style.
-
I tried to reinstall without patching and it seems to have fixed the issue. Of course, Darth Vader and Boba Fett die too fast now...
-
Empire of course. I always loved the bad guys. They are so cool.

Why Do Rebels Have Turbo Laser Towers
It is just wierd that the rebels have turbolaser towers because arnt they the empires big guns.
If you had noticed, the turbolaser towers are manufactured by a company "Taim & Bak"
http://starwars.wikicities.com/wiki/XX-10_turbolaser_tower
I'm not sure about the accuracy of wikipedia but if I owned that company "Taim & Bak), I would have sold to both sides as well.

Has the memory leak, stuttering been fixed??
-
It would make no sense to do the clone wars, that would be going back in time not forward.
George Lucas did this. 4,5,6. 1,2,3. So I don't see why not.
-
Wait for a bit. If I remember, the fleet just randomly attacks a planet.
