  1. 3rd person throws me off in accuracy as an infantry unit, but it does give you a wider field of view, even the ability to look behind you a little, where in 1st person, you have no clue where you're getting shot from, so it counter-balances. But I still prefer 1st person. btw, nice quote in your sig biny, that show rocks.
  2. ...dang this thread is active... I stand corrected on several things, but you get my general idea. Most of America is Christian, and I would think that they would want to keep it in. Also, I would also like to point out that most of the presidents, if not all, were Christian.
  3. I didn't read everyone's reply, but I'll state my opinion, from a different perspective: The whole reason America was ever created was for religious freedom, because England wouldn't allow it. It was pretty much all christian, and when they broke away from England, the founding fathers made the US 'one nation under God' It's always been that way, and I don't see why people want to change it now instead of hundreds of years ago. Keep in mind that the majority of people in America are christian. If we take it beyond the Pledge, like the "in God we trust" imprinted on all US money, all the christians just wouldn't allow it. Decisions like this should be made by the people, how democracy is suppossed to work.

  6. What's the "take screenshot" button? I can't find it in the manual, game, or readme.
  7. I have a 6800 and the crashing really started to tick me off. After getting the latest driver it still crashed. I finally found that limiting your card acceleration by 2 or 3 notches solves the problem (right click desktop, go to the last tab, click advanced and eventually you'll find the hardware acceleration) and lowering ingame graphics.
  8. Sorry, my friend didn't have an account so he used mine, so I let him do it because I was right there. I uploaded the files to my website but I was in a hurry so i just left the extention as it was. I would have made the file a LOT smaller if I had the time and he had a decent program like Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop. Oh, and he posted on the forcemod 3 forum and got it fixed so no-one needs to post on this thread any more.
  9. I have the same problem but its with all the maps. i can see everyones saber through walls. the repeaters fire is the same as a lightsaber graphics. and at the select screen on mp when you first start the game your mouse coursor is a square! PLEASE HELP!

  11. After I installed the 1.01 patch, MP would crash on the load screen just before the main menu. SP would almost always crash after I load 2 levels (it does not crash on quickload). I tried re-installing JA then installing the patch but it does the same thing. Then I tried Tech support. They said it was my firewall that came with XP . They were wrong. Then a computer technician came over (I had other problems on my computer such as spiruses viruses and other bad stuff) and fixed everything but I did not mention JA. Does anyone know what the problem is?
  12. I just found out MP crashes on the load screen before the main menu even if I'm not running the mod.
  13. I knew asteroids_ded.bat was for dedicated servers only, but I was willing to try it anyways because the asteroids.bat was only spawning me in space, killing me. I tried deleting the asteroids folder and the .bat files and unzip the files again, but when I run asteroids.bat the game still crashes on the load screen before the main menu. What's weird is that there never was an extra space in mp/asteroids.
  14. I was playing it in TFFA and I just realised I needed to download the 1.01 update for it to work. Well.. I downloaded that and now when I load the asteroids.bat, the game crashes on the load screen for the main menu and when I load the asteroids_ded.bat file I get yet another error: JAmp: v1.0.1.0 it only for joining one? When I start a team FFA match, I just spawn in space and die instantly.
  16. I was messing around in the map with the sand worms and I noticed there were a lot of thermal detonators lying around, so I threw a couple just for the heck of it and the sand worm ate it! I threw a few more and it ate another one. Then it died. I was amazed I actually killed it. So all you have to do to kill one is to make it eat 2 thermal detonators. The sand worms won't eat them if they don't keep moving. I also found out that they won't eat you if you stand still, but once you move they'll eat you.
  17. Is Boc mentally retarded? I remember the cutscene when Jerec and his gang was taking the tiles from Morgan's workshop and Boc was just limping around and just staring into space (no pun intended). Also, when you get to the point where you fight him, he just jumps up and down kind of like a bot in a map where there is no bot routes. I just don't see how someone could have a connection with the Force if they're mentally retarded. Am I wrong or is there something behind this?

  19. I have the all the map .pk3 files in the base folder but the newer map .pk3's won't show up on the list!
  20. I downloaded several maps, installed them and they showed up on the game setup list. After downloading some more maps and installing them, I found out that the newer maps wouldn't show up. I moved some map files so they wouldn't show up on the map list and I could play on the newer maps. Well, that didn't work and I don't know what to do now. I don't know if it's the right way, but I install the map files by extracting the .pk3 file in the base directory. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
  21. the only time I cheated on JA is after I beat the game on both light and dark sides when I was just spawning stuff and fighting them for fun.
  22. There is a way to force bots to play siege. create a server and bring down the console (shift `) and put in addbot <botname> (ex. addbot desann) the only drawback is that siege mode has no bot support.
