  1. I didn't know that JO allowed for detailed skyboxes... AFAIK games that use the unreal engine are among the only that can have COMPLETE freedom in creating skyboxes (that means textures, AND brush work inside of skyboxes... for example, one of my Unreal Tournament maps featured a working 3d windmill in the background... quite nice). I wish you could do that in JO, or can you?
  2. Dialogues are fun things... but I'm not sure if it can/will be done or not. I for one wouldn't mind seeing it, and I think there could easily have been more than there was already in JO SP...
  3. Nah, it's all cool now. I have fog figured out now so that can easily be done. All in good time, the latest screenshots still don't affect the final product. Fog is no problem at all... and about the workshop... I dunno, that could be a bit difficult, mostly because the area is a bit cramped, and making it bigger than it was before would change the scale. No one said it had to be 100% accurate to the original, and as I said nothing is final so I can't see the end result of this map right now. I'll let Darth know about the sky shader issue, too. I haven't been able to work on my map lately due to some issues but I should get back to it pretty soon, and then I can explore some possible areas of further detailing, etc.
  4. Looks nice, decent detail, nothing awe-inspiring but effective. The only complaint I have is that it probably won't play very well, unfortanetely. You'll be able to view the whole map at once :/ Even with detail brushes, I'm not sure how well it will run... But on the plus side, plenty of paths and z axis fighting... that's nice. My map sure lacks that a lot, my next will be sure to have a lot of that hopefully.

  6. - For those who have seen some of the screenshots already, skip to "shot0340.jpg". - I am in need of a map tester to search out every and all bugs, and to give further advice to improve the map. I am not trying in any way to completely perfect this map, just perhaps further detail a room or two. As I need to get back to my "job", that is working for the DF mod. This map was just a small break from that. I realize that not all the effects work, and there is a bug or two that I am aware of. I wouldn't mind recreating a scene out of LOTR such as Rivendell myself, but I have my map for the DF mod to finish, maybe after that... perhaps making the Barrow-Downs (only seen in the books, for those who have actually read the books) would be interesting, for those who like creepy levels... Well after a few days of working I think I've done about 75%+ of what I want to do to the first base, then I just need to add weapons and more start points and of course the other base As I said it is nothing fancy, but should suit those hardcore players. Latest batch of screenies below, showing the whole level basically (and thus, you won't need to download it heh) Any suggestions for further detailing (but I don't really plan on adding any more rooms... perhaps a very simple extra one, but I want this to be easy to play...)   9. Hey guys... here is a very early WIP of a map of mine that is CTF. It has a bespinish theme to it, and is relitevely simple and small. Many of the rooms shown in the screenshots are quite new - the only areas I would consider anywhere near complete is the large open room and the room with several beams and a view outdoors in it. I especially am wondering how I can improve shot0315 - it just doesn't look right with all those boxy whachamacallems. This isn't my best work - keep that in mind, and I only have spent a couple of days so far...   10. Actually, fists do MORE damage than the pistol or the blaster rifle. But it is still not a very good idea to use it unless you have to. Also, in the original DF, if you punched a storm trooper while facing straight in the air it would kill him in one hit - and knock him 100 feet in the air. It is hilarious
  11. It's actually quite simple... When you are in the 2-d view, right click anywhere (but do it roughly where you want your light to be) and hit "Light". This will make you a basic light, which you can move around to your liking. You can also light your map up with light shaders (textures) which sometimes emit light. Usually, it is not very bright though. If you need more help go to http://richdiesal.jedioutcastmaps.com/tutorials/index.html (if you didn't already know about that site).
  12. As I said we'll see... but since I just got some screenies don't expect new ones immediately. I could possibly private message you a screenshot of it but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do that or not... I'll ask Darth about it.

  14. If you want my opinion, the game will be difficult in Hard as it is. I don't know about you guys, but I can't hit anything in JO I think a possible solution could be that when you finish Hard mode, that you get a special bonus mode (which is what you speak of) for those who need an extra hard challenge. I don't know how you would implement this feature though, or if it is even possible. Imagine bossks and kell dragons and DTP2's in JO's engine... *shudders*
