  1. Cheers. I'd love to get involved in the project in some way. I've recently decided to try and learn how to use Gtkradiant. Unfortunately I can't get it to work on my vista laptop, and I've tried every solution that I could find online. Anyway I guess I'll keep looking. Has anybody else ever had problems running radiant on vista?
  2. Oh yeah, it came out in 2007. You can download it over at http://www.df-21.net
  3. Hey, great to see this project is still alive. The last I read it had been abandoned. I did some texture work for you years ago, but left the project fue to other commitments. Anyway I just played through the 6 level demo and I am blown away. Great work everybody.
  4. Hi. I;ve played the demo, and I must say that I'm really impressed. I do have one or two things to say, however. 1) In DF Kyle is able to jump (clear his feet) at 8 DFUs, which is exactly the same height as many doors, and crates etc. In this version Kyle is unable to jump as high as he was in DF. Can this be fixed? 2) This version of DF is a lot tougher! This is because artificial intelligence has come a long way in 10 years. In DF the stormtroopers just wander around occasionally shooting in your general direction, and nearly always missing. In JA they are a lot smarter and a lot faster. I'm not saying you should dumb down your enemies, just that youm should keep that in mind when you are placing enemies, especially in the earlier levels. 3) The Talay map is great. I liked seeing the empty Dark Trooper pods, and the dead rebels. Might I suggest that you throw in the corpse of that Mon Calamari seen in the cutscene somewhere (if you haven't already) 4) I didn't like the voice-over used for Kyle in Talay. It sounds nothing like the real DF Kyle voice, i.e. "this is too easy, now to get to my ship". I think it should be gotten rid of. 5) The opening text crawl is nice, but the W in WARS has a little tail on it which it isn't supposed to. Also might I suggest using a proper mp3 of the Star Wars theme, rather than that awful midi version. I know it may be difficult to segue into the Dark Forces theme, but I reckon it would be better. 6) The cutscenes are well done. I hope there will be lip synching in the final version. The only thing I don't like is that default casual JO/JA pose that all npcs affect. It doesn't look right on vader or Mon Mothma. Can this be fixed? 7) Will there be fists in the final version? 8) What happened all my textures. Were they not good enough? All in all it's looking fantastic though. Keep up the good work.
  5. Archangel III - probably the longest awaited custom mission in any game. It was originally scheduled for a 97 release. This particular subject was raised recently over at DF-21. I'll let you read the post yourself: http://forums.df-21.net/viewtopic.php?t=978
  6. that's no problem. I hadn't realised that the level had been taken. I'm willing to try any level that hasn't already been started.
  7. Hi. Great to hear all the positice feedback. I actually just got a copy of Jedi Academy. I played the 3 level demo, and I really enjoyed it. Currently I'm playing the original game, but once I'm finished I'd like to get into JA editing. I want to help out as a mapper on this project. I think it'd be an easy way to learn JA editing - to pick an already designed Dark Forces level, and just try to convert it int he best wat that I can. I'm thinking maybe a level Like Fuel Station Ergo. Hopefully I'll get started at some point in the summer. Watch this space!
  8. The droid was made by somebody else, the skins are taken from Jedi Knight. The same goes for the atst model.
  9. Hi guys. Long time no see. Great to see that this project is still going ahead. I still have to get Jedi Academy, but when I do I'd certainly like to get on board again. Anyway, I'm still editing DF. Here are some shots of my latest work: And just to let you all know, the 3rd installment of the Dark Tide series will be released on July 31st.
  10. You have to extract them to view them.
  11. Cheers! I had nothing to do with parts 1 and 2, though I do recommend you download them, they're pretty amazing. To be honest there are many many decent DF addons out there, a lot of them much better than anything you'll find for JK or MoTS. Check out the hall of fame over at df-21 (my other level is in there too )
  12. No new programs are being used. I'm using new textures, and a new palette. That's probably it. Anyway, I'm glad you liked them
  13. Here are some shots of my latest work on the Dark Tide IV. These are shots of the entertainment district of Coruscant. Anybody who's played Bounty Hunter will recognise a lot of the things in these shots. http://www.thedarktide.com
  14. It's hard to tell, though it looks like it might be.
