  1. oh wow the movie sucked so bad this thread doesn't matter anymore
  2. Yeah, I heard about the casting complaints. I find it surprising that they cast a bunch of white people considering M. Night Shamwow is freakin' Indian, but what're ya gonna do? If people don't like it, they can vote with their wallet. My complaints are more along the lines of the changes they made to the film, but again, they have to compress a whole season into one movie. What're ya gonna do? Can't wait to see the film next week.
  3. From what I've read, the new 360 can't red ring anymore, it's a red dot now. Only time will tell if they've fixed the problem. I'd like to think they have. I'm sure they don't want to spend another billion dollars because they put out ****ty hardware.
  4. It's pretty good. I don't get very good signals this far from my wireless router, but wireless N really helps.
  5. I traded in my DS stuff and managed to get $150 towards this. Say what you will about GameStop, but my local store takes good care of me. I asked if they'd set one aside for me, and they did. When I finally went and picked it up, some guy called and asked if there were any left in stock. The GameSpot employee said the guy on the phone sounded so sad when he was told I was buying the last one. It apparently took them 40 minutes to sell their inventory. It was well worth the money to upgrade. It makes so little noise. Even with a disk spinning. It gets pretty hot though.
  6. Work and school, mostly. I'm being dragged to a few places for family vacation.
  7. I still have the iPhone 3G... we can get iPhone upgrades? Guess I should find out what that's about.
  8. How about we get this thread back on track by my showing off more of my Star Wars nerd cred. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Look at dem Star Destroyers! I forgot I had some of those ships. Like the Hapan Nova Battle Cruiser and the Scimitar TIE Bomber. And here's Star Trek.
  9. IGN has some good podcasts. Sadly, Extra Life Radio is over, but if you run out of stuff, you can listen to the old episodes. There's a new Penny Arcade DnD Podcast coming out. I don't know if it's your thing, but Ricky Gervais has all kinds of podcasts. They're pretty funny. Unfortunately, they're released as "audio books" or crap like that, so they cost money on iTunes.
  10. Micro Machines? I've got a crapload stuffed in a large ziplock bag somewhere. I even have Star Trek Micro Machines. There were plenty of Star Wars vs Star Trek battles when I was younger.
  11. I really shouldn't post this, but I think it's been established that I'm a huge Star Wars nerd. Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) I really need to dust, but I keep procrastinating.
  12. Wow, Transport Tycoon, that takes me back. I'll have to pick this up and give it a go. Did the original TTD have mulitplayer? I don't remember ever seeing that. We'll have to give it a try in OpenTTD.
  13. While not youtube, these are freakin' hilarious. From CollegeHumor.com Prank War Bleep Bloop (about videogames) Some highlights: Bleep Bloop: Star Wars Force Trainer Bleep Bloop: Call of Duty Nightvision Goggles Bleep Bloop: Xbox 360 Home Repair Prank War: The Yankee Prankee Prank War 7: The Half Million Dollar Shot Prank War 8: The Skydiving Prank
  14. The video reviews I've watched made me want to try Alpha Protocol less.
  15. Really, July? Sweet. The first one was awesome, and the sequel will be as well.
  16. How is this anything like EVE Online? Having played EVE for a long time, I find Inifnity looks and sounds like it'll be much more entertaining than EVE was. Combat in EVE is incredibly boring, and flying around is no fun at all. Plus, EVE doesn't let you fly on planets. At one point in the video, the guy was clicking on random stars on the screen, and information would popup showing the star's name and distance. According to the devs, every one of those stars are there, and players can visit them. It's also been mentioned that there may be a single player "sandbox" version of the game released. The game is still Pre-Alpha, so I'm definitely giving Inifinty a chance.
  17. I've been following this game for years, but it had been awhile since I visited the site. I saw that there was a new video, and after watching it, my mind was blown. About the game from the official site: Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Welcome to Infinity. Infinity is a massively multiplayer online game set in a persistent futuristic universe, currently in development. Infinity features an advanced procedural engine allowing for a seemingly infinite galaxy of unique star systems and planets to discover and explore, including seamless planetary landing. Infinity offers new and existing players an extensive storyline following the complex and often intricate political and social interactions of hundreds of corporations, organizations, and reputation groups through the games three primary factions: the Centauran, the Deltan Federation, and the Star Fold Confederacy. Infinity employs an open-ended world design, in which a player can control everything from a small shuttle to massive military dreadnaught, a single mining operation to an entire vast corporate empire, all without having to change characters. A completely player-skill based game design, Infinity sheds the need for character classes and skills by embracing self-balance over arbitrary limitation, allowing players to choose their own path to make their name across the galaxy. Although all players are expected to act in concordance with their personal motivations, Infinity is not a traditional role playing game. The actions of a single player greatly affect the evolution of their character. Your character might grow from their humble beginnings as a young military officer to become the master of a vast corporate empire, or even a wanted mercenary and pirate. The game mechanics do not emphasize any particular game play style - combat, trade, exploration, social relationships, you are free to choose your own path and goals. Players can choose from a number of interesting character backgrounds that serve as your characters personal history, circumstances, and setting in the Infinity universe to help ground new players in their new boundless horizon of stars. The only limit is your own imagination! Combat in Infinity functions in real-time, utilizing Newtonian physics to control the fluid realistic movements of player ships and objects. Where the outcome of combat is determined by your own intelligence and reflexes. Not the level and class of another player! Like all massively multiplayer online (MMO) games, you will connect to an online server shared by thousands of other players at any time. But, unlike other MMOs, the Infinity universe is an entirely persistent. The actions of your characters do not stop when you log off - as the actions of your characters continue to progress and evolve, even while you are offline. By utilizing the advanced procedural techniques of the I-Novae Engine, Infinity has unshackled itself from the limitations of its forbearers, allowing for the dynamic generation of countless star systems and planets, each unique and awaiting to be discovered by a player. Drawing upon plausible astronomic scales and distances of stellar objects, the precise orbital path of every celestial body is modeled, as each planet and star moves continuously within the galaxy. Allowing players to glimpse the double sunrise of a binary star system on some distant rocky world, to the total eclipse of a tiny moon orbiting a massive gas giant thousands of light years from your home planet - every vista, every horizon is wholly unique in Infinity. Screenshots: Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Anyone interested in space sims should really check Infinity out.
  18. Eh, the movie won't bother me. If I can separate Bioware's "canon Shepard" from my version, watching canon Shepard on the big screen isn't going to be a problem. The problem will be whether or not the movie will suck. I guess we'll find out how much power the doctors have in regards to their executive producer roles. I'm sure they don't want a movie with their name on it to suck as bad as other video game films.
  19. Just played some awesome multiplayer. Much lulz was had. I especially liked it when someone drove the stagecoach off a cliff, and when I tried to drive a stagecoach across a railway bridge. Anyone know how if cash made in multiplayer goes to your single player wallet? I could have sworn I made like 700 bucks the first time I played MP, but just now, I don't think any money transferred into single player.
  20. I watched far too many of their youtube videos than I should have... It looks cool though. It'll definietely be hard to spot without a lightbar. Might make speeders think twice if they can't keep an eye out. According to one of the tube videos, they're hidden in the side mirrors and are controlled via the joystick in the center console. The voice commands are a nice touch. I bet cops driving those are going to get a lot of knight rider jokes. Too bad it'll take forever for law enforcement to actually get their hands on the E7 (no budget for it?). By the time they do, we'll be driving flying cars or something.
  21. I was attacked by a pack of wolves and my horse died... I promptly proceeded to skin it and the dead wolves.
  22. If anything, she and her family are probably in huge danger from muslim extremists :-/
