  2. On a semi-related note, has anyone read Dante's Equation? I just finished it, and found it quite excellent. I found the ending to be a bit too tidy, but the trip was great nonetheless. I reccomend it. Jane has quite the talent for blending stuff together. Must give her mad propers for that. And to go more on topic, that image is pretty nifty.
  3. Does anybody but me remember the old, old, old school layout? I barely recall it. I seem to think it was white and blue. But I AM colorblind. Oh, and I think there were frames. This was all back before AG even had it's own domain. Those were the days...
  4. Wow. Uhh... not even sure how to respond to that. Personally, I think it's a big deal that I can't think of a single story like that. But maybe I'm just not well read.
  5. I think the box for GK2 is my favorite. It's all haunting and creepy and nifty. Oh, and bad-ass.
  6. I really couldn't disagree anymore. I'm not sure whether you refer to the endgame portion or the ending of the plot, but either way I disagree. The endgame portion makes perfect sense in context, and isn't like an "alien world". The pendulum puzzle was a bit of a pain, but really not that bad in the big scheme of things. And as far as the ending goes, I found it to be one of the most amazing endings in any game ever. It's one of the few endings that have made me go "HOLY CRAP!" It was quite excellent.
  7. That's just ridiculous. You can't expect retailers to raise your kids for you. Believe it or not, there ARE ways to monitor what your child buys. One way would be to not give him money, and make sure you approve all purchases. Retail guidelines should never be a substitute for parenting ability.
  8. I love Penny Arcade. It hasn't been quite as funny in recent weeks as it has in the past, but it's still amusing.
  9. Completely unrelated to the topic at hand, but just had to comment on Samandmax's sig. Mars Volta rocks quite heartily, and Televators is quite the song. Have you ever heard anything by the band Dredg? If you like Mars Volta, I'd bet you'd like Dredg as well.
  10. I remember my first day. Spent a lot of time just learning rules and making introductions and whatnot. I pity you, just starting high school. Thank goodness I'm almost done. I'm counting the days until graduation.
  11. This is a moderately abstract question, but stick with me. How do you approach problem solving in a game? Genre doesn't really matter that much - this is more about your nature than the game's. Do you analyze before you act? Follow along exactly what you were told by whoever gave you your mission? Explore thoroughly before deciding what to do? Or something totally different? As an example of what I'm talking about, I'll describe my typical approach. The first thing I do is explore as much as possible. Since I'm a very observant person, I tend to find answers before I have the questions. As in, I'll see a gap, and will go find a ladder to cross it before I even know what's on the other side. This method screws me over sometimes, as I sometimes miss plot bits, but it's instinctual. How about the rest of you?
