  1. Nah you just ****ed up Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast with your POS Vulcan's rehash. And in turn, you pretty much gave birth to the whole admin mod scene/mess in these two games. How so? Fact: most jk2/ja server admins were morons who could not (nor ever did) figure out the base quake 3 engine console/rcon commands. Doubt that? Go find me 5 server admins who know how to ban in base jk2/ja. You will be looking for years. How do you fit into this? You took the Vulcan's admin mod (I was not a big fan of this, but it was complicated enough that only 2 out of 10 star wars nerd server admins could figure it out and hence, it was not a really big grief issue for us players) and made it pretty much point and click "soccer mom on AOL" user friendly. Actually, didn't you put in something stupid like a point and click "admin gun" or something at one point? How the hell could you not see how making a mod that allowed for 900 admins (by using the sub admin system and not having to give out true rcon) and gave them the ability to slap/sleep/choke/explode/kick/ban players with simple "/kickban" commands not cause problems? Of course you saw it, but you wanted to make a name for yourself as a mod maker and did not give a **** about what you did to the community. just as long as your mod had the highest download count over there at jk2files.com right? Hence the reason why everyone who bought either of these games with the intention of actually getting to play them online, will look at you now and forever... as a dildo.
  2. It's a shame there are not more open-minded guys like you in the jk2/ja community. If there were, a lot of us "competitive" players would not have moved on to various other games. Most of us (including myself) loved the jk series but absolutely hated the bitter, whiny community that populated it. For us, the "fun" was in trying to be the best at what we did, hands down. We competed against like minded people non-stop across various gaming leagues and ladders, both here in the States and even some European leagues. And as I'm sure you could guess, when a person spends about 99.9% of their time playing the best players on the globe, they get good. Really good. I'm not saying that to brag or put anyone down, but in jk2 (and even my brief time in ja) I found the average "public server clan/player" to be nothing even close to what I would call a challenge. The reason I'm saying this is I want to try and show you why a lot of "us" tend to "mess with the public server crowd". It's been this way since day one in jk2: We just log onto a server for a game, we never say a word... but as usual we get screwed with just for being better than the average public server player. I'm not talking about the usual "hack" cries you hear in gaming in general; I'm talking about vile, bitter newbie rage that almost always degrades into personal/sexual/racial attacks. I can't even begin to recall the number of times I found myself (hell I've posted countless demos here on these forums) being put to sleep, slapped, frozen, turned into a wombat, racially insulted, and just generally treated like crap... all for the crime of bursting a public server player's ego bubble and showing him there are far better players out there than he knew about. Now don't get me wrong, a lot of competitive players are assholes, I'll be the first to admit it. But guys like media (and myself when I played this game) just want to log on, get in some good games and have fun. But it's almost like we have to deliberately screw up and play half-assed just to make it through a session without being insulted or screwed with via some admin mod command. After a while, it just gets old so we start "messing with you people" as well. Hence you start seeing "ownage" demos of clans being posted, players being publicly made fun of, etc. It's really no different than the way we are treated by most clans/players on public servers. I'm not saying it makes it right, but long story short, it's just a case of "screw with me, I screw with you".
  3. oh yeah, all those screens josh posted are b.s. he photoshopped all of the scores. you jsa guys should do a match with some of these fk newbies, like a 4v4 or something. use force too, they suck at it. own those fk n00bs and demo it. -==L<>O<>L==-
  4. I'm game. Never played siege a single time, but if it has guns and it requires aim to kill things, I have no doubt this will be a breeze. set it up.
  5. Star wars nerd raging is without a doubt the single most rewarding element of the Jedi knight series.
  6. You know, I bet Chewbacca gets those little turd dingle-nuggets on his fur after he wipes his ass. Not sure why I thought of that though. Hi media, long time no see. Don't bother arguing with the people around here about game play mechanics, remember 9 out of 10 people who post here would perform oral on George Lucas for a look at the episode 3 script. p.s. Rumor is a fruit for pissing off the *BS* newbies and having them scrap our match.
  7. heh I know it's hard to break a setup once you get used to it. One of the things I hear the most about my setup is: "You don't use mouse2 for alt fire? mouse2 is your forward? wtf?! But most really "old school" gamers who have played first person shooters since the early days know where the "mouse2 = forward" comes from. Back then, in games like doom/quake there was no such thing as "alt fire" and the default key for forward was always mouse2. I got used to it so long ago, I just never bothered to try forward movement on a keyboard. The back movement on my mouse seemed logical to me as well (by the time I ditched the joystick for a mouse/keyboard combo, multiple button mice were pretty common).
  8. WASD noobs, no wonder you people were so easy to own. Just kidding, here are my basic control settings from jk2/ja. movement bind MOUSE2 "+forward" bind MOUSE5 "+back" (thumb button) bind A "+moveleft" bind D "+moveright" bind SPACE "+moveup" bind SHIFT "+movedown" power hot keys bind C "+force_lightning" bind E "force_throw" bind F "force_seeing" bind Q "force_pull" bind R "force_rage" bind S "+force_drain" bind W "+force_grip" combat keys bind MOUSE1 "+attack" bind MOUSE3 "+altattack" bind X "saberAttackCycle" mouse settings seta sensitivity "40" seta m_pitch "-0.022000" seta m_filter "1"
  9. in review: 1-I told you people that all these mod makers care about is being a big fish in a little toilet, anything for that 15 minutes huh guys? 2-Chosen one is a child molester who hangs out in wal-mart parking lots baiting 9 year olds into his van, shoot him if you ever see him. 3-Watching people who name themselves after ****ing lord of the rings characters flame people is like watching two nerds cock fight at a d&d convention. please shut the **** up and go jerk off to some jap cartoon you ****head.
  10. could jk2/jka ever be as popular as die hard fps' like ut or q3? No of course not, but not everything has to be based on sheer #'s. But even being smaller, it could have still had a thriving player community for much longer than it did. Look at tribes. Old game, smaller than the giant player base games like counter-strike, but it has one of the best and most active community bases around. The reason jk2/a "died" was simply this: connecting to servers and playing (ie: killing other players) became looked upon almost along the lines of something like game hacking/aimbotting. You pop down 39.99 for a game, fire up multiplayer for some action... and see: "You are banned from this server." everytime you try and play online almost anywhere. Why would people stick around in that atmosphere? Even as bad as the abusive admin commands were, I still say the single worst thing to ever happen to this series was the /kickban command. It made it too easy for 9 year old kids who were too stupid or not trustworthy enough for rcon, to just "make go bye-bye" anything and anyone who did not conform to their little play world.
  11. well we are not really "back" in the normal sense. most of the original SF (and later shock ~) guys are not playing full time. we have all pretty much branched into other games but for old times sake, some of us decided to give jka another run in our spare time. SF does have two servers up and you will see some old names on a few ladders here and there, but don't expect to see the monster game play we had in jk2 in our prime. A lot of us (like myself) have not touched the game since it came out, but I'm sure in very short time we will be raging noobs across the servers just like the old days.
  12. Hate to say we told you so... but we did and 99% of you refused to listen. Amidala may not have the "***hole gene" that some of us guys have, but I have to give her credit for holding out this long and trying to make things better for as long as she has. The rest of you though... dismissed us as "arrogant" or "full of ourselves" but when we told you this "how dare you take the time to learn & play the game better than me, I'm going to ban your lamer ass" attitude started showing up on public servers, more of you people should have done something about it. It all started back with the jk2 vulcan's admin mod and reached a boiling point with what was the AIDS in the blood of this community: Jedi Academy mod for jk2. You guys have been jumping on this slider guy for months now, but you are about a year and a 1/2 late on your crusade. That chosen one jackass and his mod did more damage to this community than any other group of people or mod did. When the dickhead-admin mentality started popping up, here came his mod to reward them with new "punishment" features in each version after version and of course the retards snatched it up like a crackhead does $5 rocks. Yet almost none of you would speak up against him and what he was doing back then and the current state of things would not be as bad as they are if the rest of you would have spoken up like the competitive community did. Sure some of you would say in general, "abusive admin mods are bad" but you never had the acorns to name names and put the spotlight on the people who were putting them out week after week. But then again, it was just us being "elite pricks" for picking on the mod makers/admins/honor dorks right? Oh sure chosen made his mod for JA and removes the punishment features because he "learned from the mistake he had made with those commands in jk2"... right, anyone want to buy a bridge I'm selling? The rest of you finally caught on to what we had been preaching from day one and put some heat on the guy as well as these other mod makers. And guess what? It worked like we told you it would. Being "popular" with the general community is what mod makers thrive for. If they are praised and can say "I have the most popular mod in the series" you think they are going to change anything? Bash them like the pricks that they are (for making a mod that they know harms the community, yet continue to put it out to feed their ego) and stop public support of their mod and watch how things change. Just like they did with our pal chosen one all of a sudden. Sure there will always be guys who continue to pump out this grabage, but you people could have made a difference if you spoke up and acted long ago, you know back then when you were making fun of us for doing just that? My point? None really. Post your little jpeg image replies, make your snide remarks, post your game spy server/player stats and try to prove me wrong, but in the end you know I'm right. This community is dead and you have yourself to blame for it.
  13. After 2 years could one of you euros please tell me why you guys use these silly ass binds: [JK2]GOOD-FIGHT!!!===|||***L*O*L***|||===GOOD-FIGHT!!![JK2] I will say one thing about euros though, as a whole they have a much more serious minded/mature community when it comes to competitive gaming. Having moved into Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, the American ET community is far behind the euros. Don't get me wrong, we have as much skill on our side of the globe as they do, but we have so much constant bickering and fighting (not to mention more ego problems than you could ever hope to count) going on in the community, it really prevents us from evolving as a whole. When I played Jk2 I did play many of the U.K./German top players and yes, like vert said, they did suck compared to us (in ff/so). But the one thing that really surprised me, was how level headed the guys I played were. They lost, said "gg" and moved on. No bitching or moaning, no excuses, no running to euroforums.com and begging for patches. Over here? Every match was like a 30 minute soap opra. I guess my point is, most euros tend to treat competitive gaming like a "professional sport" where as most americans treat it like a "personal fist fight".
  14. Well to be honest, the off topic conversation was between myself and Jack; it didn't concern any of you. You didn't have to read it, you didn't have to comment on it, and quite frankly, the opinions of a bunch of pimply faced teenage dragon ball Z fans who sit around masturbating to LotR and Matrix movie trailers means very little to me. And Jack, my statement about taking adult education classes still stands my friend. Being a person that hires individuals for a living, I can tell you that if your resume or personal presentation skills are anything like what I've encountered here, I would strongly suggest foregoing the corporate world and continue your current focus on menial labor as a lifelong career option. Anyways, I've made my point. You people are by and large morons, have a nice day.
  15. 1-I'm by no means a "kid", I've been on my own and supporting myself since I was 18 (10 years now). 2-Although I did receive a scholarship, (which I did earn through hard work and dedication to my academics) I paid my own way through college by working full time as I went to school full time. 3-I would say that I have accomplished quite a bit in life so far. At the age when most of my peers were just moving out of their parent’s basements or finishing up their stint at a local community college, I was putting a down payment on my house. I can honestly say that I live quite comfortably and am very proud of the level of financial security I've built for myself. Everything I have in life, I have worked my ass off for and I don’t feel the least bit guilty about it. 4-It's just a game to me as well, don't turn it personal and I won't. I, like anyone try to enjoy a simple diversion from the day to day bull**** of life by playing a fun game. The problem comes when no matter what I do, I have to listen to you people piss moan and whine about everything people like myself and side are able to do in these silly games that you can't. Not to mention, we routinely are denied even the ability to play this silly game because whiny, bitter newbie's just /kickban anything they can't cope with. I've been gaming online since the concept was born guy, and I've never seen a more bitter, childish, jealous, and just generally dysfunctional community than what I've witnessed in Outcast/Academy. I mean really, how on Earth do you people expect a community to grow and thrive when the number one goal of mod makers, and most requested feature for mods, is the ability to ban players from servers with zero effort? 5-Jack just a friendly suggestion, take some remedial reading/grammar courses along with those Jiu-Jitsu classes, you're somewhat lacking in the department of the written word for a person your age.
  16. See this newbie right above side's post ^ ? That mentality is the reason why this community is in the toilet. 1-I'm willing to bet he has no clue that there was a much larger world in this game outside of his little role playing honor servers. A world where thousands of players only played this game for the sole purpose of competing against each other globally to prove who is the absolute best in this game. 2-To this guy, being "the best ever" probably means being some jackass newbie that ran around on FFA servers going "press k duel me!" He has no clue just how fierce and active the competitive scene once was in this series, and he sure as hell would never be able to compete in that scene himself with his idiotic newbie attitude. 3-The fact is, in most games getting better is something most players strive for, not to mention, other players actually look up to those who do have skill instead of bashing them constantly. But oh no, not in this community, the better you get, the more **** you have to listen to from these whiny star wars geeks who always want to bitch, piss and moan about every damn thing their fat stubby little fingers can't react fast enough to. "whaa whaaa kicks are lame/back stab whores/DFA spammers/lightning whores whaaa whaaa" Breaking news: Most of you, hell damn near all of you sucked at Outcast and suck at Academy. Did you ever compete against me or clans like [div3rse] or FK/SF in the last year and a half? No? Then you never saw just how far “the other half” took this game. Sorry, it's true, you people did and do suck badly compared to people like side and myself and our respective clans. But you would not know that would you? Of course not. The second one of us comes to your little RPG servers and starts raping you; we get kicked and banned almost instantly. Oh and god knows you newbie's won't dare set foot on our servers, you know the ones where people actually... play and do nothing else. I loved watching you people accidentally connect to our servers from time to time, have your ass handed to you, then the standard "FAGGOT PUSSY LAMERS" right before you did the /disconnect. JediCrow or whatever your name is, the sad fact is you are a bitter newbie who never accomplished **** in this game and look for every opportunity to lash out at those who did. Just a simple dime a dozen random no-name newbie, like so may I have encountered before. Does saying that make me an elitist asshole? Sure, but you know what? I earned that right. Everyone else who had a flawless record for a year and a half of competitive 1v1 league/ladder play, please raise their hand. Don't see many hands going up other than mine. Hell, even the "great" ArtifeX could not hang with people past 1.02... You newbie's like to bow? Then bow before the people who did and always will own your happy ass.
  17. side just give it a rest bro, this game was stillborn and we all knew it from the day we first saw the beta in action. Lucas Forums is full of mainly star wars fans, not serious gamers. You're never going to get people here to understand that there are people like us, who played this game because it was unique diversion from traditional first person shooters. For them (and the people left in this community) it's all about reenacting the star wars experience, hence the childish hostility you receive from them when you interrupt their role playing sessions on public FFA servers or these forums. For whatever reason Raven decided to take the game in this "role playing" direction to appease this section of the community. Oddly enough Outcast had far grater sales in the first few months than Academy has had/will have in the months to come, had/will have a much larger/longer lasting, thriving community than Academy will ever have, but **** happens man, it was just not meant to be. They listened to newbie’s before and got ****ty patches; they did it again and got a game that has less people buying/playing it (only 4 months after release, no less) than some games that have been around 4 years do. Side you and I could sit here and debate for hours on who the best players and clans were in Outcast because it had such a large and thriving skilled player base, hell it would take us hours just to agree on the players/clans from each patch. But Jedi Academy? Heh, simple answer. No one ever accomplished anything in this game; no one cared about it because it was so damn flawed. Just let it go man, let the newbie’s have their darth yoda orgies on ffa servers and do what most of us have, move on into gaming communities that have more than 2 decent servers and 12 good players. Just remember side, people like us, [div3rse], {FK}, Sanguis Frater, we pioneered the moves and game play tactics that these idiots bitch about and it was that extra effort we put in that allowed us to dominate anyone and everyone we ever faced in both of these games. I’m perfectly content going out on top; I suggest you consider that option man, because if you’re looking for a rebirth of the good old days of full servers full of elite players, it’s never going to happen. So add me to the list of "I told you so" because, I actually did way back but none of you wanted to listen. Ok, now I'm really done.
  18. And where did I say I expected all of the servers to be set to my preferred settings? What I am saying is, if all people encounter when they play multiplayer in this game is stupid crap like being suspended in mid-air by an invisible grip, being called a "faggot lamer" then being banned from a server... all for the inexcusable crime of trying to play this online game as it is listed in the manual (you know stuff like "kill enemies to score points", I do believe that is in there), then those people are finally going to just give up and say screw this game and quit. Things like that tend to not be isolated incidents and in case you didn't notice or were not around back before VAM, as the number of servers running admin mods went up, the overall player base went down quite rapidly. People became annoyed because it became almost utterly impossible to find servers that would just let you play the game so they just said screw it and left for other games that did not punish people for playing them. Those of you who were around before the admin mod crap reared it's ugly head can and will remember just how large and thriving this community was compared to the almost barren, dysfunctional state it is in now. You know what, never mind. Trying to get any rational point across to people in this community is like trying to teach a retarded monkey the finer points of ballet dancing. I mean this is a community that by and large, insults and bans players for joining game servers and playing. You people deserve the empty servers you created, really you do. To those of you LF regulars who I knew/joked around with, if you are staying in this game good luck and have as much fun as possible (give Kurgan a raise too). To those of you I competed against, great games it was a blast. Feel free to stop by our ET/UT2003 servers and give me a shout if you play either game, but I'm done with this community it's just gotten too small and too small minded for my tastes.
  19. The reason people care about it is due to what it (the mods and the punishment stuff) did in the past and many people are trying to prevent the same fiasco from happening twice. It drove an incredibly large number of players out of the game and greatly reduced the size of the numbers of players playing at any given time. Don't get me wrong, you are going to have dickhead admins in any game you go to, but when you give those whiny dickheads the ability to "point and click ban" and/or basically use some form of pseudo god mode that has no other purpose than humiliating other players, those players who paid 49.99 for a game and just want to connect to servers and play and have a good time are going to get fed up and quit. And if it's a common occurrence from server to server like it was for some time, they will just move on to another game where they don't have to put up with childish admins turning them into exploding kangaroos and calling them fags before they get banned on 9 out of 10 servers.
  20. I'm not trying to say the guy should not be pissed if some very specific thing he made for his mod was directly ripped and passed off as another’s work, let's make sure that is clear. But my point was/is, him coming here and trying to lay claim to a lot of basic admin mod concepts that have been around far longer than his mod has and then trying to start a "boycott" because there are other mods using these basic universal concepts, just as his mod/VAM borrowed them from the admin mods that predated Jedi Outcast, that’s just plain arrogance and hypocrisy. Not to mention that there were scores of admin mods almost identical to his in Outcast, but I never once saw any “boycott” threads made by him (could this be due to the fact that at the time his mod was far more popular then the others, but that is not the case anymore?) This thread was nothing more than a cheap ploy to try and get a better hold on his little "most popular Jedi Mod" crown. And as I have said all along, he does not give a damn what he did/does to the community with his mod so long as he can say "I'm the author of the most popular mod for Jedi Outcast/Academy".
  21. Great, if some specific line of code was stolen, say that and stick with it. But don't generalize and try to b.s. people by saying "he stole slap/easy kicking-banning/player id info/motd/general broadcast/w/e" because those things have been around in admin mods before Jedi Outcast was even released.
  22. The things I see in JAR, I see in other mods in other games so it's not like any ground breaking revolutionary concept is being developed and stolen here. Vulcan's was not the first admin mod in gaming nor was it the first to feature sub admin levels and "admin powers" like slap etc. There were 326387263871263812763812638 admin mods for JO and to be honest, the only difference I saw in them was this one could let the admin turn players into polar bears, that one let the admin turn them into exploding frogs, etc. This one you sleep with XYZ_command, that one you sleep with ABC_command. Same thing over and over in all of them and the same things I see in other mods like shrub for RTCW or w/e in this or that game. These have all been done time and time again in other games and other admin mods, long before I saw it done in JO/VAM so if you’re going to claim he ripped you guys off, where did you guys get it from? You're saying you guys invented this stuff? You're saying I never saw it in RTCW or other games before I saw it in JK2? Now looking at JA, =X= mod's very first (and most requested feature) goal was to reintroduce the JO style flip kick. Are all the other mods now doing it? Sure, but I don't see Hex crying that "kicks are mine you can't do it in your mod!" It's this way in any game with these mods, one person puts one out, 87484794874984 clones pop up with a few new features. And as for looking for sympathy for what is going on now? Well, your mod and it's hybrids caused a tremendous amount of damage to the Outcast community with the admin punishment commands. not to mention the way you never took any responsibility for the damage they were causing or even admitted it publicly *until Jedi Academy came out when the player backlash of the damage they caused had reached a breaking point. Sorry guy, I really can't say I feel the least bit sorry for you. If these people are ripping off stuff that you never should have put out in the first place, like they say, you made your bed... you know the rest. And I really think that is what this boils down to for you. In Outcast your mod had just as many if not more “clones” than it does now, but I don’t recall seeing any posts of this nature from you on here back then. But now that you have removed most of the punishment stuff, looking at the server list in ASE, I’m seeing the numbers of JA+ servers and JAR servers being quite close (although yours still does outnumber his). Could it be you know that those commands are what drew people to your mod in such overwhelmingly droves and now that another mod is doing it and yours is not, you don’t have as much of a hold on the “most popular admin mod” as you once did? I think so.
  23. 1- you're clan was challenged by myself (while in shock ~) quite a few months back (back when you had those old yellow and grey forums, and yes wowie would not play us once he found out the caliber of the people your team would be up against, nor would he accept the challenge from {FotS}DawnFire to play them either. 2-NT played us (FK) and was shut out, as in they didn't even get on the score board. They lost so badly that they accused our team of "teleport hacking" or some asinine thing like that (even though the match was played on their server which we have no admin/rcon to). The funny part is they played our *CTF team, NOT the guys who specialize in TeamFFA, that being my division. Had they have played my squad; it would have been around 100 to -80. There used to be screens and demos of the match on their forums (inside this link) but I believed they deleted them and now claim it never took place. http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=105408 3-Consider this a friendly challenge now, I will bring 3 members of FK, you bring 5 *BS*. Best 2 out of 3 maps. Full force. saber only. Default damage and regen settings. No stupid admin/rcon crap. 20 minute time limit per map. no kill limit. (Standard league settings btw ^) Your team will get negged off the map I guarantee. Don’t start flaming people in here and try to get the topic closed, man up and accept the challenge. You claim to “own all”, prove you can back it up. I guarantee you can’t and won’t even accept the challenge or show up for a match.
  24. I'm just curious as to why you guys will never accept matches from actual competitive gaming clans. Various clans from leagues such as {FotS}, shock ~, g//, and countless others have challenged you over the past year in Outcast countless times. Yet for some reason the only clans you are ever willing to accept matches with are role playing newbie clans like NT. I personally tried to get your semi-literate leader wowie into a match with us (shock ~) on your own forums quite a few months back. It all looked good until a few of your guys came to our server and saw us play... suddenly it became "not worth your time" and you backed out of the match so fast you left skid marks. Look I "get" the whole "we own you all" thing, it's tongue & cheek humor obviously. But you guys really should step up and accept challenges from the true competitive clans in this community now and then rather than hide from them like you have done over the last year and a half. I agree a lot of the people who get pissed at you guys are noobs who do not know they are being screwed with, but why your clan will only play in matches against crappy rpg clans... well it just makes you guys kind of a sad joke among the actual clans who can and do play this game well.
