@Jake, I am ecstatic that you are involved with that one and that someone was smart enough to let you.
I also have received my Loom LR edition but I haven't opened it up yet so I can't confirm the included versions but I don't have a reason to doubt it either.
And I also have received my "This Time It's Virtual" box but have also had already-released items held up because I had lots in my one order.
@Lagomorph01 can you check if you have other items with that specific order?
Limited Run Games started an initiative recently to allow users to have half-orders shipped separately but you have to make that effort with their shipping distributor.
I didn't order anything else when I ordered This Time It's Virtual. However I do have Grim Fandango and Return to Monkey Island pre-ordered as well. The order status still says "In Production" for all three of them.

It's strange to me that something Limited Run announced a year ago is already being received, while Sam and Max This Time It's Virtual, ordered May 26th 2022, is still nowhere to be found. I've got 3 things in pre-order there, and still not a word about it.

Wow! This is one was on my wishlist! Thank you so much, Laserschwert, it looks fantastic! So clear!

I'm not really getting an Indiana Jones vibe off this, I don't know if it's because of the first person action (although it doesn't help), or that something else feels off.
I think I know what feels off to me now. It's the acting. The voice isn't all that bad, although it's definitely no Harrison Ford, but the acting just isn't Indy. The way Indy talks in this trailer sounds more Nathan Drake-ish (or in this case, his brother from part 4) than Indiana-ish.

Kinda bummed about the fact that it's first person. I'm not really into first person games, and the whole thing with the whip looks a bit wonky. I'm not really getting an Indiana Jones vibe off this, I don't know if it's because of the first person action (although it doesn't help), or that something else feels off. Also, the casting choice of Troy Baker seems a bit uninspired, and after the Nazi at the beginning, Indy looks a bit 'wooden' in his facial animations.
Based on the trailer, I don't think this game is for me.

Now that I see it as a beanie, I finally realise that it's supposed to be a nose and a closed mouth underneath it. In the game, I always thought the pink part was an open mouth with teeth, as if it was screaming. I must've thought the lines underneath were a chin or something... Thank you, LRG.
Anyway, I hope some of my pre-orders get shipped sometime soon too. I ordered the Sam and Max It's Virtual physical edition almost 2 years ago now.

Yeah, I'm really glad I got a disc version too! (And with Dutch subtitles, which is a rarity for any Disney-disc these days!)
I recently rewatched the movie and I still love it! It's not a perfect film, but I really like where they took the character and I still think the de-aging part is justified. Also it's a much better conclusion to a series of films than KotCS.
On another note, I read something about the 'original' ending (which was abandoned in the writing phase and never filmed):
Appearantly the last act would have taken Indy and Helena to Germany in World War II and Indy would have to protect Hitler from Jurgen Völler. While I do like the role reversal, and I would've loved to see it play out, I think in a broader scope for Indy as a character, and as his ending chapter, the version they shot works better.
Does anyone know if the original ending can be found somewhere for a good read?

Brilliant! I've never seen any of these before! You keep amazing me, Laserschwert!

Yeah, I understand. It would be nice to get an MP3 version of this though. I just love how small and intimate it is. Reminds me of the album Nighthawks at the Diner by Tom Waits.

This is absolutely fantastic!!! Where can I get an album version, so I can listen to it in my car?

Thank you for the kind words.
I plan to start releasing all of my interviews as podcasts on Spotify / Apple Podcasts / etc. at the beginning of 2024 and from that point on, I'll release every interview as a podcast about a month after its YouTube premiere (I don't want to lose any YouTube views as they are important to the growth of our channel)
If you use YouTube Premium, then you can listen to YouTube videos in the background.
Thanks for your reply! I look forward to the podcast versions, and I'll make sure to watch some parts of them on Youtube, so you'll get your views! It's the least you deserve for your fantastic, hard work!

Hi Daniel, really enjoying your Steve Purcell interview! I listen to it in small chunks because my life doesn't really give me four hours to sit through in one take, but it is excellently conducted and really detailed. My compliments!
Question: is there a way to listen to only the audio portions of your interviews, like a podcast? I like to listen to podcasts when I'm in the car and that way, I'd be able to enjoy a lot more of your interviews. I like that you show the artwork that you're talking about in the video's, but in my case, 9 out of 10 times I can already see the artwork in my mind, so that wouldn't be a difficulty.

I've wanted the Max plushie ever since I first saw it, but alas, the shipping costs were too much for me...
Now Uncute has given me two wanna-but-never-will-have's to gawk my eyes out at while pretending to work. Oh, life, you can be so cruel... cuddly but cruel*.
*Come to think of it, Cuddly but Cruel is a great album title!

Hi everyone, I don't know if you've seen this, but appearantly Telltale games is still a thing! Did you know that? I thought they went belly up a couple of years ago.
Anyway, there's some news reports that state that this undead company is dying all over again! Can anyone tell me if a LeChuck joke is appropriate or not?
Anyway, sad news for the people involved. Let's hope the staff members that got layed off find some new jobs soon.

I haven't played any of the chapters, but I understand that Elaine's voice has been recast? Anyone know who it is? Any word on why Alexandra Boyd returned for ReMI, but not for this?

Same! Season 3 has been a significantly more rude game to remaster, technically. It did things with the Telltale Tool that are basically unsupported in modern versions that use a more modern rendering pipeline. We have conscripted three ex-Telltale engine/graphics programmers to help bend the modern engine to our will, but it has taken a lot of annoying and uncertain experimentation.
It's good to hear you guys are taking your job so seriously, Jake! I'm sure this will be a fantastic remaster! Take all the time, we'll be waiting. 🙂

Isn't recording voice overs one of the last phases in making a game? I mean, if you've got the text, you're able to see where the story goes, and you can work from there. You'd want the actors to come in at the very last point, because after that you can't change any lines anymore (or else it'd be a pretty pricey change).

Just finished the first one! I think it's a very funny pick up and play adventure game!
It could've used a bit more polish though. The loading times (at least on Switch) are way too long for such a graphically simple game, and every time you load all your dialogue choices are reset. Even worse, every time you reset the game, the cursor speed goes back to default (read: way too slow). This wouldn't be a problem on Switch if it didn't start having frame hiccups after you put your console in sleep mode. Gameplay wise it could've used a bit more clearity on what you were supposed to do. I didn't have to resort to a walkthrough though, so it's not a very big deal.
Having said that, the cases are smart and have a good length, the interactions (especially between Detective McQueen and Officer Dooley) are hilarious and it has some nice little winks to the ye olde LucasArts catalogue, without overly relying on it. I'm gonna let this sink in a bit and then come back for the sequel.

These are so good. I think the Royale ones are my favorites.
Wow! That looks amazing!
Are the Royale shaders optional downloads? I can't seem to find them in my ScummVM options.

Since you’re all so positive I’ve bought them and preloaded them on Switch. I’m kinda done with Zelda at the moment, so I’ll probably start playing this weekend.
I’m looking forward to it. Thanks!

I've seen this game in a Nintendo Direct somewhere, and wanted to make a mental note of it, but after that I forgot all about it. Thanks for reminding me, I might check this out if I ever finish Zelda.

Something you may or may not want to include: MI2 introduced parallax scrolling in the foreground, although I think they only did it for the ship hull in the foreground in Woodtick. FOA has quite a few more instances of it: The lamp post in New York, a palm tree and roof in the Azores, a rope in the Algiers Dig Interior, etc. I guess those might be considered part of the "background", although the parallax nature of them complicates things when representing the background as a still image, of course. 😁 Because objects (generally) can't really change their position within a room, these parallax effects were implemented with actors and costumes, rather than object images. I've attached the cels for those costumes (I may not have identified all of them), just in case. Ship hull in woodtick; roof in the Azores; palm in the Azores; pillar in the orichalcum machine room; rock in the lava pool room; rope in Algiers Dig interior; lamp post in New York.
Wasn’t SMI the first game to do so? I remember the ship in the Governor’s Mansion really coming at you, and a friend of mine actually got startled by it.
Other than that, cool project! And it’s great that you’re so thorough on it, JPL!

We’re gonna need a bigger opening post. 😉

Not playing the game myself, bit I am curious. Does anyone know if Jess Harnell voices LeChuck in this, or did they get someone else?
