  1. Oh darn it! K2 is 10 years, really? I was 29 back then, still 29 today, just like Jae!
  2. Low hanging fruit... Lolz ChAiNz...are you substracting like I do? Depending on the answer, you are either many years ahead ( I am permanently 29...*plucks first grey hair darn you! discreetly drops first grey hair on someone else's head*) or same age now Ahh good old times (jk)...
  3. Got a nice Eastern coast IMP casual guild with elite teams for those looking at having fun at all lvls - I have several 180s with set bonus. I tried to join an NIM guild but ran away...some of these nim guilds just sound like cults..."we will test you and send you in an arena an see who comes out alive"...no ty, not interested: this is a game for fun. Would move my pub toons (mainly a dps assassin 180 with 162 set bonus armor pieces and a lvling smuggler healer) to walking carpets if it wasn't so late for east coast
  4. Am nexus member too (Toutatis) will see what I can dig...
  5. Hey FS2. thank you for tools. check pms, have made a little alteration to your account!

  6. It's been many years...I think it fixes the 2nd issue only.

  7. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year though just learning about Astro's passing out has somewhat soured things up. 2013 was also not the best year for me. Hope to be back in full shape in 2014 (hopefully the gloomy news and events are over!)
  8. Like Char Ell, I have just found this thread due to a rather hectic life, often in remote regions, away from the net but not always...there were any family challenges.. I am deeply saddened by Astro's death. Always liked Astro (and most of his opinions although I can't count the times where I tried to tone down the heated debates on the forums! ). He's always been kind with me, no matter what, and I also admired how passionate he was about arts. RIP and mtfbwy Hasan. I offer you an excerpt of Mozart's unfinished Requiem
  9. Thanks, I will look into it...I've been in way too serious business lately and am way out of the loop when it comes to comp hardware...
  10. Hi all! I am currently looking into buying a decent gaming laptop I can easily carry on with me as hand luggage (along with other stuff) and was wondering if you had any suggestions? Budget has elasticity: I will look at performance/portability... I already have a decent desktop so please, don't bring the argument about how much better desktops can be for the same price: this is a comp I will be using during business travel which is about 10-15 days month and a desktop won't fit into my hand luggage (nor I would have the energy to carry it around airports)...
  11. Connected to the net, the camera can even detect your heartbeat, it doesn't shut off so it can listen when you tell it to turn on, the DRM stuff...How much data will be sent back to MS? Am I the only one who finds it creepy? This thing is starting to sound like the telecreens in Orwells' 1984 novel:
  12. Probably messed up the results In a work environment, I hate the messages with incomplete information people send and the expectancy to get an answer within 5 minutes: it's time consuming and requires more work than a phone call or face to face meeting where you can make sure you really understand each other with the proper nuances. Besides, I am often in regions where internet access stills flows at 2-3kb/sec ( when there is access) and where there is no cell phone service.
  13. This + Obsidian = even if it gets done, I will at least wait and may even pass my turn. Good writing alone cannot save a game. TSL might have been well written, it was incomplete, full of bugs and not very Star Wars-ish except for the lightsabers. I always got the feeling that the SW environment and setting were forced on the writer in TSL... K1, despite its flaws, captured the OT SW spirit a lot better IMHO. Sometimes trying to add too much depth to something like KotOR feels even more artificial...
  14. Yay! Definitely looking forward for this one! Let's hope The Witcher 3 does not suffer from the "streamlining" other games have suffered and continues to take some risks... loved the chars and environments which were not "Disneyfied" or asceptised.
  15. Uh...no. Choices in RL are not illusions and I don't think there is anything to laugh about. There is absolutely nothing pleasant to see an employee lose his/her job and I always feel like s*** when it happens. For some people, one person making the wrong choice or pressing the wrong button can result in hundreds without a home in a few months or even become hungry...I rarely sleep well at night in fear of "pressing the wrong button"... but "making no choice" (choosing to let it go is also a choice) maybe even worse... Anyway, as for gaming, I think ME3 ending has shown how they did not dare to make a choice in fear of displeasing someone in the fan crowd. So they left the choice to the player but in the end it was badly done and there were no real consequences contrary to the 16 different endings which were announced...everyone got about the same ending....even moreso for color blind players. So, for not daring to please someone, you might end up pleasing no one or so.
  16. It's the corollary to having a voiced pc... The stronger the personality of the main protagonist is, the less choice you have. It worked well for the Witcher (story built around a specific personage) but not so well for DA2 (limited choice to deal with voice over).
  17. I was actually away on a Cuban beach, sipping rum...I was the one playing away while you worked :xp:

  18. Artistry is just a lame excuse of a lame ending (or "endings" as Bioware like to call it/them): unfortunately, not all so-called "artistry" decisions are of the same artistry quality: they can be anything between lame and grandiose...in the present case, I think we are closer to the lame side. Merely invoking artistry doesn't automatically make something a "work of art"... Besides devs just contradict themselves when you look at the marketing stunts included in the game (Chobot, anyone? I find paperweights more useful and interesting than Allers...). Please explain. Although I thought it was lame and lazy, I can still live with the unimaginative space magic (similar "press button" ending worked well in DE:HR but not ME3) but not all the other non sense spouted by the god child. And wait, Garrus was right behind me and now he is...must have been the blood loss...
  19. Yeah, I played it...I have mixed feelings. I liked the game in general but loathed the automatic dialog...and the ending...what did the Reapers err...EA do to Bioware? :argh: Not asking for a happy ending but at least something that makes some sense...

Anyway, against all odds, I found myself playing multiplayer with a big Krogan headbutting everything in its way :p

    So, what about you?

  20. Oooh! I just found the offline button thanks to you. I guess I haven't been exploring enough: it must be my natural aversion for origins
  21. Btw, anyone knows if we will be able to play the PC version offline? Not only the Origin things sucks by itself and by principle but I will be traveling to weird places again (the kind of place where an internet connection is still hardly accessible...and when it works it's at about 10kbs -it's not a typo-) for about a month at mid-march...
  22. Happy Birthday! I hope all is well!

  23. Happy Birthday! I wish you the very best!
  24. Thanks for confirming it was not just a vague impression I had... * Paragon answer*: Of course, they will always tell us the "true truth"! The DA2 demo versus the final version of the game isn't a very reassuring precedent...
  25. Uhh...Bioware did have separate animations for FemShep in ME 1 but the hip movements were utterly ridiculous. In ME 2 they went to other other extreme: wouldn't you complain to have female animations for MaleShep? I know I would... It seems like a cheap excuse for not being able to holster a weapon...I'd never thought I'd complain about animations in a game but this is very annoying both from an RP and a general gameplay/camera point of view. They've added several other animations which we could have done without while not even noticing their absence (yay jump across gaps, rolls in every direction, multiple other animations during cutscenes, etc). ...and the demo does not bode well for rpg players: where did the dialog option went? (I tried only RPG and Story gameplay options). I hope I'm wrong but I fear that while trying to please everyone, multiplayer, solo, action and rpg fans, the game will not be truly satisfying to anyone. I know it's a demo but I only got a few dialog choices (even less than in the DA2 demo ) and I could choose between two extremes only.
