  1. if you understand how the scumm backgrounds are recorded, so you could help me... i'm sure !!!! explication: i'm working on Monkey Island 2 (CD). I have a BIG projet with this game. Several tools can show how the game is composed ( Scumm revisited, Scumm16....): - The CLUT file is the palete - The RMIM is for the backgrounds , it contain SMAP... We can dump those files with Scumm revisited and i've create a tool who can replace those files by other ones. That i wanna do is to find a tool which transform a BMP (or GIF) file to SMAP, RMIM or CLUT files !!! After that, i have just to replace those new file (with my own tool) and we'll have changed the backgrounds of Monkey Island 2 !!!

  3. No exactly... But thank you for your answer. i had ever created a tool for export image from the game to a Bitmap File (or Gif) . And i had ever made a tool for put an image (the RMIM (SMAP) format) in the game. BUt what i'm looking for is a tool which transform BMP (or Gif) to a COST file, or SMAP and CLUT files ( those files are readable by Scumm) Is someone can help me ?

Several programs (scumm16 , scumm revisited...) transform the backgrounds in a BMP or GIF file but i had never find a program which can tranform a GIF or a BMP to a background usable in MOnkey island 2. i need to create background in order to change the background picture of the old scumm games... So, i need a program (or just an help and i can create it) which transform a BMP in a CLUT file and a SMAP file. The CLUT and SMAP file are used in Scumm Revisited: CLUT is the color palete and SMAP is the pixels map. How i can do for find it ???!!!! I NEEEEEED it ! Thank you !

  7. Hi ! Several utilities show the backgrounds of Mi2, Mi1 , DOTT, Sam&Max... Those backgrounds are , i think, made of 2 files : the SMAP et the CLUT. (The pixels map and the palette). I need a new utilities for my projet: which transform a bitmap to a CLUT and a SMAP files. Many utilities transform "SMAP and CLUT" to BMP but it isn't what i want... I can't create it, i don't understand the given sources .... Could you help me ?

I don't understant how pictures are stocked ( are coded) in the scumm files... i know it's file called SMAP but i don't understant how it's working !? I've seen a lot of sources, but it doesn't help me. I think i need to read the sources of Scumm-Revisited or Costume Viewer ( or Ripper)... But i haven't found it... Could you help me? Is someone know how pictures are recorded , coded (images... like backgrounds , costumes...) ? PLEASE !!!! My project is working but i miss it !!!!

  11. I'm working about old scumm games SAM&MAX1, MONKEy2, MONKEY1, Day of the TENTACLE, INDIANA JONES AND THE FATE OF ATLANTIS... These games are composed with a lot of different files : ROOM, CHAR, COST, RMIM.... ex: The COST files are the costumes files ( 'cause characters are ... costumes) I know several persons work on Scumm file because a lot of utilities are existing... ScummVm, ScummRevisited, Costume Ripper... I'm looking for someone who can help me : :confused: i've got a problem about COST FILES. The COST FILES from SAM&MAX (or DOTT) are different than the COST FILES from Monkey2 ... Then, we can't use the COST FILES from SAM&MAX in MONKEY2... I'm looking for something which can convert the COST FILES format of SAM&MAX to the COST FILES format of MONKEY2. I don't understant how costumes are working, i just know it use a palete file ( for the colors...) . And palete files are different in MONKEy2 and in SAm&MAX... So, please, gimme an answer , how i can convert the costumes files !!!! THANK !
