  1. Will do. Good luck with your studying.

  2. Entering a rather hellish exam period which will last until 10 dec, so won't be replying to the TARP thread (or anything in kavars) untill then, if I forget about it after that, feel free PM me.

  3. Hey,

    Sorry only just saw you'd written this here, if you take a look carefully at Section 1 - Section 1 isn't a guarantee on for Citizens, it is a duty of care of the Government...

    "Section 1.

    Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction".

    My main issue with Gitmo, is that torture has been used, and indeed it would seem quite a few innocent individuals are locked up. All I'm saying is a court of law should be convened to lock up/execute the terrorists and let the innocent go free...

  4. Jon,

    You make some good points about the Declaration/Constitution in the post you linked. I just don't agree. The Constitution and Declaration is for citizens of the United States, not those captured during a war. The detainees at Gitmo live better, eat better and are afforded better conditions than any prison facility in the U.S. (I know because I happen to work in a Prison) The techniques used agaist enemy combatants are tame compared to the things they do to our captured soldiers. The islamic extremists hate the U.S. and have declared a holy war on us; not the other way around. However, I guess we can just agree to disagree.

  5. Firstly Gitmo does break Section 1. of the Bill of Rights (see linked post below for proof). With regards Citizenship, I would have to argue that it is not worth the paper its written on, if you go about torturing individuals and this is acceptable because they aren't "citizens" - which is also aside from the fact that intelligence gathered under torture is not reliable. Anyways, this was my post in full from the Gitmo thread;

    As someone who has travelled widly, including many parts of the Arab world, I have to add Gitmo is a PR disaster, the "War on Terror" doesn't really work, when your causing terror to others, as all it does is breed more terrorists. Anyways thats my 2 cents ;)
