    Well, as much as many people don't like to believe, stereotypes are often based on some form of truth. Not always, but often, whether it is or is not stretched or blown out of proportion.

     

    And from what you say about the Republican base being military and religious conservatives, may possibly be one of the key factors to why they aren't a majority in office at this time.

     

    Military. Well, I know this isn't a great example and is pretty biased. Iraq.

     

    Religious. Somewhat irrelevant because of the separation of Church and State.

     

    Not trying to sound like a jerk or anything. And I do apologize if this came across that way.

    Gay Marriage

    I used to not care since this did not directly affect me. Being raised Catholic, I was just fed certain views and beliefs and agreed with them.

     

    The I guess I had a personal "epiphany" when I was about 16 or 17. I just began to think and question things.

     

    I remember asking a priest about certain issues. Gay marriage being one of them. He said "The Church isn't anti gay. We don't believe that they shouldn't be allowed to be together, just that they don't call it marriage."

     

    I understand this viewpoint, and I honestly kind of agree with it. Let the religions get to keep to their ways. However it seems that a key factor that is being overlooked is the separation of Church and State. It seems that most people who are against gay marriage are against it because it is their religions view. Therefore, those arguements should be irrelevant.

     

    Besides, is marriage even all that religious anymore? I know some people still like to have traditional weddings in churches, but others can go out to vegas and get married in minutes.

     

    I'm going to have to say that I agree 100% with what Olbermann said.

    WTF is a fleshlight?

     

    We recently had a a wintry mix where I live of snow and ice. Went outside and got to play some shootout hockey because there weren't enough people for an actual game.

    Good fun.

     

    Congrats on getting your braces off, Commander.

    I agree completely with you TiE. I think we should let people do what they want, within the laws of separation of church and state. A simple prayer seems harmless enough.

     

    So, in other news. I was there. Arrived in DC around 10:30-11 PM on the 19th. It was cold as hell. Yes, hell froze over. I could go into many details about the experience, like how we stole boxes and built box forts on the Mall, but I'll save that for another time. My friends and I were basically homeless, hungry, and cold. One of my friends brought four Lunchables. That **** never tasted so good before.

     

    I enjoyed Obama's speech very much.

    The Halo and Gears of War series are very overrated. Not saying I don't like the games, just that they are overrated.

     

    Left 4 Dead. Great game if you play with friends who you know well, can play seriously and just mess around with. Terrible game if you play with people who you don't know and don't talk.

     

    World of Warcraft. I loved it before the Burning Crusade. Now I just want it to end. I don't think it's a bad game, it has just lost its "pizzaz" to me.

    I hate paying $60 for console games now, but it was worth it for Left 4 Dead.

    That's one title, so now I'll list 4 others in no specific order.

     

    Fable II

    Grand Theft Auto IV

    Warhammer Online (Yeah, really)

    Rock Band 2

     

    I haven't played a lot of the other games mentioned, but many of them have interested me. Especially NHL 09. If that ends up happening then I may have to change this list.

    Heh, last time I was in GameStop(Saturday the 3rd) the guy behind the counter was pretty cool. I thought he would get annoyed because two of my friends and I were juggling around money for a bit to be able to afford what we wanted.

     

    He joked around with us a bit, was nice and helpful, and I even accidently handed him one too many 20s. He just said "Are you giving me a big tip, dude?" and handed it back. Facepalm on my part.

     

    Hey Groovy, was GameStop having a sale on Prince of Persia? One of my friends and I bought Left 4 Dead, while the other bought Prince. We paid $60 each and he paid $50.
