  1. Nope, moved on a while ago to ESIV: Oblivion, (and back to) NWN, KOTOR2, and Civ IV. I'm also playing demos of Rise of Legends, BFME II, Tomb Raider: Legend, and Spellforce 2. I'm currently waiting for GR:AW and RON:ROL to come out. I generally don't play on the PC anymore except for in the hols, I've got more important things to do. When I do, its usually an RPG or a game that requires a lot of thought, and planning like Rise of Nations, or Civ IV, or any good quality RTS, TBS, RPG, are any hybrid.
  2. ***How the hell? Could an admin delete this post please?***
  3. Blue screens were with 1.0. I know I have way to awesome a spec for SWBF2 to run . To be honest, I've just got so pissed with the game, LA and Pandemic, (and the fact that the game's interest life-span is far to short) that I have just stopped playing it. Anyway, thanks for the replies, they weren't in vain, since I'm sure someone else will need the help.
  4. A war effort is micromanagement, tedious, repairing what units you failed to defend, and general irritation. However, you can still have a lot of fun with all of this. All that needs to be done is change the economy slightly (not by cheating I might add). And the X-Y-Z axis of A2 would come in handy, so we could have Homeworld 2 or Haegemonia type space battles. In fact, a Haegemonia map type star system arrangement would be very nice indeed .
  5. First, I am not amused. This patch is supposed to fix things, and it hasn't. Okay, now to the problem: After about 10 mins playing Obi-Wan on Kamino, the game crashes to the desktop. After playing for about 5 mins on the Vessa Asteroid level in Galatic Conquest as Rebels, I get into one of those hovercrafts, exit the base into space, press shift to accelerate, and the game hangs, and then the computer freezes up. Update: I've just had another crash - This time after about 5mins on the Space Tatoonie level. I was in an A-wing, and then the game just hung, and I shut it down using Ctrl-Alt-Del. However previous to this, I played 2 rounds of Hoth Conquest, 1 Rebel, 1 Imperial, and a round of Utupha (sp?) as Republic, and it was fine. My PC specs: AMD Athlon X2 4800 2.4GHz 2x GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB SLi - but playing with only one at the time of the crash 2GB RAM Audigy 4 Pro This are similar crashes that I experienced pre-1.1, except I usually had a blue-screen as well after the crashes. I hope someone can help.
  6. I loved EE, however EE2 seemed like a cheaply made sequel, I was expecting a lot more from it. I've only played the demo of AoEIII, but it, like, EE2 did not seem to have enough new ideas to warrant a new game, I also disliked WarCraft III shortly after playing it a few times. However, the crappiest RTS that I have played must be Star Trek New Worlds.
  7. I think that there are files in the data folder which have a list of names for the Capital Ships, and from here you can edit them, but I have not seen a way ingame of editing the names yet.
  8. Prolly buy it, although I prefer RPGs at the min to RTSs and FPSs, since I quickly get tired of both the last two - and since Oblivion is hopefully comming out in March, I may hang back, but we'll see. However, I will differnately be modding EAW, so I am pleased at what I have seen so far.
  9. Yeah, seems it does (just played the demo). As for recent games - Battlefront 2 doesn't support either the 7800 GTX on XP or Dual-Core Processors, and Prince of Persia T2T doesn't support graphics drivers later than v79 (nVidia).
  10. Do you know whether EAW will support dual core CPUs or SLI graphics cards? (I know that there probably won't be a need for SLI in EAW, even though the graphics look great).
  11. Is the CE only available in the States?
  12. I would love to be able to pilot a vehicle. With the starfighters, I would love to pilot one of the Jedi fighters in KOTOR 1.
  13. I always play LS. But i'm a bit unorthodox since I choose the LS dialogue and stuff, but then I spend most of my Force Power Points on DS powers (mainly lighting, grip, destroy droid - all of the (multiple) attack ones, not any of the debilitating ones), then spend the rest on LS, and I always choose heal asap for force powers. I must just like electrical storms!
  14. I hope that they use the 360 power as well, cos that will hopefully mean that it will look and run great, as well as be great on PC as well as 360.
  15. Me, I am neither a SW or LOTR fan. I am a general Sci-Fi/Fantasy fan. I doubt that I will get BFME2 since I disliked the look of the original, don't particularly like Generals and it doesn't suit my RTS style. It looks different, but I would prefer a Fantasy TC for say Rome: TW. EAW I will most likely buy, for 4 main reasons: 1. Mostly Developed by Ex-Westwood employees, and I loved C&C TS:F and RA2:YR 2. Hoping due to the above, it will be easily moddable (scenario editor may need to be thirdparty developed like FinalAlert or FinalSun like for C&C?) 3. Its Sci-Fi with space combat combined with land (sea?) and air, which is what I always wanted ever since a Dune game that would have done the same sunk when the developers went bankrupt 4. Graphics and gameplay look brilliant . (so far... )
  16. I want them to fix the issues with SLI and Dual-Core processors so that I can actually play the game without it crashing (i'm happy to play with one GPU working, but even if I switch the core affinity to only one of them, it still crashes the game after a while).
  17. Does anyone know whether the patch will fix the Dual-Core HT processor issues and SLI issues?
  18. If those are the min specs, do you expect that the game would still be able to be run on the latest hardware (like dual-core, hyper-threading processors, and the Geofrce 7 series GPU)? Just there have been a few game recently that seem to not have supported this kind of hardware on release recently. I know that we still have about 2 months still to wait for the game.
  19. I would like much better graphics for KOTOR 3 - however saying that, I am not really expecting or wanting graphics on a par with the Unreal 3 engine if it will mean a detriment to gameplay. The graphics in KOTOR 2 are not that bad (I personally think they are better that Price of Persia 3), but I get a bit tired with games that just use the same graphics continously (for 2 games in a row, thats fine, 3 is pushing it, especially if the 3rd is released a few years down the line). I would also like to see (as already stated) a much more vibrant, and interactive environment, as well as each map being much much larger - think of sizes larger than the original Deus Ex. This may mean developing the game more for a PC than a console. The RPG element is fine at the moment I think - although I would like to see more Force Powers and attack moves - like NWN. Also, I know that this is a serious longshot (and really early to ask) - but do you think that their will be any possibility of a toolset such as the Aurora NWN toolset for KOTOR 3? That is all I can think of at the moment, and I apologise for going more into a wishlist than only graphical wishes .
  20. Some interesting information for anyone having the same rig as mine, and SWBF2 crashing: "Playing the game on a dual core processor (AMD X2) will make it crash and the NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX (SLI enabled) is not compatible with SWBFII. These problems are noticed and will be solved with the first coming patch. Unfortunately there is no further info about when this will be released." This I got from another forum from someone called Katootje.
  21. No, since I don't have an ATI card, nor to I want to poke around in the tower since I don't know anything about hardware modifying, or much about hardware (except that I can tell what is good and isn't).
  22. Ditto what recombinant said . I'll try and get around to trying some of the solution ideas.
