  1. I'm trying to re-install SWTOR, but when I try to download the game, the program I download which is, apparently, the setup program for the setup program (Setup-ception!), just "loads" it's thing and then closes. Nothing happens afterwords. I had just uninstalled the game and didn't add anything to my computer after doing so. Last I checked, I meet all the system requirements. What could be causing the problem? Is it on my end or theirs? I would contact the devs directly but I'm not a subscriber and I cannot use my phone, they gave no instructions on how to e-mail them. I use Windows XP SP3.
  2. I tried to install KOTOR I on my new laptop but every time I try to install it, it gets to 10% and then I get this error message: I have 6GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon 4650 graphics, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and Windows 7 64-bit. The thing works beautifully and runs games just fine with great graphics, but I can't even get KOTOR installed. I tried running it in compatability mode, but that has not worked at all. Sometimes a different mode will give me a different error message, but it always crashes at 10%. I've looked up the error elsewhere on other forums and such, but no advice has helped me, maybe because I'm on such a new machine. I really have no idea. My old desktop still runs the game just fine, and it's a much slower piece of crap with Windows XP. I remember I straight struggled to get it running on that, too, but I eventually figured it out and it runs perfect now. I just don't really remember what I did or if that would help me this time around. It installed fine last time. It's not a faulty disc, so I don't want a cocksure, "It's probably just scratched." reply. If anyone had a similar problem and figured it out or has any ideas as to what could be causing the error - or knows what it even means - please let me know! Thank you kindly.
  3. Hi, newby... very happy to find this list. Working on XP SP2, with bundled XVT\BOP disks. Have old disks, dusting off. First time trying to install: XVT (and BOP). Found Lucas 3D and Win 95 patches, but still getting same error. Before patches, software seemed to install fine, but upon trying to run, COM Port window would pop up (setting Baud, Bit rates etc... ( as with old modem settings). Now (with Win95 patch) get "Warning: Connection Failure: etc...)". Was apparently trying to set up IPX network game (though am really just interested in single player sessions). Have my virus\firewall (Bit Defender) turned on to Game Mode. Keeps sounding like network\COM-port connection issue. Is there a TCP\IP address that the software can be connected to to help settle this setting? Alternately, how do I start a single-player game (versus "Join a Network Game"). Button doesnt seem to appear. Other thoughts? jm
