Hello fellow KotOR players. I'm afraid I have encountered a game breaking issue that I cannot find a fix for, no matter how hard I look for one. :/ Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Everything went absolutely fine until I got to the bit where you bump into Malak on the way to the hangar on the Leviathan and discover your true identity. When the cutscene where Bastila starts talking begins playing, it lags really bad (plays a second of it, freezes for about 5-10 seconds, plays another second and so on), then crashes at a certain point. I figured the problem is with the non-video cutscene that follows where Revan takes off his mask, rather than the scene before it. Maybe the 3D environment surrounding Revan is too much for my laptop to load. I'm not sure though. I'm really desperate to find a solution. This is literally the most frustrating issue I've ever come across regarding this game, since that scene is the best part of the entire game storyline in my opinion (and it just got ruined like that by this ******* stupid crash ). Please, will you help a desperate fellow? Here, I'll give you 500 credits in return, it's all I have! (JK) I can't tell much about my system specs, since I'm no administrator and can't even run that configuration file in the game directory. I can tell you that my laptop runs Windows 7 though and that I took all kinds of measures to make the game compatible. Also, it's KotOR 1 (obviously), the CD-ROM version. I've already tried running that part of the game on the lowest graphics settings and windowed mode, I tried single core, multi core... everything I could think of. I turned hardware mouse off, grass off (not that it would help); disabled vertex buffer objects, frame buffer effects, etc etc etc. I figured disabling movies would not help because the scene causing the problem is not a video file, but as I said, that is just my mere speculation. After a long period of nostalgia, I finally broke down and bought KOTOR 1 & 2 on steam and sat down to play though each. I'm currently about 18 hours into KOTOR 1 when I keep hitting the same crash over and over again. Immediately after the first fight with Malak on the Leviathan, where , my game consistantly crashes to the desktop and stops responding. Full details are in the spoiler tags below: The cutscenes play, I get a brief glimpse of my PC, Carth, and strangely enough Bastila on the bridge of the Hawk, before it crashes and stops responding. I have no idea if Bastila appearing on the bridge is actually part of the crash or if she disappears when the game actually loads correctly. I've tried restarting my computer a couple times now, my graphics drivers are up to date, I've reloaded saves before and after the fight at least 3 times each, tried switching to Carth before heading back to the Hawk, and disabling any and all mods I'm running. I've also disabled hardware mouse, AA, AF, sound, and movies and I still always crash at the same point. I'd like to think that there's SOMETHING I haven't tried that will allow me to finish my playthrough, but I have yet to come across anything. So, is there ANYTHING I can do to make this game work?

So i'm playing KOTOR for a very first time on my windows 7(intel i7,nvidia geforce gt545,16gb ram), the game was pretty much bug-less until i hit the leviathan location... i used mission for the rescue and when i reach the detention terminal and try to unlock me,carth and bastila from the cell, it just keeps telling me that my crew died and i have to load the game, since i don't use more than 1 save slot i can't go back anywhere, so i tried last autosave, which was the torture part... i don't know what to do, please help me, i spent so much time on the game because it was my first time playing kotor and i don't want to start over just to find out that i can't pass this level... for the mods i'm using it's just anakin AOTC hilt and new robe models... but i used kse editor a lot, i don't know if that's relevant... just please reply

Maybe it's just me, but I've always thought we could do well with a workbench on the Leviathan (especially since you have to fight both Saul and Malak here), maybe in the storage compartment outside the cell where PC, Carth and Bastila are being held, or in the armoury, or the medlab, or even the last room before you don the space suit. Since I don't see any workbench mods for Leviathan already I'm wondering if either somebody could make one or tell me how to do it?
