According to a listing on the United States Patent and Trademark Office's website on July 3 Lucasfilm registered a new trademark, Star Wars The Old Republic. The trademark for goods and services is described as both "interactive entertainment software" and "entertainment services provided on-line by means of global and local area networks." Also registered on July 3, Star Wars Sagas and Star Wars Legacy. So it would seem LucasArts has another Star Wars MMORPG in the works and are giving us a few guesses as to what it might be without fully revealing their hand. Oh but they have some sly Sith at the Presidio! Curiously enough, I did notice that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was not listed as a trademark on the PTO website, nor anything like it. Hmmm... I wonder if George Lucas would be OK if I took that one over. via EU Cantina and Star Wars Universe
Lucas Films Trademarks!!!! KOTOR is alive :)
NightLight posted a topic in The Unknown Regionshttp://kotaku.com/5024529/lucasfilm-files-new-star-wars-trademarks-is-the-old-republic-its-new-mmo The house that Lucas built has filed for a handful of new trademarks, all Star Wars related, all potentially new names for the oft-rumored Knights of the Old Republic 3, the one that continues to pop up as a new BioWare developed MMO. LucasFilm recently filed trademark applications for Star Wars The Old Republic, The Old Republic, Star Wars Sagas and Star Wars Legends, all of are described as "video game software" and "entertainment services provided on-line by means of global and local area networks." While that certainly sounds like a new Star Wars MMO and it all matches up nicely with what we've heard from former LucasArts employees, we'll call it rumor for now.
Source Alternate Source The long and short of it is that LA fired some employees and the employees blabbed about their upcoming games which included the following: - MMORPG KOTOR 3 project with BioWare - Battlefront 3 - Another LEGO Indiana Jones - Previously mentioned Indiana Jones game being developed for multi platforms. - Star Wars Lightsaber game for the Nintendo Wii. I believe I speak for most everyone when I say *** ******, LucasArts. *** **** you straight to hell.
