He should be coming back soon) had an idea for a big boxing tournament. A few nights later, we held a small competition with some of the members of the city. It was pretty enjoyable, and I think Ryxx owned us all. Richton was planning on having a big tournament, that would happen monthly, or something similar. What I want to do, is take Richtons idea, and make it a reality. Since he hasn't been here, the idea has just been sitting around, gathering dust. I say, let's take this, and make it something great. I would need the entire guild to help out with it, promoting it, gathering/making prizes. The tournament would be divided into three divisions. Novice, Expert, and Master. I still haven't decided what each divisions requirements will be, except for the Masters division, which will be masters only. I was sort of thinking that a Novice would be someone who is still in the brawler tree. A expert would be someone in the elite trees. But the divisions would have to be a bit more strict than that. The tournament would also be melee only. Weapons are allowed, but no ranged weapons. The competitors have to strip down to their pants, to ensure that nobody is wearing armor, and for even more insurance on no cheating, we might want to make our own pants for the competition. We'd hand out the pants, and take them back after the competition, to check if people put any attachments on it, to check for cheating. There would be maybe a 10k entrance fee, and the winner of each division would get the pot of money from each division, and some other prize. What I ask of you all now, is to collaborate with me, until we come up with a solid idea of what we're going to do, then, do it. If everything goes well, this should bring a steady flow of people Rorana, since the tournament would be held once a month. Alright people, lets hear some great ideas! Also, let me say, People are rich in this game(not including me). Most people, I think, would rather pay 50k to get in and have a chance at a bigger Pot. -or- You could charge 10k for novice, 25k for expert and so on. You could also have betting on the fights. I am going to post it on on the official events forum when we're done planning and have a set date. We could have people with no skills in Brawler fight, but the prize would be very small. Goose_Of_Mercy Posted January 22, 2004 Share Posted January 22, 2004 Don't have people fight with no brawler skills nobody will win until the bothan pulls out his dagger...(They will regen quicker then dmg) Even unarmed IV can be close to stalemates w/o vibros. Ok heres a few things: 1.Restrictions on weapons - such as no vibros for unarmed 2. (different than above) Restrictions on weapons - such as only one type of weapon used (Important for me and a few other melee specialists that like to switch from fencer and tka.) A possible "Champions" class for multiple weapon users? 3. Restrictions on specails - Such as Warcry, dizzy, kd, posture down, or specails in general. Also if Power Boost is allowed or not. (Force Of Will should never be allowed) 4. No death blows (of course) 5. Definatly make sure you have everything planed then start advertising 2 or more weeks in advance. -- Big prizes and people will come. 6. You will most definatly lose money on this, but have a chance of spurring the economy of Rorana. This could be prevented from lower prizes credits and maybe products from the stores around Rorana. 7. Turny rules - Red Robin or Elimination? Elimination seems like it would be unfair if you had a bad fight, but red robin could be time consuming (especially if you had say, 100 competitors).
