A few, actually:

Dream On - Aerosmith - Basic message is thaqt you should enjoy your time on Earth while you can, because you don't know if you'll be here the next day.

Livin on the Edge - Aerosmith - Saying that the human society is really screwed up, which is VERY true........

Crazy - Aerosmith - Heh, girl problem song. ^_^

Am I obsessed with Aerosmith? No.... heh heh.......

*closes door covered in Aerosmith posters and pushes signed gear under bed with foot*

Nothing I will ever refer to has words. Powerful music doesn't need them. Kind of like a powerful story doesn't need video.

I find Steven Reich's Different Trains a much more moving and stirring portrait of war and the holocaust than any movie or game.

Selim by Miles Davis always strikes at my with the anger and outrage of racism.

... many more ...

Blink 182- Adams song

Blink 182 - Down

Blink 182 - I miss you

Boxcar Racer- Elevator

Boxcar Racer - Sorrow

Metallica - Fade to Black

Lifehouse - Everything

3 Days Grace - I hate everything about you

Staind - Epiphany

Default - Taking my life away

.....all those songs remind me of my life...and all of them I can relate too, in one way or another.....

Two I thought of on my morning run:

- Cat's in the Cradle by Harry Chapin - simultaneously reminds me of my own youth and my Dad, and of my love for my children. Always puts me in a very emotional state ... in a good way.

- These Eyes by the Guess Who - makes me think of the love I have for my wife, and of the thought of losing her from my life.

As for the whole 'lennon - I win' thing ... I love the Beatles and Lennon, but not everyone shares his idealo-communistic views, so that song, much as I love it, is not for everyone ... so you don't win.

And ZBomber ... the fear from Tyler's lips is not necessarily a good thing ;)

This is a pretty broad topic...doesn't almost every song make you think about life somehow? I mean, if the song's not about life, then what else could it be about?

I guess I just cringe at the idea that 3 Days Grace has any insight on life :). That CD is pretty poor in my opinion. But whatever.

Close, but the lyric is 'nononono I don't <snifff> no more ...'

Note: I am not old enough to have been cognizent of Imagine as a new song, but I was old enough when my brother bought Shaved Fish new.

I think istrumental songs calm me down a little more.

Then you're listening to the wrong instrumental songs ... ;)

... besides which, all music is instrumental, isn't it? The voice is an instrument, after all ...

Mine is E.S. Pothumus Nara

My favourite album is E.S. Posthumus - Unearthed. Yes, that song does indeed make you think about life, in fact, the whole album does it's so sublime. Good choice TheHobGoblin. ;)
