Who said anything about friendly? It's not as if Boran and I were old friends and as we were just chattin it up on the IM one day I was like, "hey, we should scrim" - or that I just set this up for the heck of it because my clan has nothing better to do.

I consider this more of an exhibition match than a scrim. Call it a publicity stunt; you're not far off from my intention. Not one person visited our site from the thread I recently posted announcing that my group will definately be moving into SW:BF. Why? We're not recruiting until the game comes out. Peh. We're being taken about as seriously as the A.S.S. clan because we're not recruiting.

It makes no difference who our opponents are. Boran has hyped his group up as one of if not the premiere SW:BF group to be in. If IEF wasn't around it'd be some other group listed in the subject of this thread.

My purpose in setting this up is to give you all a reason to keep an eye on us - recruiting or not.

Now, I hope that clears up any misconceptions about this match or my group.

A couple of things need to be addressed.

u better practice the heck out of ur team, man. I'm rooting for you, but ur gonna look like a fool if u dont win. practice alot, man, seriously. stick it to 'em. May the Force be with you.

They will not look like fools if they lose just as we won't look like fools if we lose. Yaebginn, this is a friendly scrimmage in Battlefield 1942, not an unfriendly war in Battlefront!

And yaeb, before trying to insult my skills, I'd like to see you on the battlefield.

lol, way to stick it to him! He's to busy playing Socom. ;)

Fer chrissake quit it. Not important.

My group has been playing BF competetively since March. We're plenty practiced.

Theres nothing rude about showing off your skills as long as it's actually in game. Smacktalkin is about as useful as the braille dots on the drive-up ATM keypad.

Like I said earlier, we'll make our statement with this match as to where we'll stand. And then see ya in Sept.

What statement can you make in a demo of a game that is only similar to Battlefront? Give me a break! This is just for fun. If it's something more than for fun then my clan will not participate.

one thing, I am a fool. Second, Im not stereotyping. I dont like lukeiamyourdad for who he is is, not where hes from. And since I know how he is, and he is a canadian, that just furthers my opinion of them.

What don't you like about Dark Cross?

That concerns me. If that is the reason you are fighting us then my clan will not participate. Like I said, the demo for a game that is only similar to Battlefront can not be what determines how good or bad a clan is! The IEF is doing this for fun and for practice.

GIVE ME EXACT QUOTES THAT HAVE COME FROM ME WHICH "HYPES UP" MY CLAN! I AM FREAKEN SICK OF PEOPLE ACCUSING ME OF BRAGGING! I HAVE NOT BRAGGED IN PUBLIC, PERIOD.

I had to get that off my chest.

way to stick it to me? Dark just ended up looking like a tard. I didnt insult his skills, I insulted his clan. and its not possible for me to battle him, cause SWBF isnt out. And I dont like dark Cross's views on the world. I am not a big fan of Canada because everyone of them I met is a jerk. They have warped political views. But I am not wholely prejudice. I dont dislike Dark becaus he is canadain. I now dislike canada more becasuse of him.

I figured my previous post would rub some people wrong, but it had to be said. I hoped I wouldn't have to spell things out but I didn't want any misconceptions.

The 194th is and will be competetive. We've earned much respect in the BF community for being a good group of guys and always showing up to play even though we've been recieveing serious poundings from teams that have been in it since the beginning. (Season 6 of 12v12 BF action is underway, this is our second season as a clan. Serious disadvantage.) So, competetion isn't our only drive, but it's the major one. We've been working real hard these past 6 months, and it's just starting to pay off in the form of noticeably improved match performance.

I like to keep it friendly between clans. I've mentioned time and time again that I've got nothing personal against Boran or any other clan leader for that matter. But when it comes to squaring off against other groups, you can bet that we won't hold anything back. Competetors can and should be friends, but there's nothing friendly about competetion. We play for the thrill of the fight, the adrenaline rush from the knowledge that you're pitting your wits and reflexes against those of others to see who comes out on top. That is where I get my fun from playing games online. I don't play so that everyone involved can get a warm fuzzy feeling.

So, if you think I set this up so we could just piss around playing BF one night as if we were just pubbin it up, you were quite mistaken. We fully intend to beat the living snot outta you. If you can't handle that then you're clearly barking up the wrong tree.

As for why it's your clan I picked to target, it's easy to see by a quick readthrough of this forum that HD and IEF, among others, are clearly the 'front-runners' in the clan race so far. They seem to be the most organized and put forth quite a professional front. That alone implies quite a bit about your intentions. You also filled me in more about your intentions for the group over IM. It's clear that you want to set your group up as one of the best groups, and there's not one thing wrong with it - I'd think you're crazy if you weren't. There's no need to quote because it's obvious, even if you haven't said it directly. I approached you with the scrim offer because of this - not to try and 'dethrone' you or whatever, just to get my clan some limelight by challenging the best the community has to offer so far.

The similarities between BF:42 and Battlefront are too numerous to count and list. That's why my group will be moving into it, that's why I'm here discussing it far before it's release, that's why you're using it as a training tool. Many of the skills that are going to be needed to be successful in Battlefront are the same skills needed to be good in BF:42.

You prefer to make a name for your clan by smiling at other clan leaders, replying to 'free agent' postings with the same snappy Q&A reply, bringing small-time hacker issues to these boards and making a big deal out of them, and reminding people that you were one of the first. I prefer to make a name for my clan in battle.

Now that we're clear, either decide that 'your clan will not participate' and stop wasting my time or get geared up to play. The egg's not going to be on my face if you back out.

Thank you.

Actually I believe the match date was set as August 2nd which (needless to say) has come and gone.

I guess we'll have to wait for SWBF to hit the streets and do a little hunting... :D

And Yeah - It'd be nice if we could load our own avatars or link to them, but Billy Dee opening a Colt45 was too good to pass up and will do in a pinch!:laughing:

The date was rescheduled to August 7 well before August 2. We will be facing you guys tommorrow at 8:30pm EST

im guessing its happening tommorow toast....unless if they are scared

Scared: No. Confident: Yes. Guaranteeing victory: No.

Thios clan has played in Battlefield 1942 together for over a year now. The IEF has started actually playing intensively for about 3 days now. If we win, it would be a gargantuon upset. A bigger upset than when the US kicked The commies buttrs in 1980. We will play our harest, though, and make you earn every outpost!Until tommorrow

OK, here are specifics, Schetter.

The game's name will be IEF vs Guard Clan Battle

Tickets will be 310%

Wake Island

I have PM'd you the password

Server will be up at 8:20pm EST, game will not start until around 8:35pm EST

IEF will be Allies, Guard will be Axis

And I cannot guarantee 9 people to participate, however I can guarantee 7, most likely 8. After all this is summer, the IEF have only 14 members and people get busy plus one of my member's aunt died.

Toast here jumped the gun, I think. We don't have the capability to host a demo server except over a DSL line in Canada.

I would host the match on my cable connection, but that's a direct violation of my cable provider's TOS. I'd rather keep my cable service, thanks.

Load up your server tonight and we'll meet there. If it's no good then we'll weigh our options.

Excellent performance by the 194th Royal Guard as they defeat the IEF in all three games. We simply, to put it nicely, got our butts kicked. The 194th Guard is a clan to reckon with, heck, they're an excellent clan and the fact they have been together for a year in Battlefield 1942 showed big time through their awesome skill and teamwork. IEF members, you fought very hard, we were just completely outclassed.

Now, no settle the score the IEF challenges THe Guard to a game on Star Wars Battlefront on October 4, 2004 at 8:00pm EST. Hoipefully the results will be different.

Congrats to the Guard, may we meet again, hopefully as friends.
