GTA-series

Black Knight of Keno

Recommended Posts

In the past years we have seen three very good new Grand Theft Auto-games(GTA 3, Vice city and San Andreas). So, what are expecting from the next GTA-game if they are planning to make one in the next few years?

I, myself would like something more. Like the next game would have much more area than San Andreas(Which is already BIG) and much more radio stations like Flas FM in VC. Even the weapons and clothing could be doubled.

Maybe even a 90's version of Vice City where you kill Tommy Vercetti an take over the city and after that, you can get to the mainland to expand your connections.

Or maybe you play Tommy in the mainland and gain more power for yourself. Ah, the flow of ideas

as the stifmeister would say in american wedding

****ing right doggy. that would rock, but i know that lucasarts probably wouldnt want people associating starwars with a game as violent as Grand Theft Auto.

one can dream though :D

I personally think we ought to do a futuristic one, we did old times, street gangs(san adreas??i havnet played it) i think a futuristic one with newly dreamt cars would be pimp

How bout these :

GTA: Sports Scholarship

...You play LeRoy, young african american male. You have to survive the ghetto long enough to get a sports scholarship with UCLA and make bazillions when you get signed by the Lakers... :(

or

GTA: Aviation Lessons

...You play Abdul, young saudi national living in america. You go through tough identity verification tests before you can apply for a flying permit :(

or

GTA: Sweet n Sour Sauce

....You play Fong, young american chinese male. You have to survive living in a white neighborhood and being taunted by racist slurs. You use your innate martial arts skills to kick a$$

GTA makes me sick. Sure it might be entertainment to some, but it perpetuates ridiculous stereotypes, and at the end of the day, features unremarkable gameplay. Sure, gritty violent games can be cool....like Max Payne for example, but GTA is boring IMO...

Unremarkable gameplay? Dude can you think other action game were you have as much freedom as you do in those games (Sims doesn't count, not an action game).

As for the stereotypes, I guess you're right, but it kind of stereotypes everyone from old ladies the the Mafia, so no-one is singled out.

As for future GTA titles... a GTA Land would be cool were you have Liberty City, Vice City and all the places from San Andreas. Obviosly Vice City and Liberty City would both have to be upgraded with casinos and all that stuff from SA.

Morrowind.

Honestly, I was bored to tears by GTA. Sure, it was fun for awhile, but eventually you realize that you're doing the exact same thing over and over and nothing is changing.

It's just not my cup o' tea.

seriously, Id rather play Galaxies than GTA(and thats saying ALOT), at least you get to waste your time and money pretending to be a character in the SW universe, not some dull stereotypical gangster :(

but, as the ppl above have said, a similar genre game, with a SW theme would definitely be interesting :D The most obvious choice for it to be located on would be Nar Shadaa or Mos Eisley :D

im on gta 3 at the moment, and i have to say that the thing that MAKES the game is just that the driving is so much fun. The missions aren't bad, the music is good, the graphics and atmosphere are pretty good.

But if the driving model was rubbish then it would all be for nothing! I bet if you tried you could burn through the core missions in a day or two, but i've ended up playing it for weeks because I can turn it on, and then find that 2 hours have passed and i haven't actually acomplished anything... just driven around and had fun.

---

As for the future. I still have Vice City and SA to try, but i can see that i might get a bit bored by that point.

I think they should diversify and maybe license the engine. You can't help but think how many other genres would benefit from an open sandbox world to play in.

Tony hawks underground & spiderman have already gone down that road a bit, and it looks like mercenaries and the new hulk game will carry on down that road.

An x-com type game with that engine would rock. As would more skate and superhero type games.

A martial arts game set in an ancient chinese city would be cool. (spiderman meets crouching tiger over rooftops).

I have to say that the one thing i sometimes miss in GTA that Midtown madness had was the real cities. It was really cool to play the london & san fransisco levels having actually been there... brought back lots of cool memories. I'd like to see them tried with newer graphics.

Also, a more tactical "gang warfare" game like Chaos Overloards with you taking over blocks of the city would rule.
