I don't know how I ever spent so much time using that Microsoft hunk-of-junk when I could have been using one of these dream machines. I'm still keeping my old PC for some of that "other" work. The G5 wasn't as expensive as I had thought it would be. My system was only two-thousand dollars. Although the specifications depict a 1.8 Gigahertz processor speed, the hand in glove fit of the operating system and the computer being made by the same company makes my machine run like greased lightning. If you were to compare the speed of your PC with the speed of my Mac, you would be suprised at the results. Phreaky, give in to the Mac. It is your... destiny. Are you sure you're not experiencing new installation freshness? It could bog down like Windows the more you install stuff, although that might be hard since there's not alot to install. Every one of their programs works seemlessly with the operating system and so they aren't conflicting with one another, resulting in a smooth and fast computer. They have a fair share of games converted over to Mac's, but if all you want to do is games, then a Mac isn't for you. Mac is perfect for small business, such as my own. I'll say his about the iMac, with the hundreds (possibly thousands) of people that use the iMacs in the Emporium, they still run at the same speed and arn't boggled down with Spyware that a PC would get. Or maybe I'll just cave in and buy the Minimac. I really want a mac, just for fun. they look cool too. I'd get a normal mouse, since I can't live without scroll. Look cool. Cons: Macs are more expensive, can't play any games, slower, no customization. PCs Pros: Customizable (physical and electronicaly), games, speed, price, they are a lot like tuner cars in a sense. Cons: Lock up when running 20 programs at the same time, viruses.
