How do you "unzip" a map.

Download a program called Winzip or PowerArchiver

http://www.powerarchiver.com/ (The best! ;))

There are many others (including free ones). When that program is installed properly, just double click the 'zipped folder' and it'll ask you where you want to 'unpack' the files it contains.

A zipped folder is just a simple method of compressing/saving a number of files together in one convenient location for easier distribution.

Hope this helps. :)

Usually, opening an archive just presents the items within much like you'd view them in a folder in Windows. Extracting them means pulling all the files (or individual ones) out of that folder and placing them in another location. :)

The Help file should get you up and running. :)

Yes, you have to extract files. Extract means "remove," just like removing a letter from an envelope.

You should extract files to a \test directory to get a feel for this. In several cases you will need to extract files with the "Use folder names" box checked. You will see sub-directory paths in this case when you first view the open archive in winzip... or other archival program.

Fly safe now!!
