Data Doctors makes no guarantees as to the quality of this answer, nor to the safety of any procedures contained herein. A CRC means your drive can't read part of the disc. This is typically caused by a dirty/scratched disc or sometimes a bad factory disc. The cyclical redundancy error message is a method of error checking, errors are caused by a number of reasons, like corruption, loss of signal, interferance and so forth you could get rid of the error message by checking the disk, changing IDE cables, maybe using another components, one at a time, such as memory, the CPU or the motherboard, to find out what is causing the error message to occur and to avoid it so that you dont get it again. http://www2.datadoctors.com/help/questions/question.cfm?id=13475 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
