What you'd like in KOTOR III..

Probably been said but, I would like it if the player could only learn maybe 1-2 fighting styles (such as Ataru and Shii-Cho for example). Each of these forms would have distinctly different fighting animations. Each style would have sub-categories that the player could put points into upon level-ups to make them more proficient in various situations. For Example, One category may be how you fair against a single opponent. Ataru may be able to upgrade this skill out of 10 (the max).... but can only be upgraded up to 5 in the "multiple enemy" category. Different forms have different strengths and weaknesses...i think implementing an upgrade system would add variety to the players individual style as well as expand upon the feature in general

In addition there is one further thing I want in KOTOR 3. Jolee Bindo as a playable member of your party. Bindo is the man!

I think it'll be good to have a thread in this new section to discuss what people would like to see in KOTOR III. I'll start off.

1. As I mentioned in another section of this forum, I'd like to be able to ineract with the Sith more. Like in the the first KOTOR I, you could just go and hang out with some Sith, and the way the masters in the academy described the Dark Side was very enticing. In KOTOR II, I wasn't really lured to the Dark Side, I just though "yeah I'll be evil for the hell of it".

2. I'd like to see more concrete romance storylines, instead of ones which vaguely hint toward something, like in TSL.

3. I'd like there to be a character similar to Jolee Bindo!

4. I quite like the idea of having two mentor characters, perhaps something like one light/one dark, and a whole lot of tension between the two characters, leading to a fight perhaps, and your alignment deciding the winner. (What do you guys think of this idea?)

5. Enough with the wookies! I'd love to see a different alien species in your party. Personally, I'd make it a Trandoshan!

i pretty much agree with everything, but the thing i want the most is DIFFERENT looking ppl! it's like everyone in kotor are cousins!!! i know it's a lot to do for a game that big and i commend the for at least giving the same models different looks. oh and to have some more dialogue between characters when you find out they got a thing for you. ONE MORE THING. i want every damn thing to look different when i upgrade it. like putting an ionite edge on a vibroblade, reading the description of how it looks and not seeing one bit of difference really sucks. different effects on armor also when you upgrade it. it's like the only thing that you can change in the other two games is the color of your freakin lightsaber.

I think Mass Effect's interrupting people is a cool idea. It would be good to have it in KotOR III. But what would be even cooler is if you're dark, then you can interrupt people with Force Choke. :naughty:

Also, what really annoys me in the KotOR games is the small areas with the loading over and over again when you're going back and forth. Like in GTA III and in Vice City there was loading in between the different islands, but in San Andreas, there were no loading screens at all between the states and the map was several times larger to boot. It would be awesome to have an entire planet loaded at once in KotOR, it'd be more... realistic, I guess.

chalk me up as another who doesn't want to play as the "chosen one mk 4".

with that in mind, if i was a story writer for kotor III...

- 14 years after kotor II isn't enough. i'd be edging more towards the 20, 25 year mark. the reason for that will make more sense with what follows.

- the game begins with the exile doing just what kreia said she (it's a matter of canon that the exile is an LS female, so portray her as such. and if necessary/possible, give her a damned name other than exile once you make it clear that she is in fact the exile) would be doing: training a new batch of jedi. rebuilding the order. the reason your character is the main one despite being a lowly padawan (the exile's padawan even?) is because there are still too few full jedi to even form a council.

- there will be only ONE dark/sith lord. and he/she will be truly kickass.

- there will be more than one main quest. they will intertwine to provide a larger story.

- one of the first major quests of the game will be to find revan. however he won't return from the outer rim no matter what.

- one of the many plot points of the game will be the necessity to protect the still fledgling jedi order as a LS'er. if, however you go dark side, then rather than looking to destroy the kickass dark lord, you join him (although he doesn't become a playable character), thus making the exile the characters main protagonist in the game. this would provide a very different replay value to light side and dark side as at a certain point pretty far into the game the goals fundamentally change dependent upon your alignment (if you go DS, you could still be required to kill the dark lord i guess. it's the sith thing to do after all :D ).

- the saber and force forms would be scrapped. the effectiveness of force powers would be toned down a little, as would the number of feats you gain per level up (honestly, by the end of TSL, my character was basically God).

- think baldur's gate 2 with the influence and alignment systems. if a LS npc joins my party, and i'm walking around stealing candy off of babies and kicking the bejesus out of crippled old ladies just for kicks, then that LS npc is gonna get a bit miffed and up sticks and leave. a further dramatic twist would be having to face those ticked off former npcs later in the game (e.g. in my example above, a LS'er who left my party might go and help out the exile).

- you are a jedi knight, not a freaking fashion model. keep the robes relevant and restricted to class. anyone aligned jedi can wear the grey robes for example, but a padawan wear padawan robes, a non specialist master wears master robes, a sentinel wear sentinel robes etc etc. small details like that can make a huge difference (this is something i'm throwing in my TSL mod when i get the time). this could apply to saber colours too i guess.

- four words that are absolutely key: flesh. out. the. characters.

- along those lines, give the universe some depth. re-visiting the same worlds we saw in kotor and tsl and nowhere else would be really, really, lame. revisiting those worlds as a part of a universe where we visit a dozen or so worlds though would be really, really cool. by the same token, there can be more than one city/place to visit on any world. lets make this thing feel and BE epic.

i'd actually LOVE to write the story for KOTOR III. i think i'd do a brilliant job tbh. :D

I rekon it would be pretty cool if you could.....

1)Be able to choose more then 2 classes like neverwinter knights.

Example= be a level one scout then take one level in scoundrel then level up either one whener you when ever you feel like it. So a lvl 5 carater could be a 3scout/2scoundrel before they became a jedi of some sort (sorry dont know if thats copyright). Just have some minor sort of requirements for classes.

2)Get the choice to learn your jedi class as either a padawon or a sith apprentice. But still be given the choice to follow either the light/dark side and change to different factions through the game. Or just screw either side over lol

3) Be given the option to lvl up your other caracters differently. Either leave them as they are or choose all thier feats/skills/classes from lvl 1 up to their current level. Just kinda sucked when you got lvl 8 caraters and all their feats were really crap ones. Just leave the base class the same for one level so the story line kinda makes sense.

4)Probally been cover hundreds of times but more options for your caracters apperance. This being......

race height skin colour build tatooes facial hair scars cloths ect

5)Get the chance to choose your own unique feat like the ones your other caraters have like "wookie toughness" and stuff like that. Also choose wich attack you start the game with. In other words you get to choose one melee attack and one ranged attack example= flurry for melee and then sniper shot for ranged.

6)Online questing or maybe just pvp against other people. Kinda dumb making a cool caracter and not knowing how good they are.

Just some thought for now, might make the next game very unique indeed.

Personally I would like to see a return to the style and feel of the original KOTOR. While I rather enjoyed the sequel, its predecessor had much more charisma and was (in my opinion) more replayable.

Definitely a good story that connects the earlier two stories, not so much on the Exile or specifically Revan, but more like what Revan was trying to do and who or what these "true sith" are. I'd like to see some more exotic alien species, or some that we have been introduced to in the movies but not in the games (i.e. Yakora (Yack Face), Snivian, Kaminoan, Shistavanen, etc.) Added prestige classes such as "Jedi Investigator" and "Jedi Shadow".

Personally i'm rooting for sort of a KOTOR + II Final Mix, which would tie up all of the loose ends and possibly add in the left out content such the HK factory, and the Droid planet though I'm not holding my breath.

I'd like to see palm powers - having a specific power or ability in one hand to use when you really need it.. For example, I could throw "Master Heal" in my palm slot, and while I'm fighting a really tough opponent and find myself in the middle of a Flurry and a slap on the wrist away from death, I can fire off "Master Heal". Or better yet, I could ready "Force Wave", and fire it off into a gang of enemies while I'm force choking their master. Of course, this shouldn't go without certain restrictions to balance it out.. Perhaps the player could only ready a palm spell once every 15 minutes - or double the amount of force required to use one. Just my thoughts, anyways. :)
