Space Battles?

I just got the game, playing galactik conquest as empire of course, medium level, i got 3 planets rebels got all the others, i got a nice fleat, and only build the biggest destroyers, i beleve the vicroty class, if i remember right

anyhow, rebels use the smaller mixed with bigger ships , still never very many bigger ones, they cany brake my fleat....

i use all my bombers and ties to attack the bigger ships one by one, and just keep re sending them in to the battle as they dir and repop,

i rarely loose anything and if i do its just one of the smaller destroyers,

now, here is the problem i got, i can knock out as i have all the space defences and the stations over enemy controlled planets, but

when i try to invade with troops, they knock me out before i get a chance to land my troops, i enter with 3 at-at and right away they shoot artilery, airspeeders or whats there names, some troops and tanks,

if i enter with at-at and some At-AA the artilery kills the AA in a shoot than the AT-AT are down from the air patrolls,

any sugestions about invading a well defended planet??

also, any sugestions about other tactics?

im new as i got game yesterday

also, what are the AT-SE walkers good for, as they rock in the movies but cant kill any soliders nor tanks or speeders....

What determen if i can use bombing runs on a mission or not?

do i get back all the lost "Heroes" if they die?

as ive killed Han and R2-d2 all the time but only killed Chewie once and never seen him?

please respond i need help

The reason you get rushed by the enemy right off the start in a land battle is because the AI does not use Fog of War. Yes, you heard me correctly. This can be (relatively) easily modified if you look for the topic called "Proof the AI cheats" and then look into the modding forum for instructions on how to mod the XML files.

As to your other questions...

Um, what exactly are AT-SE walkers?

You can use bombing runs if you have a star destroyer (Acclamator, Victory, or Imperial class destroyers) in orbit over the planet you're invading. Of course, if you were playing as the Rebellion you need to have Y-Wings in orbit.

As for heroes, once they die in battle they will return after a certain amount of time passes. On the galactic map there should be an indicator in the top right corner where it shows what heroes you currently have. If a hero died recently, he/she/they will return once the blue "timer" over his/her/their icon finishes its rotation.

Thank you ,

it sertainly helped me out a bit, still

any sugestions on how to invade such a well defended planet, also with what units to enter first,

the AT-SE = AT-ST i beleve, the 2 legged walkers used in EP 5 and EP 6

one of those walker thingies chewbaca took over in EP 6 while fighting side by side with the Evoks

is the Death Star, worth saving up for? 15000 credits

can you build anything with it, or just destroying planets, also

how good is it as a tactical weapon? destroying a planet is good if its a

strong enemy planet, but... is the recharge time something like 1 year?

When you land your AT-AA and they start shooting artillery at it, use it's special shield ability and it will stop the artillery missiles from hitting your AT-ATs which can blow up the artillery at long range.

While that is happening your AT-AA should be shooting down the speeders.

Hey, I've lately found that sending in Veers, 2 At-At as well as a group of artillery and a At-St seems to work rather well for me. have the At-At deploy infantry as soon as they land, use said infantry to capture whatever you can grab, get repair station up asap.

Then use infantry to take care of plex. Arty always stays behind your At-Ats, make sure they aren't caught in the blast if reb arty fires at your At-At. The At-Sts act like a "quick response" unit. Your army will be f**** slow. :) So get another reinforcement point asap for some lighter troops, heros and whatnot. I've been able to beat the medium AI without any losses on my side a few times by now. Strat would propably (as in - pretty damn sure) not work against human opponents..

Hope that helps any..

AT-STs are one of the faster walker units, and are tougher than scout troopers, so they can be used for scouting. They are also relatively good against infantry, and can be used to run down infantry if you're good at micromanagement. Their barrage special ability works really well against large concentrations of enemies, and they can hold their own against T2-B tanks, if they have a numbers advantage.

The Death Star is essentially only good for blowing up planets. Note that if you deny the rebels the resources of that planet, you also deny yourself those resources too. As far as I know, there is no recharge time for the Death Star, but according to Star Wars lore, the "real" Death Star took about a day to recharge its weapon. Just thought you might be interested in knowing.

Thank you alot for that information, im a SW fan and i never knew about the 1 day recharge, now i beat the conquest on medium as Empire, just taking my deathstar well guarded to blow up planets, but.... now im Rebel, and how do i "kill" the deathstar if they make one? im playing medium level

Use Red Squadron(Luke) to "kill" the Death Star. If you destroy the escorting fleet and Luke survives, he'll automaticaly do the trench run and blow it up.

The Death Star also is a one man wrecking crew. If it goes to a system that Luke ISN'T in, even if it looses the space battle the enemy fleet will be destroyed/flee to the nearest planet. Which IS realistic I guess. If they do build a death star, send out stealth units to watch the main paths to your system, you should catch it on the approach.

Thank you,

i kinda just started the rebel conquest game, but i can already tell that the empire surely got stronger space units indeed...

For land engagements with the Empire, use your heroes (if you have them), so bring the Emperor, Vader, and Veers to the fight. Those three alone can take pretty much anything the AI will throw at you. In addition, a stormtrooper squad, an AT-ST squad, or another AT-AT can be useful. use a set of scout troopers if you are missing that one guy and you can't find him. I wish they'd fix it so that you could have an easier time if there's one stupid infantry guy left. I also hate how you cannot select Veers and AT-ATs all together, they should fix that so you can.

Be wary of Airspeeders. If their on the battlefield, guard Palpatine with AA - 3 or 4 speeder squads can kill him by the time he's across the map. Ofcourse, if he doesn't have to survive on battle or GC, not too much of a concern unless you need him to deflate costs.

I agree. It's frustrating if you only want to move AT-ATs, and deployed stormtroopers left behind to guard the landing zone have to be selected just to move the AT-ATs with Veers.

But if i bring the emperor and loose dont i loose the game?

It deppends - on some maps, the Emperor and Mon Mothma both respawn eventualy. Check your objectives on the holocron(Galactic level) and it will tell you win/defeat conditions. The Emperor is good for using against large numbers of infantry though and has decent health.

Yeah, you do. But usually the emperor is strong enough to fend off most enemies. He doesn't fare well against vehicles, so keep Vader and Veers close and you should be fine.

In terms of speeders: get some build pads with anti air turrets (the speeders always show up close to them eventually) or keep one slot for an AT-AA unit if needed. Artillery shouldn't be enough to kill Palpy or Vader by the time they reach their target. Plus, Vader instantly can kill it.
