Shadow Force: Praesitlyn Campaign

Here’s the first scenario:

Shadow Force has been tasked with landing in the barren deserts of Praesitlyn in order to infiltrate a CIS laboratory that is developing a poisonous gas, intended to kill clones. (Sound familiar?) The drop ship is on its way to the drop-off point. Shadow Force waits inside, coming up with a plan from what little intel they have.

This is the first objective:

Travel through desert canyons and valleys to get to the city wall. Once there, blow through the barrier into the town. Secure the area and wait for the signal to continue.

Here’s the topography:

The Drop-off point (DOP) is located in a small dip in the ground. One canyon leads from the DOP to a large valley (LV). There is a command post in the middle of the LV. It is called the LVCP. One canyon leads away from the target barrier (TB). Two canyons lead towards it. There are many small canyons and caves that were unable to be verified by long-range reconnaissance. After the two main canyons leading to the TB there is another Large Valley (TBLV). This is where the TB is located.

Here’s the resistance:

There are major fortifications in the LVCP. Turrets cover LVCP. Random turrets cover major canyons. Major droid fortifications are around the TB and are scattered among the TBLV. Droid patrols cover general battlefield. Trandosians are scattered among the small canyons and caves in ambush positions. Droid sniper units are placed on random mesas.

(If you did not completely understand this, just play along and make stuff up. It doesn’t really matter; the basic idea is that we’re fighting in desert canyons.)

Here are our resources:

1.Any weapons you have chosen to bring along

2.Any standard commando gear, such as med packs and grappling hooks

3.Each squad has one E-Web Repeating Blaster Turret

4.Air support is limited to one gunship

Adaptations can be made.

This is where we come up with a plan using the description of the battlefield. Post what you think would be the best way to go about getting to the TB. Then we’ll come up with a final draft and execute it. (Because we only have one squad so far, it will probably just be sticking together and battling our way through the canyons.)

(If anybody wishes to join the commandos, checkout "Shadow Force: Recruiting" at http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?p=2043175#post2043175. If anybody wishes to join the CIS or Trandosians, go ahead. Just give us basic information like name, faction, and weapons. Whatever you want.)

“Any suggestions?” Niner asked Shadow Force. “It’s not impossible, not for Shadow Force at least."

Well Here some ideas:

1. If a new squad is formed they can be transported in a Republic Gunship to the drop off-point.

2. We get dropped off by a Republic Gunship and are aupplied with a speeder bike for each squad member.

3. Only a certain amount of bullets. So we may switch weapons with droids and use their ammo if we run out. Or maybe Ammo supply drops at certain areas.

All I have for now as of ideas. You can start posting the story if you'd like. Where would we start the briefing room in the gunship heading towards the battlefield, or on the battlefield?

(ooook... i guess ill start..... on the gunship...)

Kikker's stomach lurched as the gunship dropped a little. He put his gun together, put a fresh pack in it, checked his demo supplies, checked the E-web, put his helmet on, and while doing so he thought up a plan for raiding the canyons.

"We could take Dac and set him up so hes moving along the canyon edge, while Me, you and Nobody (Nobody is the open spot for alpha) could move up through it in wedge formation. Dac could be a bit further up to comm us if he sees any ambushs." He said to Niner, the squad leader.

"Sounds good to me," Niner said. "Does everybody know their role? Upon drop-off, Dac will clim the canyon wall. He'll provide sniper cover for Kikker, Nobody, and me. We'll be in the canyons. When we get to the LV, same idea. Dac provides sniper fire. Watch out for droid snipers positoined on your level, Dac," Niner added.

"Once we've taken the LVCP, we'll head down one of the canyons, the one parellel to the LVCP. Dac will once again, Snipe down the canyon from within LVCP. We'll set up a laying-up-point in one of the caves inside the canyon. Nobody can go back to get Dac, while Kikker and I defend."

"Then we'll move on to the TBLV. Dac can be on the canyon ledge, doing what he does best. The rest of us will scale the edges, and engage the enemy from protected locations. Once the area has been cleared, we'll plant the charge and wait for the signal to detonate."

"Does this sound good?" Niner asked.(?)

There was thirty seconds untill touch down. Niner wasn't nervous. They had it all planned out. The gunship doors opened slightly, and Niner got the first glimpse of the Praesitlyn battlefield. He realized he would have been nervous, had he not been a commando.

"Yeah, sounds good." Kikker replied. "What if they spot us before we drop?"

He wasn't worried, But a commando needed to know and solve all the "What ifs". Kikker checked his Jet pack throughly. If it got cut off while flying... Kikker shivered. He could see the R2 Droid acting as pilot start to open the Drop-off doors.

(I guess I'm nobody)

Tiscalli sat quietly listening to the others. He cleaned his rifle but stopped as the doors opened.

"Go for it" he muttered to answer to Niner's question. He stood up.

He pushed a small buton next to his visor and his view had gone from clear to specs. Naturally, the specs for the ship and the rest of Alpha were shown. He turned it off again.

"Ready?" he asked with a feeling of dread

(heh heh, you i dunno if u guys can free fall like my char can cuz u guys don't have jetpacks, but oh well.)

Kikker was the first one to the gunship doors. He rapped the gunships outer frame twice to show he was jumping, then he fell backwards out of the door. He was approaching ground faster than he expected. When he was very close to the ground, he turned on his jetpack and landed softly on the (grass? sand? rocks?). He then took out his DC-17 and secured the area for the rest of alpha.

Tiscalli followed quickly. He fell fast. He closed his eyes thinking. When he realised he was cloe to the ground he flipped over. He spread his legs and his arms to create a wind resistance. He hit the ground hard and rolled. He stood up shaking. He hated doing that. He got out his rifle and looked around. Nothinng. He stooped down and took some dirt/sand and rubed his hands with it. He gripped his rifle more tightly and waited for the others...

3 miles away from the gunship, on the canyon entrace, a trandoshan looked at the black dots fall out of the gunship. He showed the other 15 trandoshans and they got up and headed to the drop site, axes ready and blasters armed.

After everyone jumped out, the gunship hovered closer to a mesa and Dac jumped onto the mesa ground. He squated and started moving along the mesa top as he watched the men down below walk slowly. He scanned ahead of him and noticed something move. "Niner Sir. Somethings moving up ahead. Take caution." Dac whispered into the com-link.

While the trandoshans took cover behind rocks in the canyon, two trandoshans hid in a bush. A sniper and a spotter. The spotter whispered the range and direction of a clone on the ridge, and the sniper targeted it. Meanwhile down below, another 3 trandoshans prepared their mounted blaster cannons and the 10 others did their best to aim for their targets using the lousy made-for-droids blasters they were given from the sepretists. On a trandoshans command, all 15 squeezed the triggers. and the trandoshans were too excited to realise that reporting the commandos to their higher command would have make the commando's geneticly short lives harder.

Tiscalli heard the shots and hit the deck. He turned around. In the distance he could see something shooting at them. He pulled out his rifle and looked down the scope.

"Trandoshans" he muttered

He targeted a sniper and rolled the barrel at the end of his rifle. He fired. Through the scope he saw the Trandoshan hit the floor. He rolled over and shot at the spotter. He fell to the floor too.

"Niner enemys at mark..." a shot ricoshade past Tiscalli's head and he hit the floor....

"Let's take them out," Niner casually said to Alpha Squad. He jumped out from behind his cover and started pulsing shots through the Trandosians' skulls with perfect accuracy. "Quickly and quietly," Niner said over the comlink. He ducked back to cover to reload his DC and then surveyed the area in which the Trandoshans had occupied. "How about now?" Niner asked Dac.

After the comotion died, some droids snipers decided to see what happened. They squat and slowly walked towards the valley area. Once the droids stood up Dac quickly realized them and aimed towards them across the valley. He fired, making a blue trail go across the valley in view of the other squad members, hitting the droid and disabling it. "One down. Don't really know how many are left, sir. Over."

Tiscalli aimed and took out another Trandoshan. He moved to rolled over and looked through his scope to see...

"Droid snipers!"

Tiscalli took a quick shot but missed by an a few inches. He swore and aimed again. He paid for not moving. The sniper now knew where he was and shot at him. The bullet him the floor infront of him and shot sand into his face. He rolled over this time and shot the droid in the chest. The droid fell over and lay motionles.

"Strange" Tiscalli muttered "A lone droid sniper..."

Tiscalli realised how odd this sounded and imeiatly looked back. Sure enough more droids started showing up.

"err...Niner..." he said tapping him on the shoulder

Kikker fired a couple of rounds at the droids and ducked behind a rock. He tried to run over to Niner and say something to him, but a sniper saw him and took a shot. The blue blaster fire screeched across from the canyon, and hit, dead on, in Kikker's chest. Kikker heard himself scream and everything go white. The armour should have protected him but the sniper shot was dead accurate. Kikker rolled around on the ground, cursing in pain.

Dac quickly shot the droid snipers that shot at and hit Kikker. "Kikker try to stay with us. We'll be with you in a sec." Dac still not noticed quickly aimed at another droid sniper and disabled it. He then aimed downward and noticed the droids coming along charging towards the squad. We really need some reinforcements. And I thought this was more of a stealth mission. Dac thought as he fired downward at the droids.

Niner was ducked among some rocks, scrapping droids using his DC-17's sniper attachment when Kikker got shot. He took one last shot, then stowed his rifle and pulled out his DC-15 pistol and crawled over to Kikker. Droids were pouring into the canyon, and Niner knew he shouldn't, but he had to. He had to help Kikker.

Niner grabbed onto Kikker and dragged him over to the canyon wall. He pulled out his disruptor pistol and fired into the cliff wall. A whole blasted into the wall, and Niner dragged Kikker farther in. He shot another bolt from his disruptor pistol to get a little deeper into the cave. "Form up in here," Niner ordered. "Dac, continue sniper fire. The rest of you set up the E-Web.

At the back of the newly formed cave, Niner turned on his helmet spotlight to get a better look at Kikker. He immediatly took off his arm plate and plunged a needle into a vein. Then he removed Kikker's chest plate and took a look at the forming bruise. "He'll be okay," Niner informed Alpha Squad. "And don't forget to thank the Kaminoans for your upgraded armor." Niner told Kikker. Niner bandaged Kikker up with some bacta. "This wasn't how it was supposed to start," he thought to himself.

  • 3 weeks later...

"Great. What a start." he thought, "Now we have an injured soldier down there and from the looks of it we aren't getting any reinforcements soon."

((Maybe we should post a little bit more on this forum don't ya think everyone!

Anybody join please we could reallly use a medic!!))

Niner finished putting the bacta on Kikker and replaced his armor plates. He wrote down the dosage on Kikker's arm plate and handed him his gun. "You should be okay. A bruise doesn't stand a chance aginst some bacta and a commando." Then Niner headed for the mouth of the prefabricated cave and snapped a new clip in his DC. He lined up a droid in his sights and squeezed the trigger, then repeated.

(I was thinking we could just make a second char, to make up bravo team cuz it doesn't look like anyones comin)

Kikker felt his joints groan as he tried to move to a crouch. Kikker got his DC and fired a round into a droid. It collided with sparks. He fired again, and again, finding his mark on droid after droid. Eventually all the droids were down.

To Kikker's pain, Kikker rolled and scanned the area. "All clear sir." He told Niner.

(If you want to, your call.)

Niner walked out of the cave. His motion sensor rested. "Looks good," he said. Niner scaled the canyon wall, then he opened up his medpack and pulled out some thick doublesided tape. He pushed one side into the redish orange dirt and stuck the other end to his gray armor. "It's time we take camoflage into our own hands," Niner said and urged his squad to follow. "Remind me to file a complaint to the Kaminoans when we get back to give us some camo before the drop-off," he joked. Niner chuckled. He loved his job.
