An almost secret mission

Tay laughed. "What an odd answer," she commented. "But fair, I suppose. As for me, I never cared much for history. History spawned the Empire and has left me the job of knocking them where and when I can."

((Tay is also Force sensitive, Flamehart... something your character would probably recognize, further grounding his possible suspicions as to who she's related to :) ))

Strider raised an eyebrow. He could sense her force sensitivity. And it wasn't just slight, and it's resonance from her was slightly familiar to him. He couldn't quite place it, and it took him a moment of what it looked like a cross-examination, before he could come to an answer.

"You seem familiar...are you by any chance related to a Riebe in any way?" he asked slowly.

Tay stared at him for a long moment. Then, she nodded slowly.

"Yes," she answered, puzzled. "Yes, I am. Been at least 2000 years, though..." She pulled out the picture and showed him.

((Probably the first thing Flamehart would notice is a slight maturing of facial features. When he knew Riebe, she looked as if she could have been anywhere between 16 and 18. In this picture, she looks more like 19 or 20.))

Angak gave a chuckle and shook his head at the two.

"Ages, ages, ages... My family has always grown old, but the freak of our family was Emukiel, who lived up to the start of Clone wars. And yes, Malakhor is the very place" he said before hearing the door open with a hiss. Two soldiers with a golden strip going up their helmets and the shoulder pads being golden colour also. The Admiral stepped throught the door after them and stood straight infront of them with a smirk on his face.

"Hmm, so you're awake. First of al, it is an honour to meet someone like you, Flameheart, for not many get as high as you in the Imperial blacklist" he said and then took a step forwards.

"I trust Angak has already told of our heading for Malakhor. You see, it is a simple reason for it. Malakhor is radiating pure evil, and that messes up Vaders' sences, He cannot feel our presence from the dark. How do I know? I have a complete library of Jedi holocrons in my posessions that I smuggled from Coruscant in the last two years of the Clone wars when the Jedi were starting to see Palpatine's plan"

Flamehart noticed the slight maturation in the photo, but said nothing about it for now. He nodded at the confirmation of the Malachor being the same he thought it was, and already knew he probably wasn't going to like this. His discomfort with the location slightly showed in his facial expression.

When the admiral walked in, he didn't even blink when his name was mentioned, and even chuckled about the mention of the black list, and responded with a smirk, "While that may be impressive, Admiral, I believe it would be far more impressive to state few get that high on the Imperial blacklist, and manage to survive."

Strider thought about something for a minute. "I've heard rumor though that as of recent I've been moved up from somewhere in the twenties to the top ten though, since the conclusion of the battle of Yavin, is that true?" he asked.

After the Admiral explained the reason for Malachor, Strider nodded, agreeing completely with the logic behind the choice. "Very brilliant tactic, Admiral. I mean, I've heard of doing such a thing with a single individual to get lost in a pursuit, but a whole military installation? That's impressive," he stated.

"Malchaor is also an inhospitable planet with practically no steady place to land, so it would be pure suicide to land or bild there. That's why we have a space station there with stealth generators the best we could find without risking our location to be found by the Imperials" he explained a bit more but then smiled kindly. There was a short silence before he inhaled and spoke again.

"I know why you are here" he said and started to walk infront of them slowly.

"We may fight the same war, but we have different ideals of the outcome. The rebels want to fix what went wrong, but I believe the Galactic Republic was brilliant and could be kept as it is if the corruption and bureucracy would be removed. The Rebel Alliance is asking for trouble, for you cannot win without a strike of luck. Emperor knows everything that he can sence in the Galaxy and places like Malachor make him uncomfortable, for anyone can hide in them" he said and shook his head slowly.

"I will not joi nthe Rebel Alliance, but your little group will indeed hear from me again, for we fight for a mutual goal in the long run. We want to overthrow the Emperor" he said and stopped, looking a tthe rebel group quickly before looking at Angak, Strider and Tay, each at a time. His eyes swiftly widened for a moment and he retreated fr the door.

"Most of you are close family of jedi and possibly even are jedi" he noted and looked swiftly at Strider.

"Follow me. I want to show you something you might find interesting" he said and headed out of the door

Tay's eyes wandered again to Strider as she tried to catch his gaze. When she succeeded, she nodded thoughtfully, still holding his eyes. A slight whisper echoed in the furthest back corner of his mind. I am sorry to hear that.

"You seemed to recognize the picture I showed earlier," Tay said quietly, to Strider's ears only. "I saw it in your eyes."

Strider replied back, "My exile happened ages in the past, nothing to be sorry about. It's given me a bit of freedom here and there, and has allowed me to see the galaxy from several different perspectives. As for the photo, I had the honor of fighting alongside Riebe quite some time ago as a Sith Hunter. I have great respect for her, and she's a good friend."

The look of honesty on his face startled Tay more than his words.

"You..." she stammered. Then, she caught a possibility in one of his words. "She is?" she asked. "Is she... alive?"

((She was fairly well-known among Jedi until right after the Clone Wars when she appeared to betray them and vanished. So really, it'd be hard to say...))

"I really don't have a clue," he replied. "I lost contact with her shortly before I was being hunted by a large group of Sith, I was weakened at the time and was unable to take all of them at once, I was forced to fake my own death. I tried to contact her in mid space combat, managed to get one last message out to her, then faked a ship explosion and made sure the planet authorities thought that I was dead, and it was over the galactic news for about a week," he explained.

"As for her being alive, I'd say it's a possibility, yes, she's a strong woman. I last heard of her working with the Jedi in the Clone Wars, but that was ages ago, I was out of tune with the Galaxy during that period. I served in a few skirmishes as a mercenary, and wiped out my Clone platoon after Order 66 was issued against me, but otherwise she vanished from what I know. She hasn't heard from me since I faked my death. But I'm pretty sure there's a high possibility she's alive," Strider said.

Tay frowned and looked down at the picture. "I suppose that could explain how it keeps changing..." Looking back at Strider, she went on. "But it makes no sense... how can a person be so old? I mean, this picture claims to have been... first capture date is 2000 years ago!"

"A group of jedi made especially to hunt down the sith, I would presume" The admiral said, ending his silence and pushed a button next to a door on their right side. The door opened and led them to the bridge. An officer shouted 'Attention' and pretty much everybody stood at attention.

"Continue" the admiral said and walked to the window, crossing his handsbehind his back.

"Admiral, the fleet is beginning it's jump out of hyperspace."

"Good. Ready my shuttle and the ESC. We're going to meet the old man of Malachor"

"Yes, sir"

The admiral turned to the group just as the ship jumped out of hyperspace and showed a dark asteroid belt an a couple of planets nearby. A huge space station appeared and the fleet headed towards it.

"If you don't mind, I would like you to meet the man that is responsible for most of my information of you and most of my knowledge on how to hide my fleet from the Empire" he said and walked to them, looking quickly at the captain that nodded as a confirmation that his shuttle was ready

Strider shrugged, "Not quite, but almost a safe accusation. Several were force sensitives, or former Jedi," he explained. As he entered the bridge with the admiral, he looked around the room.

When the Admiral turned back to them and spoke, Flamehart inquired, "Who is he? Anyone we'd know?"

"You might know him. Angak sure as hell does" he said and stopped ight infront of the group.

"What he has told me is that he is a jedi of old. A grand master way before Yoda and a relic from the Hundred Year Darkness" he said and shook his head slowly.

"If you want to see old, he is the person to look at" the admiral finished and looked at the captain again, nodding silently.

"Star Destroyer Vampyre, get to the Old Man of Malachor and stick around. The visiting hours are open"

"Copy that, Sunshade"

"If you would like to follow me once again" the admiral said with a smile and walked throught the door that led them into a large turbolift that went all the way down to the personal hangar of the admiral. The turbolift started to move as soon as everyone was in and it took no more than a puny half minute to get down to the hangar. The first thing they could see when the doors opened was a Lambda-class shuttle with the same colours as the Star Destroyers, golden and red, and a company of soldiers boarding the shuttle in red armors with a blue shoulder pads.

The admiral led them inside the shuttle, into a small room with seats for them all.

"The first thing you should know of the Old Man of Malachor is that age has not treaten him as well as it has to many others. It is a pure miracle that he even lives anymore, but it seems that he has strong ties with the force. I have never seen him move from his seat and use the cane he clings to like it would be the very thing keeping him alive, but there are fresh footsteps every time I visit, and there have been no other ships in the system between the visits" the admiral explained and sat on the seat set on a small pedestal with a small control board on the right hand side.

The shuttle raised from the hangar and left swiftly with an escort of three TIE-fighters

"My history is a bit rusty at the moment, so I'll wait for a name when we arrive," Strider merely stated. He waited with his arms crossed, observing the colors of the escort and the soldiers around him. "So what made you decide on these particular colors? Just wondering," Strider asked, interested.

The admiral grinned and looked at Strider.

"These are the colours of the Grand Army of the Republic" he said and turne his head towards the wall infront of him.

"I have many inspirations in my life, and the only things I get from Palpatine are the colours of the Republic and the needle shape" the man noted quickly after his last sentence

"Hmm... Might be so" he said before the intercom crackled open and the picture of a humongous asteroid with a structure at least above it's surface.

"Excuse me, sir, but we're approaching the asteroid at full speed"

"Thank you, captain" he said as he pressed the intercom off.

The shuttle approached the structure, the picture showing the asteroid's details better as they got closer.

"That is the place where the Old Man of Malachor lives. He has himself built the structure of his old ship. At least that's what he told me"

"Wish I was that active for an old man," Strider said with a chuckle. "But hey, he gets around, gotta give him credit for that," he added.

((Being he only looks in his middle twenties, this may sound kind of odd coming from him to those who don't know his past here.))

The admiral gave Strider a raised eyebrow as he tried to decide if there was a hint of sarcasm in his voice or not. However, he decided to brush the wo4rds out of his mind so they wouldn't bother him when he went to sleep.

Angak looked up at the admiral and then at the asteroid.

"What race is he?" he asked suddenly and the admiral looked at him with a blank face.

"I have not seen his face, for he has told me to wait for the right time to reveal much of him. What I can tell of him is that he has amazingly slowed his body cippling with a conenction to the force. Somehow, there has been nothing that has changed in his body since his adulthood many thousand years ago" the admiral said and shook his head slightly.

((I need a decision. It's either Emukiel or Valgo, but which...?))
