Bummer. Oh well, I'll be home in about

2 hours or so.

If people are still playing then I'll leave it up

for awhile longer (I will be gone 8:30pm-10:30pm Central

time too so I'll keep it up during that time

in case anyone wants to get in one last match

or something).

And then that'll be the end of another fun filled

weekend! (actually it was pretty much all last

night, but still, I'll keep that in mind next time,

saturdays seem the best for people).

Ya well, I had fun. Sad though the turnout

we had. I wish more would come. Well,

no offence to all you people who are busy etc.

I may ask some of my friends that played

Battlegrounds with and see if they wanna join in.

Now for more pics.

SHOT0013.jpg Will Vader do it?

SHOT0018.jpg Kyle we are outside and you still feel Hot. -.-

SHOT0019.jpg Hmmmm Let me try reverse psychology. Maybe then you'll cool off.

So many great shots, so little time!

Okay, these are from a bunch of games,

perhaps you'll recall some of the events

in them. I tried to take some funny/cool

ones, but some of them are just scores

and records of who was there. Enjoy! ;)

(PS: Not necessarily in chronological order,

but some obviously are)

(May add commentary later, others feel

free to comment on them!)

Oooh, colored lighting, circa 1998! Notice how I'm in the lead...

andrew2.jpg

Now look... owned! Just goes to show anything can happen...

andrew1a.jpg

This was a common sight for me that night. Not only did I get

killed welcoming people to the game, but Andrew liked to strike

dramatic poses over my dead body... ;)

attrition.jpg

Three way kill, ha! Ross got two points out of it though,

way to fight back!

biggestgame.jpg

"Biggest MotS game since 2003!"

bodymine.jpg

Yes, it's still fun to do this. ;)

Andrew finally flushes me out of my hidey-hole. Hutt Palace

was made for Scouts!

Cloud City Gantry is a deathtrap! Tiny map with no health

or shield pickups (just a few weapons, a surge and a boost)

and very little room to manuver. It was pure chaos with our

sizable group!

choke.jpg

Gripe was so powerful in this game! Even though I'm taking

no damage (Absorb), I'm still virtually immobilized. There

are lots of better counters to it, thankfully!

Notice te27ch's bragging (I believe this was the same one

that Andrew won).

coolpic.jpg

Just a cool pic.

pickingteams.jpg

Here we are picking our teams for MotS CTF with personalities. Notice how each class has a different model (this was back before they gave EVERY

skin a team color variant), rather than forcing you all to be Kyle in

a different jumpsuit like JK1.

christmas.jpg

"It's Christmas!" Yes, you can play with more than two

teams in MotS CTF (just only gold and red can cap the flag).

ctf-0a.jpg

Cool game, even if I sucked!

ctf0-defense.jpg

Defense

ctf0.jpg

Gold Wins. That's me in the water. (soldier sucks, except

on defense, at least he does for me, too slow)

ctf1a.jpg

This was an intense game. I had to stay alive until drew

could get our flag back, which is hard when you don't have

force powers!

ctf1c.jpg

Persistence pays off. We won!

(PS: Better learn to counter carb gun on that map!)

Moeller: Yeah, it's about time somebody

mentioned the graphics looking dated (it was Feb. 1998!). ;)

Of course anyone who played the game hardcore

back in the day can FEEL the fun oozing forth

from these screenshots (which they fail to

capture for everyone else). The game is so

fast (making JA and JK2 appear slow by

comparison), that you don't often stop

and think about how low poly or low res

things are compared to modern games.

Damn why didnt you all

tell me there was more then just Kurgan and

Ross in the game! Wish you all told me, but

I was kinda busy with a friend. Oh well maybe

next weekend.

See, that's a common mistake. ;) Actually I bet most

people when I post the link to the game in their inbox/IM

window just assume that it's me sitting there by myself

for hours waiting for people to play. They don't realize that

I just host it and we have a handful of people here that

normally show up and then I join when I can.

The prospect of fighting me doesn't excite them. Either:

1) I haven't played in so long so I'll be no challenge.

or

2) I'll be awesome at this game they haven't played in ages,

so they'll just get pasted into the ground and it won't be any

fun for them.

Gamers today are impatient, if they hop on a server and

it doesn't immediately have a big group playing an intense

game, they leave, often without saying anything.

Oh how they miss out!

Not that this is you, but I imagine a lot of folks think

along similar lines, preventing them from joining even if they

have time to play...

Don't worry, we'll fit you in next weekend if possible. ;)

This is a game truly worth revisiting (or checking out for the first

time as JK series fan).

PS: Are you still going to post that "Ghosts" video

you said you took off the server?
