My good man, Quanon!

I love both Truckfighters and Earth! saw the former live with Kvelertak back in April and Earth in Stockholm over a year ago now. Actually got to shake hands and have a chat with Dylan Carlson a couple of weeks back as he's currently touring as a solo artist with a drummer from some folk band.

Wow; cool; didn't really know if Earth was still playing. I'll certainly check out their other numbers. I'dd love to see these guys live.

I also enjoy this other band; Stoned Jesus. Seven thunders Roar. Sometimes the songs remind a bit of Jimmy Hendrix.

Glenn Gould, showing off:

The lyrics:

So you want to write a fugue?
You've got the urge to write a fugue,
You've got the nerve to write a fugue,
So go ahead and write a fugue that we can sing.

Pay no heed to what we've told you,
Give no mind to what we've told you.
Just forget all that we've told you,
And the theory that you've read.
For the only way to write one,
Is just to plunge right in and write one.
So just forget the rules and write one,
Have a try, yes, try to write a fugue.

So just ignore the rules and try,
And the fun of it will get you,
And the joy of it will fetch you,
It's a pleasure that ist bound to satisfy.
So why not have a try?
You'll decide that John Sebastian,
Must have been a very personable guy.

But never be clever for the sake of being clever,
For a canon in inversion is a dangerous diversion
And a bit of augmentation is a serious temptation
While a stretto diminution is an obvious solution
Never be clever for the sake of being clever
For the sake of showing off.

It's rather awesome, isn't it?
And when you've finished writing it,
I think you'll find a great joy in it (hope so)...
Well, nothing ventured nothing gained they say...
But still it is rather hard to start.
Let us try.

Right now?
We're going to write a fugue right now!

If you have been getting Guitar Pro for some time now, then you might recognize this tune from an issue several years ago. The author of that piece has posted it here on his YT channel. Apparently he's a fan of megaman X like I am.

This was achieved by making a MIDI sequence, then using some programs to impose loops of the sound file "instruments" from MegaMan X2--So it sounds like it could be a track from the 1994 SNES game!

The guy is pretty cool to talk with. As for the track:

1) It makes me want to get out the old electric bass

2) I now use it as a ringtone

3) I have it on a USB card for my 360 and play the music when I do a race on GTA5.

Christmas music.

I sang with the York Symphony Chorus this season, and we sang this with the orchestra along with a lot of other music. We had a good time. "Dry Your Eyes, Afrika" was one of the pieces, along with more traditional songs. A Gospel choir joined us for some of the concert, and we got to sing some really fun stuff like "O Happy Day" and a gospel versions of the Hallelujah Chorus with them.

Oh, and the latest albums from Kamelot and Within Temptation. I didn't think anyone would be able to replace Roy Khan as lead singer in Kamelot, but Tommy Karevik is doing a terrific job.

By the way, Tommy Youngblood plays lead guitar just as well live as on the video. I had the chance to get to one of their concerts and had a fantastic time.
