Widely celebrated as the best Star Wars game of recent years, rumours have emerged that RPG specialist BioWare is hard at work on an MMO version of its hugely popular Knights of the Old Republic franchise. CVG reports that the latest edition of US games print mag EGM includes the snippet in its Rumour section. No confirmation has been forthcoming from the developer as of yet, but were the game to emerge it would almost certainly be a sure-fire contender to better LucasArts’ previous MMO outing, the troubled Star Wars Galaxies. Knights of the Old Republic was a critical and commercial success upon its release on Xbox in 2003. Its fortunes were mirrored by an equally celebrated PC version shortly afterwards. Obsidian took over the reigns for the second instalment in 2005, which whilst failing to win over the critics was again another firm retail success. EGM also revealed a couple of other BioWare rumours. Namely, that current PC-only title Dragon Age will also be heading to PS3, and that the as-of-yet unspecified DS game already in development at the studio will be a new instalment in the Baldur’s Gate franchise. Xirion Posted April 26, 2007 Share Posted April 26, 2007 ahhh KOTOR isnt star wars to me yeah i like it but ill miss vader, storm troopers, and all that, if anything it would be announced next month for the 30th anniversary. a for the KOTORO ( KOTOR Online) beta being already done i doubt it, they would be crazy to have a game already in beta with out even talking to their fan base! if they are indeed working on it, it would be developmental stages only and we wouldnt see it till 09 or 10 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also, KotOR would look so much better, so much more amours, ohh yeah and most likely the ability to wear the cloak over the Robe, lol, there are plenty of reasons why, i simply couldn't sit here all day typing every reason why i think it's a good idea. It makes alot more sense for them to be in a game, 4000+ years ago, i would probably like that more anyway. If i could play as my trandoshan, i'd definitely get it, otherwise i don't really care. I think that a star wars mmorpg made by bioware would be a blast. Bioware is a relable company i dont think they would do something to the game like SOE did to us. Besides the fact if it was based off of the kotor times alot of stuff would be different and they would more or less have some free range over what happens in the game. ANd a new generation MMORPG would bring back the Star Wars saga to the MMORPG's World. 95% of the explayers of SWG will try it and surely enjoy it. ANd all the poeple that is so bored of so many orcs, swords, trolls, elves and castles.( eq2, vanguard, lotro, wow, war, conan...)
