A Vampyre Story

Seems good, I like the interface, familiar but different. The Graphics also look good. i remember them saying they wanted to go 3d with it, but I wasn't sure how good it would look. This has certainly raised my hopes. My only small gripe would be that it'll probably mean I'll have to get a better computer to play it, but that's a personal gripe, I'm sure by now a lot of people have the necessary rig to play it on.

You don't like Casino Royale *or* Vampyre Story?

Gosh, what *do* you like?

The Gorillaz, one would presume.

Its a fancy action select interface thing going on in that screenshot. And I like the style (and resolution) of the background.

I wouldn't get too worried Joshi, unless you're on an obscenely outdated machine. The concept seems to be the same as that in Grim Fandango and EMI, in that the 3D characters run around a 2D background; the only difference is that in Vampyre Story 2D artwork is evidently used instead of pre-rendered 3D.

As such, your graphics card will be focusing all of its power on rendering the characters and objects, meaning it can squeeze a lot more detail/beauty out of them thanks to not needing to render the entire scene like in, say, Sam & Max.

Is this the forum, that was indicated on the A Vampire Story HP?

http://www.vampyrestory-game.de/index.php?&aid=1&id=10

Well, it's the only official Vampyre Story forum that's currently online. Maybe the forum will move to the location indicated there some time, but for now, the link I gave you is the best place to discuss A Vampyre Story, even though it's a bit slow.

You mean the Tiller Chat? Yeah, I sadly missed that too. Was watching the Extended Edition of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and completely forgot.

Oh, and Bill's blog on the Autumn Moon website has been updated. Check it out. It's mostly about the new staff members who have joined, but there's a paragraph about AVS's progress at the top. Very encouraging!

That's *so* 2002. Narnia is the way to go now if you wanna be *in*

Anyway, I've been meaning to watch those extended editions for ages and never got around to it. Was it good?

Yes! Takes bloody ages though. The film comes on two discs - each disc is about the size of a normal-sized film, so I just watch one disc a night!

They do add tons of cool stuff from the books, like a large 'Concerning Hobbits' beginning to Fellowship, and the proper ending to Helm's Deep where a living forest gets revenge on the fleeing orcs. ROTK is the best Extended one though, adding the incredibly creepy Mouth of Sauron, the Witch-King versus Gandalf, and the proper Saruman scene at Isengard.

HA! I managed to turn an upcoming adventure game discussion, into a geeky Tolkien battle!

The Sam wins again! Oh man, I'm so evil.

I guess the best character in LOTR (Tom Bombadil of course) does not make an appearance even in the extended thingie. That's just one of the few things I can criticize for the trilogy. The other changes are more or less understandable.
