Dialogue:

Matt Damon: "Matt Damon!"

Daniel Craig: "I've been told people like you have a very short life expectancy."

Matt Damon: "Maaaat Damon!"

*Craig goes into walking combat zone mode*

no, seriously.

Bourne is good, very good. But he is a trained to be an Assassin, nothing more. He's far 'colder' then Bond and kind of a Lone Wolf. Bond on the other hand, has years of experience at his disposal, MI6 and a whole share of connections (Felix, to name one) that can provide him with excellent back-up.

Plus, Bond fights for his ideals ("For queen and country, James!") whereas Bourne fights for different motives. :)

...Bonds cars tend to be a bit more destructive too, with all the machine guns, rockets 'n stuff.

EDIT:

Okay...fist to fist.

Can't really say. They both received hand to hand combat training as seen in the movies. That's why I mentioned all the other stuff; They are (imo) equal in a fist fight.

Ah but that's not fair. Bond always has some clever surprise from Q at his disposal or will make the best of his surroundings to win. He's like Batman. If it was only hand to hand, Bourne would win easily but otherwise Bond make a desperate grab for his shirt pocket, grab a fountain pen and squirt acid into Bourne's face, then kick him into a pool of sharks.

Indeed, hence why Bourne would mop the floor with him in a straight brawl.

What I ment in the question is if the two guys just sparred eachother with no weapons, just fist and foot.

Just fist and foot huh? Well, in that case, Bond would win. He would bite off a piece of his own finger nail and throw it at Bourne causing way more damage than is physically possible.

Thats just the way Bond is. It doesn't always make sense, but Bond will find a way to win. Also, thats still within the "just fist and foot" guideline.

Bond make a desperate grab for his shirt pocket, grab a fountain pen and squirt acid into Bourne's face, then kick him into a pool of sharks.

You forgot the most important part! After he was in the pool, Bond would say something like "I hear the herrings good here."

For a moment I had a MacGyver moment reading your post, thinking he’d use the fountain pen, a piece of gum and a rubber band to make a rocket launcher.

I’ll go with Bourne, unless we are taking about (like Cygnus Q’ol wrote) Sean Connery’s Bond.

depends on which version of Bond you're talking about: at pure hand-to-hand with no special gadgets and just their surroundings, Bourne would have various levels of success with all of the various Bonds. in the end, however, only Bourne would be walking away from that fight. ;)

You guys always forget that Bond is supposed to also excel in hand-to-hand combat. I think Bond would win. He's say some witty pun that would make Bourne groan and close his eyes, and then it'd be all over.

OK, even I'm not geeky enough to put a computer in the bathroom to read while I'm brushing my teeth. Although my laptop does travel pretty much anywhere I can....

Have you seen any of the Bourne movies?! The first time Bond bled he'd call for a time out.

I don't know about you guys but my toothbrush is portable :)

For some reason I have thing against brushing my teeth in the bathroom. I also don't like having my feet covered. And I don't wear hats.

Oh yeah, I have. Loved them, too, and want to see this latest one with my dad as soon as he's out of the hospital. He and I go to the Bourne movies together--kind of tradition for us.

Naw, Bond would still get the upper hand, because he can out-think Bourne. Bourne may have him beat in sheer physical strength and possibly speed, but Bond's an extremely smart fighter, and I think he has more years of experience in sneaky fighting. I can't tell you how many times in taekwondo I've seen some little guy take down a large brute fighter of equal rank because he thought smart in the ring and maneuvered the big guy into doing something stupid.

My toothbrush is chained to the sink, sadly, and isn't portable like my laptop....just kidding!

Toes should be free unless otherwise required to be covered. Hats are a requirement in WI in the winter unless one likes frostbit ears. :)

^^^^

i completely agree.

think about it: Bond gets caught by the bad guys in every movie, and its never on purpose. the only time Bourne gets caught, he has a reason to do so. every other time, Bourne out maneuvers and outsmarts everybody.

then, you have to look at the fighting style. Bourne is one heck of an improv guy. come on, when you beat one guy by using a Bic pen, another by using a towel, and another by using the cords from a set of windows blinds, you are definitely using your surroundings. the only movie where Bond uses his surroundings to beat somebody like that is in Casino Royale, and even then, it just doesn't have the super-cool factor like Bourne.

anyways, enough rambling. in the end, it all comes down to this: Bourne > Bond. end. of. story.

You guys talk about using the environment like you've never seen a Jackie Chan movie.
Chan's fights are so blatantly choreographed though. It's impressive but completely superficial.

My vote is for Bond. He's cooler. Daniel Craig ftw.
No, you have to use pre-Bourne Bond!!! Casino Royale was clearly influenced by the Bourne franchise.

On a side note: Nice thread :D

Now back to the topic:

You people just don't seem to understand something here. Allow me to explain.

Barry Nelson - James Bond

Bob Holness - James Bond

Sean Connery -James Bond

David Niven - James Bond

George Lazenby -James Bond

Roger Moore - James Bond

Timothy Dalton -James Bond

Pierce Brosnan -James Bond

Daniel Craig - James Bond

Now i'll give Bourne this, hes one bad donkey-dude;). He'd probably first take out Holness instantly by snapping his neck. (Due to the fact that i've never even heard of Holness before.), and proceeded to kill the tag team Niven and Dalton. (Since I never heard of them either.) Of course during the time, Craig, Moore, Brosnan, Connery get in a few good shots. Lazenby and Nelson would then try to get in some hits of their own. Unfortunately Moore would suddenly trip over Lazenby, and fall down, breaking his neck. Bourne would then take advantage of the situation, killing the perplexed Lazenby by slamming his face into the ground. Bourne would toss Nelson at Connery and Craig, keeping them slightly occupied while he wears down Brosnan. Nelson would get up and charge Bourne only to receive swift kick to the throat. By then the worn-down Bourne would have to compete with Brosnan, Craig, and Connery still. In the ensuing battle Brosnan would be thrown off the nearby conveniently placed cliff, but Connery and Craig emerge victorious by knocking Bourne off as well. Thus Bond emerges victorious.
