Did the Galactic Republic have a flag?

Well, if that was the symbol of the Old Republic, then there must have been flags with the symbol on it (quite possibly a simple white flag with the bold black design of the Republic symbol on it). Probably flying in or over the Senate of the Republic, as well as the chancelor's office, perhaps military bases, as well. And no doubt the emblem would be seen on walls throughout government buildings on Coruscant and on certain official documents and so on.

Well, that's true to some extent. But in order to have the Republic symbol flying in the wind over government buildings and such, or being held aloft by military troops as they carry the standard of the Republic in marches and parades and so on, then you need a flag for those important things. So they must have them. :)

Well, first off that is the NEW REPUBLIC flag, not the OLD REPUBLIC of the PT era. And to top it off, the existance of the flag may or maynot be tied to the fact that the game is called "Capture the Flag" and as such a flag is needed for playability as per tradition.

Its like, we know that the empire/republic do not win wars by taking an enemy flag and putting it back to their own base... soldiers don't respawn suddenly within bases... and there is no admin abusing parties of both sides just to have fun from their misery... Those are gameplay issues, not facts of the galaxy far far away.

I mean, I would LOVE to see a bunch of stormies yelling "Hey you there" together for no reason at all, or jedi calling stormies nubs for using guns while yelling "Saber only"
