How to install Escape From Monkey Island [SOLUTION]

Solution for "Setup requires _SETUP.DLL and _ISRES.DLL (located in _SETUP.LIB) in order to operate properly. Please ensure these files are located with SETUP.EXE" error when trying to install EMI..

 

It worked here, and i'm using WinXP Pro SP2

 

Here is the solution :

 

Go to Control Panel, then System, then Advanced tab, now Environment Variables Button..now roll down the System Variables Box and select TEMP and click Edit

 

You will need to change this "%SystemRoot%\TEMP" to this "C:\Temp" (you will need to create that folder in C:\)

 

then do the same with TMP, changing from this "%SystemRoot%\TEMP" to this "C:\Temp" again, just click Ok now.. you will be able to install EMI

 

the final result will look like this (don't mind about the portuguese windows, it will probably be the same thing)

 

It also works for Grim Fandango and with any other old game/program with old installer..

What DLL did the error say was missing?
